Are these worth the upgrade over WF-1000XM3?
Already have the WF-1000XM3.Smaller case, better noise cancellation, better call quality. But it all come down to whether the marginal return is worth it for you right
Sound wise not really, but fit was a lot better. If the XM3 fit fine, then I don't think it's worth it personally
I had some for 6 months and sold them on ebay - had lots of call quality complaints

Obviously depends on your ear for sizing and whatnot, but maybe start with Spinfit cp360s or cp100+. The 360 is shallower so if you can't tolerate a deeper fit that'd be where to begin.
I've tried lots of tips on various IEMs and I find Spinfits (for me at least) to generally be the best all rounders when it comes to comfort and sound.

I got the SpinFit CP360 and ended up going back to the foam tips that help cut outside sound out.
Its really going to be a subjective thing though.SpinFit CP360 for general use where noise cancellation/isolation is not important. But if I were to travel on transport I would use the foam tips.
I ordered these in the last deal. And the unit I received was faulty. The left ear bud registered false touches and would swich noise cancelling on/off on its own.
Sure shit happens and I asked for a replacement from Sony.
The RMA process was in all honestly horrible, after 4 weeks of troubleshooting and back and forth with Sony eBay support they still wanted me to follow up with DHL to check why hadn't Sony received the original pairs back.
At which point I have had enough. I paid for a product and after 4 weeks had no view on when I can get a replacement, Sony chose DHL to initiate the return, it wasnt my problem to follow up with DHL. I cancelled my replacement and asked for a refund at that point.
DHL are awful
I contacted Sony directly for repairs for my xm3 (one side wasn't charging). Was really straightforward, just sent them my invoice, the issue (it's a known issue) and they gave me a new pair no questions asked.
This was also a year old + IEM at this point. The retailer that I bought it from (A2A Melbourne) on the other hand basically told me they couldn't do anything and to solve it myself.
Mine was directly Sony as well. This current deal and also the previous when I bought are both from Sony's official eBay Store, not a third party seller.
Maybe because mine was a known issue which was why there was no questions asked. Well, what can you do.
I bought these last time. The first pair I got would disconnect randomly, and more frequently one side would just go to sleep for some reason (no sound, sound would continue in the other side) and I'd have to stroke the touch area on it to wake it up.
Happened on my phone and laptop. No idea why.
Sony replaced it and the second pair was better, but it still had the going to sleep issue.
I dunno what causes it, or if there is a fix. Sonys troubleshooting did nothing.
I've sent it back for a refund now which is sad as I vastly prefer them over my wf-1000xm3. But my xm3 have zero issues.
I'll buy a brand new pair when they go on sale.
Ps Sony support was very good. I think they are worth a punt, maybe I just had bad luck.
With their eBay feedback being what it is, I don't understand why these deals are still popular. So many buyers reporting issues with their refurb/box-damaged products.
Because the mystery box could be anything, it could even be headphones! You know much we wanted a pair of those.
I tried to warn people but there's folks who think everyone who buys these will get a brand new just box damaged version. Then they downvote you like crazy and people end up still buying it.
Maybe because it says "the item is in pristine, like-new condition, and backed by a 1 year Sony warranty"

I’ve had these several months - I bought new though. Overall I’d put noise cancelling below Bose qc buds, but battery, and especially sound are really good. The sound is surprisingly detailed. The noise cancelling is serviceable but you have to maintain a very good seal and I find that hard when moving.
I use them to exercise and sweat is not a problem at all.
At this price and as an upgrade over previous gen of true wireless (momentum 1, qc1, xm3) I think this is a great deal, obviously assuming you don’t get issues.
Do these have better noise cancelling than Samsung Galaxy Buds 2?

Bought a pair from the last deal and after a factory reset (because I couldn't connect to more than one device) they've been flawless ever since. No signs of use. They looked brand new.

If anyone is after a cheaper decent pair try "Soundpeats Air 3 pro". For under $60 they are great. If you have the cash you can't go wrong with these sony's though. Great Price and quality ANC.
Haven’t tried the Pro version but my experience with the standard SoundPEATS Air 3 was enough to get me to buy the seconds of these (review of these in another comment)
I'm really struggling with the foam ear tips. I've tried each of the sizes for a couple of hours, but they're all incredibly uncomfortable.
Can anyone recommend any silicone ear tips (or a better pair of foam ones) that will fit the earbuds?

I got the refurbs in August for $217 or so. Arrived with one of the foam tips slightly torn. Through regular use - I haven’t been rough with them - both foam tips are shredded now and need replacing. They still hold in my ear for now though, and it came with small and large replacement tips. I’ve also had slight popping noises when there are harsh letter F sounds in the right earbud, not sure if this is because they’re seconds or just a standard “feature” of these earphones.
I preferred my Jabras though. More secure in the ear, better passive noise cancelling (tbf the ANC in these Sonys is pretty great), no other issues and smaller, especially a more manageable size for the case.
Not recommended because of the battery lifecycle. I have bought that a year ago and now I am in the second time sending back for a replacement with only 1 h 40 m of listening per full charge. Can be the best ANC of true wireless in the market but the quality of the batteries are just an hassle when every turnaround of warranty claim takes like 2 weeks.
