From the store rep:

eBay Plus have updated their terms with us to say that Cashback isn't to be used in conjunction with any other offer, so it's a risk to try and redeem both Cashback and any vouchers offers they're running because whilst it'll likely track they might invalidate the Cashback at a later date, so I'd say use your discretion as to whether you try and stack here.

  • They just changed the condition! Chemist Warehouse gift card is no longer in the bonus list! I just bought one, and did not save a screenshot. Anyone did so?

    • Same here, I bought one. I saved the screenshot though.

EDIT: Looks like they honoured it though - I just got the $5 pending notification in the app.

      • +1

Good to hear, but not at my end yet.
Edit: The $5 bonus comes now!

  • $5 GC is targeted.

  • Will this work on multiple ebay accounts or just one?

  • +4

My eBay due next month. Can I cancel now and add another year? Thanks

    • -6

same here will exp on 21 December 2022

  • +30

got the ebay plus membership earlier this year during a similar cashback offer. Till date never made a purchase as I never really saw any "bargains". Even forgot to use the promotional $20 credit i got when i signed up.

    • +15

Agreed, Amazon Prime is so much better

    • +10

At least you got a cashback! My cashback never tracked and Shopback refused to honour 40$ because I noticed it after 30 day!

    • +2

Ebay plus express delivery is also laughable. Never even half as fast as amazon delivery

      • Depends where you live, usually the next day but the last seller used some rubbish courier and it took ages.

    • +5

I made 37 item purchases on eBay this year
20 item purchases on Amazon. Of which only 7 is non-grocery goods. Prime is worth it for video alone.. so it's a no brainer.

eBay is excellent for the range of items, especially the niche stuff.

      • Damn, I've just passed 400 on Amazon ;(

    • +1

I was in the same position as you up until the LEGO set for $39 appeared. At that point the membership paid for itself and then some.

    • +1

same here, cancelled my eBay Plus subscription. Just can’t compete with Primes next day/same day delivery.

    • same, never qualified to use their $5 vouchers, other stuff just duno..

  • +4

Not a bad deal for $9 a year.

    • +11

That's about as much as it's worth.

      • +4

Free fast postage is good when you're after something. If also some of the best deals are also on eBay plus with codes from time to time.

  • thoughts on eBay plus returns? how easy is it?

    • +3

its one of the main reasons why i still pay for ebayplus. Most of the time I try to buy listings that are ebayplus listed even though they may be a few bucks more expensive (but they have free express post and/or ebay plus excluse discounts). But in the case that you want to return it, just click "Return this item" from your My eBay summary page and you get emailed a prepaid AusPost postage label with tracking. Just drop it off at your LPO and wait for it to arrive at the seller.

      • what about reasons for return? no fuss about change of minds or opened items?

      • so its bad to be ebay plus member if youre a seller? Cos then you will have more returns as its making it easier to return

        • Having eBay Plus as a buyer doesn't make you an eBay Plus seller.

As a buyer but, I do everything I can to buy from Plus sellers (even when I didn't have a Plus membership for a while). To become a Plus seller, the seller has to have a record of having semi reliable shipping times. So many non-Plus sellers claim to be in Australia but actually ship from the China.

        • +1

Tbh many online stores do this anyway as it means customers are more likely to buy products.

I think some people are pretty wasteful of this though, like buying 3 sizes of shoes/dresses everytime to see what fits then returning the rest.

When they instead could measuring up, look at sizes of things they've bought before and return if a problem comes up later. I understand there'd be exceptions like if you needed the item straight away or if you were worried it'd be out of stock.

But I personally haven't ever really taken advantage of this, only really return stuff when it's faulty.

  • So as per the op the $20 resigning bonus probably won't stack with the cashback?

    • It stacked without issue for me last time. The $20 bonus is awarded to you as a code automatically

      • +1

Worth a go.. didn't accept the $30 to keep it when recently expired. Cheers.

PS not coming up with the $20 to rejoin popup using the shopback app.

