          It was a somewhat tongue-in-cheek comment about the taste of instant coffee in general.

          But on a more serious note, regular consumers of instant coffee should be aware of dietary acrylamide levels in the stuff (approx 7x as high as freshly brewed coffee from roasted beans). (Ref 1, Ref 2) I know people who will only drink light roast coffee, as a pour-over brew, out of an abundance of caution.

            @[Deactivated]: Nice one (or not so nice really) - wasn't aware of acrylamides or that coffee contained them. Do you have a reference on instant coffee containing 7x as high as freshly brewed coffee? What I could find was this which says it's about twice as much in instant coffee.

            And comparing the fried food such as chips, acrylamide in coffee could be ignored?

                According to the Currency Act 1965 coins are only legal tender for limited payment amounts. You can use up to $5 worth of coins in any combination of 5c, 10c, 20c and 50c coins and up to 10 times the face value of $1 or $2 coins.

              @ivyholmes: What was the question. I thought how can you use the prepaid mastercard that is sent to you after a successful claim.

              If you are asking how payment method do you need to use to purchase the coffee in order to submit the claim. You can use anything that displays proof of purchase - cash, credit card and giftcard (probably wouldn't risk using flybuy dollars or everyday dollars).

      Usually medium roasts are generally better.
      Worse beans can be roasted darker to hide the worse bean quality.

    How will my claim be validated?

    You will be asked to input your purchase details including what product was purchased, where it was purchased, and how much it was purchased for into the online claim. You will also be asked to upload a copy of your purchase receipt (scan or photograph) to the web page.

    An eligible purchase receipt must only be used for a maximum of one claim and must clearly show:

    • the Participating Product name

    • the Purchase Price

    • the Retailer the product was purchased from

    • the purchase date and time

    • the receipt number; and

    • that payment for the Participating Product purchased has been received in full.

    Ensure the receipt is in good condition, not damaged or in pieces. Images should be clear and in focus, not obscured by any objects. If the purchase receipt is missing any of the above information, or is illegible or indecipherable, it will render the claim invalid.     Where can I use the Digital Prepaid MasterCard?

    The Card is a Mastercard prepaid card that can be used for purchasing goods and services where Mastercard prepaid cards are accepted for electronic transactions (excluding transactions at ATMs or over the counter at financial institutions).

    How does a prepaid digital MasterCard work?

    Your Digital Prepaid Mastercard requires activation prior to use.

    Use it like any MasterCard or Visa card you have stored in your mobile wallet!

    Simply present your card in store by opening your digital wallet on your phone and selecting the card.

    Hold your mobile close to the eftpos terminal. The terminal should recognise the card and your phone will prompt you to enter your pass code (this is your phone’s pin number). The terminal should process the payment and you will receive a confirmation on your phone “Done– just enjoy your purchase!”

    You can check your balance and card expiry date anytime by checking the TCN App and selecting your card.

    If the transaction amount exceeds the card’s balance, you will need to pay for the remaining amount on a different card or cash.

    Thanks so much, bought and claimed this morning. I received the gift card claim email within around 10 minutes. Used it with a points promotion at Woolworths, good for increasing the discount on the rest of my shop.

    Good luck finding stock, this is almost unobtainable in my area, unless you buy the capsules… there's no instant left from this range at Coles/Woolies, it disappeared early this year approx.

          Make sure that you claim the rewards with 5 different phone numbers, provided that you have made 5 separate transactions. Once the promoter finds some unusual claims, all the subsequent claims may be under high scrutiny. It happened a few times before with Ben Jerry, Lindt, BWS. Some promoters only sent eGC to the mobile phone number in the end.

    I think I'm getting old - I got my code, and activated it on thecardnetwork site - does anyone know how I use it now? I thought it was going to be just a standard mastercard that can be used anywhere a credit card is used, but all I have is a card number and pin code. It says to download thecardnetwork app, but I'd rather not. Any advice? Can I just add it as balance to ebay or amazon?
