$35 Cashback on 12-Month $49 eBay Plus Subscription @ ShopBack (New & Reactivated Subscriptions)

1090

From the store rep:

eBay Plus have updated their terms with us to say that Cashback isn't to be used in conjunction with any other offer, so it's a risk to try and redeem both Cashback and any vouchers offers they're running because whilst it'll likely track they might invalidate the Cashback at a later date, so I'd say use your discretion as to whether you try and stack here.

better to use this when they are running ebay are running the $49 cashback and then combine it with this as either way you get your money back

    • +2

Haven't seen ebay running $49 GC , for long time now.

  • +3

eBay Plus membership worth no more than $1 a year, or $1 a year in my opinion.
Have only used the free postage once in the whole year I joined.
Would prefer $14 Amazon yearly prime membership instead. LOL

    • Who so many negs ?

      • +1

Those were introductory specials. They aren't likely to occur again. It's a bad reason.

        • +3

I mean they're not wrong, how much have you bought from eBay in the past year.

It used to be an auction site, now it's a budget Amazon (or overpriced AliExpress).

    • How'd you get Amazon so cheap?

      • -1

        F

      • They aren't.

I think they are trying to say, they want this same deal, but for Amazon Prime.

Doesn't make enough sense because prime is $59 p/a
And nobody is offering $45 Cashback for that…

    • I agree + from me

  • Stack with previous deal? :)

  • +27

I haven't had Ebay plus for 15 months now and I don't feel like missing anything.

    • +15

You haven’t missed anything, I hardly even use eBay nowadays. Amazon Prime’s value bundle with Prime Video, Music etc is way better bang for your bucks :)

      • +5

That depends on what you buy. They don't have most things many of us need, and expensive for smaller electronic items as an example only. I am not saying Ebay is brilliant but Amazon is only good for more expensive items and selection is very limited unfortunately.

        • +10

I tend to disagree as I am buying more than half of my regular household items from Amazon now, mostly with their subscribe and save. It works out to be a lot cheaper than super markets and convenient doorstep delivery

        • +1

Yeah you are right but if are willing to wait you can get same stuff from aliexpress too

        • +1

They don't have most things many of us need

Maybe you have very specific needs but given their business model is to have a lot of things most people need, this statement is unlikely to be true

Amazon is only good for more expensive items and selection is very limited unfortunately.

I have gotten toilet paper and almond milk from Amazon cheaper than what I can get it from the supermarket for. Amazon is very good for some inexpensive items and their selection is quite excellent in many categories.

        • Yeah. I do pickup niche items from eBay especially replacement parts and they do have some good deals. So while I use Prime more, I certainly am happy with discounted eBay plus.

      • Was thinking the same, haven't used ebay in a couple years.

        Amazon 👍

  • +20

Barely use eBay anymore considering these days it’s pretty much just an overpriced AliExpress.

    • +4

Strangely, last time i used it, item was cheaper at eBay, but thats a rare case.

    • +2

Yep, Amazon for urgent, Aliexpress for super cheap not at all urgent.

Ebay covers a couple of items but very few and selling on there is a jokeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
      The fees are a disgrace.

      • Isn't the selling fees approx same at both ?

        • +1

I mean I don't know how to sell used at Amazon? I'm talking for normal person? Gumtree and Facebook free, eBay super high fees, so bad I don't consider anymore.

  • +3

I bought some stuff with the eBay plus "voucher". Seller sent me the wrong thing, and sent me a refund.

Ebay kept the refund! I contacted chat, and they reissued me the voucher. Went to use it yesterday, and discovered the expiry date of the 'new voucher was shorter than the original and I missed the expiry. Contacted chat and they say it's gone.

    • +11

      eBay suck.

    • Yes, this is an example in the customer's disadvantage. But there are some stupid setting in customer's advantage that people do not mention, rarely talk about or keep to themself.

  • +4

eBay has really dropped off. I use Amazon 1000x more than eBay nowadays. Prime for like $7/mo is such a good deal with the next day shipping alone 😂

    • +2

Not to mention free prime games

    • +2

Prime for cheap small items is expensive can't beat eBay for random AliExpress items for less than 3 dollars

      • Have you noticed how much more aliexpress has become?

  • +4

Unless its $50 cashback… not going to fall for these tricks

  • +1

I've read horror stories over the years about how difficult it is to stop paying for ebay plus once you start. Is that still the case?

    • -1

Wait until you read about the earth being flat…

    • +2

Recently cancelled my sub with no issues whatsoever, they did try to retain me with a 30 dollar voucher but after that no further contact

    • I used a trial way back and cancelled it, but have had ebay plus for free for years now , go figure

On a different note, i didnt renew the paramount plus $6 deal, but its still working 2 weeks after end of 12 months

    • I dont use ebay plus on principal because of how they charged me after I had cancelled. Didn't bother with support, just decided to limit my spending on eBay going forward.

  • +9

Not to mention they just take your $49 but don't fulfill on delivering the monthly $5 coupons.

    • +1

They issue them randomly. Still haven't figured out their cycle. And can only see them in the desktop mode. Complicated is it to send a email on the 1st of each month Ebay??

      • I have received several time of $5 off $15 spend that can be hardly beaten by other platforms. It seems just appearing in your account, not by email.

  • Mind you I just got a promo saying plus $20 voucher when signing up again so if that ties in its $6 more then $49 value ^^

    • I don't think it can be stacked with that $20 voucher.

  • +3

I would say the Shopback tracking with eBay Plus isn't fixed as I had to manually add it twice last time (after the first add it disappeared after a day)

  • So my renewal date is Oct 10th, guessing I can't make use of this deal?
Perhaps I need to cancel (not renew) and wait for next deal or some targeted offer.

  • Is it possible to reactive your membership when it hasn't expired yet? I.e I cancelled before paid period expired.. I still have a few months left

    • +2

You have to wait till your existing paid-for membership period expires before you can re-subscribe.

      • Create a new account.

  • +1

I prefer this deal than the $50 voucher because that can't be used alongside other deals, and it's also only valid for 30days. IMO you're better off with the $35 you can use as you please!

I'm outta luck tho. My membership expires in Nov.

  • How long it takes to track? Join last night still no tracking

    • +1

It can take up to 5 days, but based on the previous similar deal that ended on 15 Sept, there was a delay in a day or two

  • Bookmarked lolz

  • Why's this listed as ending Oct 13 but in the app it says ending in three days?

    • +1

13 Oct is correct based on the info that I received from GYB
