  • perfect timing thanks!!!

    • Gahh, two weeks backorder on the NEX-F3!

  • Good price for the E-PM1.

    • +4

Oh, and it comes in my favorite colour, poo brown!

    • Hell yeah. I got a factory refurb from the states for $350 shipped a couple of months back. Wish I'd waited now.

  • +6

there is also cash back for olympus system
    https://promotions.olympus.com.au/cashback/

    • WOW! even better!

    • takes the E-PM1 to $336 - 50 = $286!

    • +2

and if you are going overseas, the pre-cashback is >$300, so you can get GST of $30 back:
      $336 - $30 - $50 = $256!

      • this is what im looking to do…

        I'm tempted… really really tempted.

  • Not bad price for the newly released NEX F3

    • NEX-F3 without touchscreen control.
      Good PQ and nice price.

  • Hmm for some reason the 25% isn't subtracting from my NEX-F3…

Edit: Doesn't seem to be working for any Sony Models…

    Edit2: Except for the NEX-5n

    • Not sure what's happening with the F3, it didn't say there were any exclusions…might have to contact their online team

      • When you go to their camera section on the regular website, most of the NEX range fall under "Digital SLR" as opposed to compact system :/

        • Pink F3 is getting the discount. :)

        • Not for me :/

        • +1

          Just checked again.

Just added one of them to my cart, proceeded, changed to paypal and then went back to my cart, and the discount appears.

        • Confirm it is working now!

Edit: I added one into my cart and it shows only one camera on Paypal. After confirm the payment process, it shows me purchased 2…..now contacting the cs to fix it….arrgggg

        • Goddamn it… gonna take the plunge and grab the black F3!

Now just need to sell my trusty NEX-5 and the surplus 18-55!

  • Great bargain, bought one!
The GST on e-pm1 is actually $40 (from the original $448 price tag), so if you are planning to use TRS it will bring it down to $246.

    • TRS only refunds the GST you paid - not based on RRP!

      • yeah, the GST on the invoice says $40.

        • to be exact $40.73

        • Oops, the actual invoice I got later says $30. Sorry.

  • Did they jack the price of the E-PM1? Its now $521 after discount!

    • you might be looking at the twin kit?

      • I was looking for the silver single lens but i can only find purple listed. U have to click on the links to get a decent priced silver/white one!

Purchased a silver and also white E-PM1 to go with my and my gf's X100 and E-PL2 woohoo.

  • doesn't work on sony models.. tried all others they seem to work… bizarre!!! i also coulda sworn i saw a Sony NEX5n on there earlier today but its not there now.

  • Very tempted to get the E-PM1

    • I got one a few weeks back, it is a very good camera. It is an EP3 without the built in flash and swing out screen. Otherwise they are essentially the same.

  • Just bought a sony nex-5n, it worked for me. Do you guys think anywhere would price match or beat these offers?

  • So the E-PM1 will work with ANY m43 mount lenses?

      • Is it worth while getting twin lens or single lens for E-PM1?

        • I got the one with single lens, as I know my missus won't bother changing them ;)
          And I've got a proper DSLR with 5 lenses - 3 used constantly :)

        • Thanks for the info Foma2… I'll look into adapter :)

        • Although the twin lens would cover you with a wide range of 14-42, 40-150 (equivalent to 28-300 for 35mm Full Frame) but like Foma2 said, changing lens can be a bother.

If you intend to invest in the lens, i would suggest getting the olympus 14-150mm as a all purpose to replace the kit lens, and add the Panasonic 20mm 1.7F for indoor/low light shots.

Since the main reason you would go for m43 over dslr is the lighter weight/size especially good for travel.
The lenses I mentioned aren't cheap, (~700, 400 aud), but they tend to hold their value very well compare to a camera body.

        • yeah will definitely consider to get a pancake lens to make it really portable….

        • Excellent… definitely will look into 20mm lens! Thanks windrc

  • Does anyone know if it works with their regular digital cameras as well eg Panasonic tz30. Sorry am on a very slow connection atm and can't get the HN site to load. Thanks.

  • Just ordered E-PM1! Thanks!

  • Does anyone know how the NEX-F3 compares to the PEN cameras?

