Currently ~$400 including delivery and GST anywhere else I can find it. The 8GB/256GB version was last on here in May at $320 and the 6GB/128GB version in March at $260 so this seems pretty good.

Apparently the camera is surprisingly good in regular light for a budget phone although it looks like video stabilisation is pretty absent and as with most budget phones it's still bad in low light.

Screen: 6.43", 1080 x 2400 pixels, 90Hz AMOLED
Processor: Mediatek Helio G96 2.05GHz
Camera: Triple, 64MP+8MP+2MP
Battery: 5000mAh
Antutu v9: ~335,000
Geekbench: ~1,750

        • Damn, good for you. If they've landed in the country you'll get them, mine were cancelled without any updates after being shipped.

    • @tecchy How did you receive 2 seperate orders when everyone elses got cancelled including OP's who ordered 8hrs before even posting the deal? Doesn't make sense. What day/times did you order?

      • +2

First order on 11/10. Then got refunded like every one else.
Second order on 12/10, arrived by Australia post on 18/10.

I then spoke to an Amazon rep using the online chat to check I was refunded, but he refused to send a new one or pay the difference. He would not budge and kept saying that the order was undeliverable. I was firm and said that I purchased it fairly during the lightning sale and should not be paying more now. Finally I was passed to the higher level support who offered to refund me $121 for the price difference, although he didn't seem to be very happy about it and just ended the chat as soon as I accepted the offer…
I've placed a new order now and hopefully arrives this time.
Seems to me that it was a pricing error and they were trying to use the delivery excuse to cancel the orders.

Hmmm I guess you just got lucky.

I also spoke with cs and placed another order but im certain I and everyone else wont get the new order either.

I've had this "return/refund" issue a few times now and every time tracking shows "Package departed an Amazon facility, Rochester, Kent GB" and will sit there for a couple of weeks until the refund email comes in. Take a guess where my new order has been sitting for 5 days…

          • @Villainous: Great, my new order sitting there as well. :(

  • New order shipped, let's see if it makes it this time around. Sent via Auspost Global again.

  • Same issue, my order was refunded without notice today, had to contact the rep who promised a refund of the difference once the new order is delivered.

same issue, got the refund email, contacted support but the rep assured me the item is in transit and would be delivered on 29/10. I have to wait till that day to complain again ..poor communication

Yeah, same here. I was told on text chat it would be definitely by delivered 3 Nov.

So then I phoned them, and then they said not, order is cancelled. Have a $10 voucher.

  • I bought 2 on 10 Oct that were due last Fri 29 Oct. Amazon's site say they arrived at the Rochester, Kent Amazon facility on the 13th, were picked up by the carrier on the 14th, that they are late, should arrive today at the latest, and that I should come back tmw for a refund if they don't. Not hopeful 😒

Update: So, yeah, same deal as everyone else here: they don't want to honour the sale; they want to issue a refund and have me reorder the phone at the undiscounted price. We should band together and file a class action lawsuit.

      • Complain to their customer service team. They will honour the initial sale price. Your have to be persistent and push them to give it to you. I was given the credit difference up front. I purchased it again. Now waiting to see if it ships.

        • I did. The guy was adamant "replacement was not an option" ("replace" what?? They sold me something and never delivered! That's theft!!). Straight to the OFT. Will see how we go.

          • +1

@wisdomtooth: Well, I have purcahsed it again, and guess what, it is stuck again after it was departed from Rochester, Kent GB, no further updates for a week now. it is not looking positive…

@sanssh: I'm beginning to think that Amazon doesn't have the stock and are waiting on Xiaomi to fill the orders.

              • +1

@nekov: Then the tracking probably shouldn't have come from GB, should it? I ordered a POCO F3 from Amazon UK last year or so, it ended up with the same outcome, order returned and refunded.

                • @sanssh: I chatted with another rep earlier today. I notified them I denounced Amazon's deceptive commercial practice to the OFT. To that they replied the phones would be resent, and they would email a new ETA. We'll see… I highly encourage everyone here to do the same, so the OFT sees this is not an isolated incident, but rather business (mal)practice.

                  • @wisdomtooth: Update: They processed the refund contrary to my express insistence I did not want a refund, but the phones delivered. They have, however, made up for the difference in price, which is now $435, almost twice the price I paid, with a gift card. Fingers crossed, and eye on the prize, and I might just score these phones for free in a couple of weeks on Black Friday 😃

                • @sanssh: When I check the tracking, all it says is "Shipping information received by APG", same as last time. Maybe when the courier comes to pick it up, there's nothing there ? All very dodgy.

  • Oh wow, tracking has updated. fingers crossed

"Package arrived at a carrier facility
    Lon, GB"

    • This is good to hear, mate, at least you got an update. Mine is still stuck at "Shipping information received by APG"…

    • Mines been stuck with the message carrier picked up the package since the day I placed the order. It was the same message I got last time before it got cancelled. It's not looking good

      • +1

My second order is also stuck in "Lon GB" from 4th November. No other update since then. I had a delivery time for yesterday expire, and I see it's now expected between 12th November - 16th November with a note saying: "We are very sorry that your delivery is late. If you have not received your package by 16 November, you can come back here the next day for a refund"

Not happy at all and don't understand why this is so hard, nor why there seems to be so many hold ups here. I feel I've been tricked into locking away my money into the Amazon ecosystem for nothing. Just want it to deliver so I can move on.

  • Anyone who re-ordered received theirs yet? My order from 28/10 is still on the way, but no other updates. Hopefully, don't get refunded again.
My accessories for the phone from AliExpress was even faster to arrive

    • Ordered 26/10, delivery date is tomorrow, I don't think they'll make it.
Latest update today is "Parcel eManifested for Departure"

      • Just got refunded again after waiting 3 weeks since re-ordering with all the refund dramas! That means it's close to 6 weeks since the original order. They must be doing this on purpose to cover up a pricing error

  • I reordered, this second one has been in London since 1st November. Hmmmm

    • I reordered on 26 Oct. Was shipped on 26 Oct. Arrived in London on 3 Nov. Left London this morning (Fri 11 Nov), and the shipping information was received by AusPost this evening. So I'm hopeful it will arrive in the country this weekend and be with me next week. We'll see……

      • AusPost has it and it is now on its way from Sydney to Adelaide.

  • Does the amazon credit have an expired date? Can I wait till the Black Friday to order?

The found the credit only work on mobile phone & amazon AU only.

  • Like everyone else, my first order has been cancelled claiming it was lost.
Got on the chat and demanded a replacement. Initially they refused but then they asked me to buy the inflated priced replacement and they would refund me the difference after the phone is shipped.
Ordered the 2nd phone 26/10 and again got on the chat and requested the price difference. Now they want to refund me in Amazon gift cards so i refused and asked the refund to be back to my card. Finally they agreed and refunded me.

History repeats itself with the replacement and it was overdue the delivery date. Got really pissed off early in the week but finally the phone was delivered today.

My advice is be persistent and dont take no for an answer. I got on chat today and demanded $50 as a compensation, the initial agent said no so i asked to escalate to a manager. Again, he said the manager will not offer a compensation but guess what, he said yes

    • My second order got cancelled again. Something is really screwed up with the stock levels of this phone. I give up. Wasted almost 2 months.

      • Same here

  • Got mine today as well.
    Thanks OP