  • +2

Take screen shots as proof , shopback didn't track in the last deal , paid once screen shots uploaded .

    • +2

Yeah, SB are starting to drop the ball. My last 2 transactions [one was a 20% BWS cashback] were refused.

Had to fight for the BWS one as it was worth it.

  • -1

I just renewed my eBay plus in August.

  • +1

Thanks. Finally signed up after this deal.

  • +3

Mixed feeling about this after last experience with SB cash back on Ebay plus. Such a battle just to get cash back.

Agree with comments take lots of screenshots and be prepared to have to get it back manually.

  • I am a lifelong ozbargainer but this eBay plus bullcrap passed me by, I just couldn’t be assed at the time for another subscription. What’s the key benefits? Happy for a link if that’s easier.

  • +2

    Thanks, it's worth $9.

    • I'm tempted to try getting the $30 ebay credit and $40 cashback.. Worst case I'm out $10

      • +1

Just a warning that the ebay credit can't be used with any other deal. 99% of the time eBay is only a good price when combined with another offer.

      • I managed to get the $30 credit on top of the previous $35 cashback deal tracked a couple weeks ago. Will see if it clears by it’s ETA in November.
I think they may have changed the credit as well because it was an actual gift card PIN number and said it expired in 3 years, and was able to use a code in conjunction with it.

  • The Ebay plus membership with$40 shopback does not seem to apply to existing members seeking to extend membership

    • Mine expires TOMORROW lol.

edit: wait when does the $40 cashback expire? I'm confused now.

  • Does Ebay Plus deal ends tomorrow?

    • I guess this is ongoing. Though they might reduce the cashback again to $35 ?

  • Ebay plus: Can $5 coupon be applied to $15 purchases or to $50 purchases? It says two things in two places.

    • I had $50 in cart and couldn't use it. No idea why, must be "types" of items?

      • +1

Items should be “ebay plus” items i guess

    • +1

Use to be $50 but I think since not many would find it worthwhile to use it for such an amount they reduced it now to $15 minimum. At least that's what I got the last couple of times they send me the codes.

      • Thanks mate

      • Thanks, did you start getting coupons after the trial ends? I just signed up and didn't get any coupons. Lol

        • +1

haven't got one this month yet. maybe you need to be a member for a certain period, as i only have got it a couple of times in the past couple of months. that's the $5 coupon with a minimum spend of $15

    • +1

There's two different coupons. Last month I've had both at the same time.

      • Thanks, did you start getting coupons after the trial ends? I just signed up and didn't get any coupons. Lol

  • Just joined after my membership expired. Hopefully it tracks.

  • Question:
I used one of the previous ShopBack offers to get $5 cashback and then cancelled the eBay plus ( think 1 month ago). I'm I still eligible for this offer?

  • membership has to be expired.

  • My membership was expired, i guess this is best time to renew it

  • -3

Joined Ebay plus in May but hasn't got the $40 yet. Ebay keeps on asking me to update personal details. I didn't want to upload my personal details such as driving license and banking number. Ebay cancelled my membership in August. They agreed for a refund but insists on my upload of photo identification documents before the membership fee can be released to my account. I am definitely not happy giving my address, phone number, banking details, driving license to Ebay.

  • Cashback is calculated based on the Order Value, excluding any GST/Taxes, Delivery Fees, & any amount paid for with Gift Cards.

what if I pay using ebay giftcard?

  • I don't understand…. It says "new & reactivated".

But your terms say "Existing eBay Plus Customers will not be eligible for cashback on Sign Ups".

I was an eBay plus customer a while ago, but signed up again for the cashback - are you now saying you will not honour this $40 CB?

    • I think they mean CURRENT customers will not be eligible.

You are reactivated and thus eligible.

  • I'm down for $9 - hopefully it tracks!

  • Am i eligible if i signed up last for the $5 Ebay plus monthly subscription cashback?
the Monthly subscription just ended for me, and wouldn't mind the year for $9.