    • Very, very well. But for double the price, unless you shoot regularly you probably won't notice. (I've got the NEX-5)

  • Do the olympus models have a stabiliser in-body or in-lenses?

  • Couldn't resist the mini for $286
Got the Black, so had to go to main web page for other colours
$5 postage cheaper than going to pick it up
Looking forward to playing with the SLR lenses on this with an adaptor
    Thanks for post

  • Brilliant price on e-pm1, we took one to Europe for 6 weeks instead of my canon dslr and it performed fantastic. Highly recommended!

    • Hi slknv! May I know what lenses would you recommend for a holiday trip with the e-pm1?

      Thank you!

      • Just took the kit lens zoom with us, did a fine job. A pancake lens might be nice, but costs more than the e-pm1 at this deal price! The built in picture effects/filters are actually pretty good, used the grainy film and dramatic filters quite a bit. Usually you would do post-processing on a regular photo, but it doesn't take much effort to take a regular photo and also a processed photo in camera. We took 40gb of photos/videos with the e-pm1 (about 8500 shots) in 6 weeks. I would recommend also getting a spare battery or two and a travel charger, got mine off eBay cheap. Standard battery takes around 250 shots but always runs out when you least want it to, and doesn't give you much warning it's low on power. Also got a small grip to add to the front of the camera as otherwise it's quite slippery. Also bought off eBay a lens cap with string to keep me from losing it.

I paid $400 in feb for this camera, street price in hong kong when I was there last month is about aud$620 at broadway, fortress etc, so this is a steal!

  • how long will this last? my paypal linked account has $0 in it atm.

      • cheers :)

  • Great find!! Thanks OP got myself a Olympus PEN E-PM1

  • Got meself a e-pm1. Hope to get the cash back soon

  • Thanks for the deal! Got myself a e-pm1 as well.

Do you guys know if the cash back is limited to 1 per household or can it be more than 1? I bought myself 2 of these little goodies…

    • To be eligible to claim the cash back, the Claimant must purchase,
from an Australian registered business (holding an Australian Business
Number), one or more of the following products during the Promotional
      Period:

      e. Olympus PEN E-PM1 Single Lens Kit in Black, Silver, Purple, Pink, White
      or Brown

It's ONE OR MORE according to the pdf from Olympus.

  • Finally decided and purchased a E-PM1.

  • Finally got the EPM1…

Anyone know how long does HN usually take to prepare the item for collection paid via Paypal? (it was in stock at my local store)

  • Damn ozbargain… cost me a fortune!

Thanks for the deal, can't pass up the E-PM1 at that price. Might have to get rid of my D5000.

  • Thanks got a EPM1 too. $286 for a Micro Four Thirds is a no brainer!

  • Lol so many epm1's flying out the door. Just watch out if you take a lot of movies, it makes its own woodpecker soundtrack to go with it.

    • have you tried with the new firmware? will test it when I got mine today.

    • My one doesnt. could be the earlier version 1 lens?

      • Yes I updated the firmware in the camera to V1.2 or whatever it is. be warned its a pretty hairy process and takes a solid half an hour with zero progress indication!

And no mine is the latest version II lens with "MSC".

It only happens on quiet subjects, seems the camera boosts the internal mic gain but then it picks up the lens AF noise.

The only reason yours doesn't do it, is because you are using C-AF, or the lens is very new and hasn't worn in yet. One of my replacements didn't do it to start with, but the noise came back after half an hours use.

      • did you try it indoor or outdoor?

        • yes, both.

    • I can confirm that my new one has that annoying noise….bugger.

      • Yes mine has that noise too…but it's common issue based on mr.google. i'm not sure I'm digging google now.

  • thanks got a white EPM1 .

  • Thanks got a black EPM1, couldn't pass it up!

  • When you order for pick-up, how long do you have to wait for the message it is ready? Do they email you or call you?

    • They will email you pretty much straight away after your Paypal payment has been processed

I order a white EPM1, due to pick up at Martin Place store. Got a second email to say the wait is approximately 6 days

      • When did you order? I ordered at 12:00 last night for a black one and still hasn't received the email informing pickup

      • I got the order confirmation straight away but haven't received anything else yet. Should have probably selected a different store location.

