I like to see you hammer drilling, for sure

lol, for reals though, the battery feels loose as in this thing.

        • Honestly want to check but I got it as a Chrissy present for someone else.

I do have a similar drill and it doesn't really wiggle (maybe slightly but not in a noticeable way). Like if I jiggled the whole drill with my hand I wouldn't feel it.

  • Bunnings site is down for the count. Which of ya ozbargained it

Planned maintenance, they’ve been advertising it on PP for a couple of days.

how does this drill go on for concrete? how about bricks?

    • I have a brushed hammer drill. Works well with brick.
This brushless one must be stronger than the brushed one.

      • Soft bricks only.

They're terrible on the harder style bricks.

      • Yeah I find I typically use it on grout anyway when in putting up hooks and stuff. I've got the brushed one also

    • It depends how often you are going to use it. This is going to be a very slow masonry drill. You will really want a rotary hammer drill if you are drilling more than one hole.

    • Bad.

If you want to drill masonry, then spend $100 on one of these - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1500w-5j-rotary-hammer-dri…

They make very light work of anything !

    • Simple holes for wall anchors etc this is fine. If you are planning on deep holes in reinforced concrete, get the SDS (rotary Drill). SDS also can be used as a jackhammer, so its great for demo work, like removing bricks, tiles etc.

  • Already have the bigger size ryobi hammer drill….hmmm do I need the compact one?

  • For anyone in SA. Woodville is showing as in stock, but went there and the guy said they don't actually have any from checking earlier.

Picked one up from Airport, was still at least a few on the shelves but I'd call up first if you're going.

Anyone know how this would compare to the usual Ozito brushless kits posted on OzB?

  • I was just told their warehouse has pallets of these and to expect another big reduction soon. Perhaps like the two previous price cuts?

Not sure how accurate that is but I bought one as I was already there.

    • Good way to get cheap(er) batteries I suppose even if you have one already.

      • how many batteries needed?

        • Depends how much of this stuff you have. If you use a line trimmer, blower, mower, etc and are doing the work on one day a week/month, then you need a few.

A trimmer runs out of juice in like 15 minutes on a 5ah battery, which isn't all that much time if you have a bigger job.

Also for some jobs you're better off with a 2ah (drilling) than a bulky 5ah. But a 2ah on a line trimmer isn't great.

    • Might leave mine unopened then and wait it out.

  • Does anyone have any understanding of the reasoning behind their delivery limits?
I live less than 100km from a capital city and I am not eligible for delivery on any items - really baffles me a modern company can't figure out online ordering to "semi-rural" Australia.

Seems like to be eligible for delivery you literally have to live near a Bunnings store which is beyond ridiculous. Those are the people who can just go to the store!

It's easier for me to literally buy shit from China than from Australia's largest hardware store.

My Bunnings delivered me the kit with two batteries and the tool bag for the same price. Pretty happy. Thanks OP!

  • got a couple…thanks OP

    • why couple?

      • need a couple for threesome

I just want a normal drill for regular DIY jobs.

Is this item a normal drill or has some additional attribute?

    • It's a normal drill plus 2 more functions - hammer drill and screwdriving.

    • +1

It looks a bit bigger and heavier than ozito ones but someone might comment on this.

      • Can’t comment if it’s heavier but it feels great in the hand and just the right weight with a 2aH battery.

  • Thanks mate, ordered one.

  • Went out nice and early and picked one up this morning. Didn't really need it but it got me out of the house!!!

    • That's the way. Well done. Reason not needed.

Get up, get dressed, go out, get out of the house.

Anyone think we could purchase the drill, make use of it, and if the drill comes up cheaper later, using the $135 receipt. Repurchase at the cheaper price but return at the $135 price? Cheeky I know, but if they have lots of stock, my ozbargain senses are tingling

    • if the drill comes up cheaper later,

      how far later?

    • Cheeky ?

      That's fraud.

I don’t own or know anything about drills, but could someone tell me if this hammer drill is compatible with the hex shank brush set? It says it works for drill drivers and impact drivers, but there’s nothing about hammer drills. I looked at the specs for the ONE+ HP Compact Drill Driver and it looks very similar.

    • +1

That should fit fine in any standard chuck, including this one.

This might be a silly question, but is it possible to turn off the hammer action when you don't want it on with this one?

I'e tried to look on the site and manufactures site too

I want a drill that has the hammer action when I need it, but for some tasks that don't need it, i.e tap refacing, I don't want it hammering.

    Is this possible?

Looks like this deal is still on so might get it today.

    • I've never seen a drill where you can't disable the hammer … that would make it pretty useless for a whole bunch of things !!

  • ok is it just me or the bunnings website has and error for this product?