  • +1

+1 just for putting a detailed description in the post. Good one!

  • My ebayplus expired few months ago, if I re-sign up, do I qualify for the $40?

    • I am the same, lets see if i get $40 back or not

      • you got it?

        • +1

it says, tracking purchase may take upto 5 days

  • Not tracked yet since this morning.

    • Me eBay plus isn’t tracked as well. Signed up last night. Anyone else in the same boat?

      • +1

Same here - but it says that it can take up to 5 days to track.

        • Still got vouchers from the current month not expired which I can use , hmm

        • Yea let’s wait and see.. usually my ShopBack tracks within 2 days

  • Hope it's oaky to seek some advice here as i don't have any experience of sending item back to vendor :
Joined eBay plus in May this year for a month and bought the Himo H1 ebike in late May as it was on special for eBay+ members. Recently the ebike shows a code of 22 & an exclaimation mark on the display intermittently. Contacted the vendor in NSW for the problem and was asked to send it back for inspection/repair. But I've to bear the postage of sending it to the vendor. My questions are :
Q1. Just wondering if i now join eBay+ will I be able to get eBay to pay for the postage in this case ?
Q2. Will I be eligible for the cashback of this deal if I canceled/discontinued my 'paid' eBay+ membership few months ago ?
Q3. If I really have to bear the postage any recommendations on courier on a budget (in the spirit of an OZBer :) ? (The parcel weights about 18 Kg of size about 48cm x 40cm x 35cm)

Many thanks in advance to my fellow OZBers. :)

    • -1

      Q1. No but nice try
      Q2 No but nice try
Q3 If cubed under 20kg to 25kg many couriers will take it

      • Thanks a lot for your prompt reply/answers.

      • Q1: It would depend on the seller's T&Cs if within the return window, but likely you're already past that.
Q2: Yes, provided your Plus subscription is not currently active. eg. if one cancelled a yearly plan months ago it'll still be active until the entire year runs out.
Q3: You need to research and compare as it varies, e-go.com.au is very budget friendly (part of Hunter Express group)

        • Many thanks, @Junk Sifter, for some good news and really appreciate for your time.
Q1: yeah, i think the return window is gone.
Q2: I started to recall i cancelled the free trial years ago. So, guess i am not eligible for the $40 cash back even though i don't have an active eBay+ subscription currently.
Q3: Wow, the quote I got from e-go.com just now is the best among the few I've tried so far & almost half of the price of auspost. Once again, BIG thanks for this good info.

          • @fred7: Q2: Then you are eligible. The cancellation of the free trial in the T&Cs is referring to new Plus members whose subscriptions are active during their first month free trial period right now. It's to avoid paying out cashback without having the user pay for at least 1 month subscription fee.

            You're welcome.

Heck, I tried to end my active (but already cancelled) sub yesterday but support wouldn't do it and told me it has to let itself run out at the end of the month. So gutted I can't take advantage of this. 🙁

  • I cancelled my eBay trial long time ago. Does that mean I am unable to utilize $40 cashback?

  • Just signed up, didn't get any vouchers though 😄

  • No tracking yet..

  • Tracked at $5?

    • It only says up to $40

    • $5 is for the monthly subs
$40 is for the yearly subs

      • I'm an existing user with a long-since expired Plus membership; I did the $49 annual sub which tracked at $5.

        Odd.

        • Mine only in click history so far.
Will have to keep an eye on it.

          • @G-rig: mine also not tracked at all- 2 days and waiting

            • @Kahbo: Should be ok or will have to chase up
Could have just accepted the $30 to stay but didn't need anything at the time.

            • +3

@Kahbo: Hey @Kahbo, @G-rig, and @Feelsbad, Tracking for eBay Plus subs can take up to 5 days to track, so that is likely to account for any delays, if you notice tracking at an incorrect amount of a lack of tracking after 5 days, definitely reach out to me, happy to get this looked at by the team.