    • Order last nite and got my pickup confirmation email this morning.

  • Yea they put me on back order too! They got over 150 orders apparently

    • You referring to stock of E-PM1? Which colour was this back order for though? Hope its not black thats out as I'll have to get a silver kit instead (or opposite depending).

      • Yea
        The silver one

        • Thanks. Backorder prolly due to everyone using the link to the silver one & most not knowing to search for the other colour units. Might get the black then. Any idea how long backorder will be for silver?

    • minijumbuk! are you who i think you are?

      • I don't know who you think I am lol pm me

  • I think minijumbuk referred to stock of EPM1. I'm not sure which color he ordered, but I ordered a WHITE colour one and it's on back order. If you have not got an email from HN to say your order is in back order, then you should be fine

  • I just went to pick up my EPM1 and the guy at the HN store was all like.. "hmm.. we're not sure how you got that price"…

    • The pickup process is a mess. I ordered a Beats SoloHD last week and went to pick up yesterday, the online pickup said they don't have that stock and ask me to ask the salesman from the store for that. After asked the salesman said there have no order information on their system and the salesman walked around in the store and keeping asking. That took me an hour there and end up the salesman gave me Bests Solo original version in different color and not updating my invoice. The most terrible thing was I ordered Solo HD but not original version and the salesman there gave me the original version (very very tricky and not honest at all). So I asked them to update my invoice and change back to HD version, end up they only have the white color which I ordered red! End up they spent me an hour and half for nothing gave me and I need to pick up from another store in another day. Terrible!

I recommend you to pay for the shipping to avoid this kinds of thing happened.
P.S. Actually the HN online is a franchise of HN, so in-store pickup is based on in-store stock. It seems there have no communication between Online and Retail store, so if they asked you to pickup just go and don't wait or the Retail will sell out all the stock and you got nothing when pickup.

    • Lucky you. Which color did you order and which HN sotre did you go?

      • not sure if you're replying to bonus999 or me.. but anywho…

I order silver (just at 5am in the morning) and just collected it from HN Hobart

  • Ordered a white epm1 pickup at my local store and got email saying back order and expect it in 30(!) Days. Anyone else got such long estimate?

    • check other stores around your area if available.

      • It seems white is sold out everywhere in Melbourne. Check around 10 stores online. Will I get it faster if I choose for it tone delivered?

  • Just picked my silver up from Broadway (Brisbane CBD). Easy as - tried to sell me extended warranty but other than that it was painless.

  • Thanks Mikeshashimi

To all the new EPM1 owners:

    This case is excellent: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230692700783

If you are going to have more than one lens get a tail cap here:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260875317495 (the one taht comes with it doesnt screw on and can fall off)

(I have an epm1 and both of the above.)

Dont forget to turn on the "Super control panel" when you get it if you want better control of the camera.

  • Ordered a silver one ~10.30am today, got an email after 1 hour to pick up, have the camera with me now.
No hassle what so ever, easy as!
Melbourne QV btw, go get one! :P

  • got a silver one too..

  • I'm very lucky they don't have the new Olympus E-M5. 25% off that would be too hard to resist

    • I got my OM-D from Myer recently for 29.09% off. Myer had 20% off cameras, I paid with giftcards that were on promotion in Myer! :)

    • Well, if you must know, Harvey Norman as part of their 'Super Sizzler Saturday' 30th June 2012 sale
does have 25% off the Olympus E-M5. The advertising flyer says the sale excludes the the Olympus
OM-D E-M5, but that didn't stop the Harvey Norman store in Melbourne (Queen Victoria site) from
discounting their E-M5 by 25% off the ticket price.

The cheapest E-M5 they had was with the 14-42 'kit lens' (not the 12-50 unfortunately), there was
no sale on the 'body-only' price. E-M5 plus 14-42 kit lens was about $1040.

  • just picked up e-pm1 black at HN moore park

  • Thinking of buying the e-pm1 but would like the pancake lens. Would it be better off buying the twin pack version and then try to sell the other lens to cover the cost of the pancake lens? Or just buy the single lens version and buy the pancake lens somewhere else?
