Yup. You even get to take shirt off their backs not just the leather jacket.

    • HODL for RDNA3. 🦧

  • +2

How many bot-coins can it forage per hectare of fan space?

  • +1

Genuine question for all the commenters complaining about the price and / or wishing they had the money to buy one: what would you actually use it for if you could afford it?

Outside of a few highly specific use cases, there's very little this card can do that can't be done by the 3090 or even the 12GB 3080.

    • +3

But it adds inches to the e-peen

    • gives free reign to developers to release titles that are rich in visuals without having to worry about backward minimum specs…

    • It's the first genuine 4K gaming card. Those of us with 4K high refresh rate monitors never thought we'd see the day. Only thing that stopped me buying one is the size of the cards, none of them fit in my case.

      • none of them fit in my case.

You buy a new case silly. 🤪

    • +3

I have a 4k 120hz monitor and my 6800XT can't run many games at max settings. This card can run every single game in existence in 4k 120+fps if you turn on DLSS3.
You might say that is silly and I can agree to that, but there is still reason to get this card.
I'm wondering if we will need a new Crysis so nvidia can convince people to buy next gen cards.

      • Agree, needs a next gen 3A to persuade consumer.

    • FOMO

its the same with CPUs, laptops etc..

from my time here, there are quite number of people on ozb with a lot of disposable income.

for me, i don't like to upgrade often, i like to buy once and use for many years into obsolescence. Guess which model would I try to go for?

      • Radeon 9700?

        • Trident VGA!
          lol.

    • +1

Run games at their absolute optimum.

      4K max settings, 120fps.
This is currently the only card that can do that across nearly all games, not just racing games, shooters and Indies.

As one reviewer said, they don't have to tinker with graphics settings anymore. Put everything to max and enjoy.

Finally all those LG OLEDs everyone has can be used to its full potential.

  • Shows RSP is $3499, is this true?

    • Pccg has realistic prices I believe

  • +4

I thought that people who bought a 4090 on release would be regretting paying so much after the inevitable price cuts, I just didn't realise it would happen the very morning of release lol.

    • +1

      Yep. It's a good sign.

Let's see if we can get $250 used 3070s by Christmas.

  • Thanks. Gonna cash in my life insurance and get this for the kid.

  • +1

Damn, costs 3 times as much as my pc

  • +1

I think I will keep my PlayStation

  • +3

Can I speak to Muzzeb? The last order placed, I need to change the delivery name and address.

  • Thanks, I had to buy 3 because I wanted to add 72GB of RAM to my PC. Hope DDR6 is significantly better than my current DDR4, this RAM is not cheap.

  • I've no idea what this is or what it does, but came up in my notifications as a trending deal, of more than 30 votes in 30 minutes.
Apparently this is pretty popular and a bargain too.

    • This is a GPU that people will say they can afford, but really most ozbargainers can't.

      • I can afford it but i dont want one. So theres that.

        • +3

As you can see OP commenter: Just like that, we have our first person to brag that they can afford it.

          • -2

@checkingthisout: Its not a brag. Its more i like to spend money on other things. I have no use for a $2.8k video card as i dont play that much games nor do i do any video rendering or any graphic intensive computer work. But hey. If that helps you sleep well at night. Then you do you.

For more context i gave away a brand new $1200 laptop to a friend because they needed it for their freelance work. Being they are the breadwinner of the family. It was a help i was more than willing to give them.

            • @xoom: I didn't down vote you btw, but saying you didn't brag about being rich enough to get the RTX 4090, by then bragging about being rich enough to give your friend a $1200 laptop is kinda funny irony.

              • -4

@checkingthisout: Never said i was rich. If being able to afford a $2.8k gpu is considered rich. Damn these people dont know the meaning of the word.

As for giving my own $1200 laptop to a friend is bragging? Then people like that aint seen those folks on youtube/instagram and facebook.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • +2

Equivalent to the US rrp + 10% GST. I'd wait for a 10% off ebay deal

  • Not a bad price actually

  • +1

    Cheapest local you can find

  • Credit where it's due. It's cheap for a 4090 today.

  • +4

    Suddenly a PS5 doesn't seem so expensive.

    • +1

Yeah even the price gouged bundled console.

  • +1

Jensen's leather jackets keep getting more expensive.

  • +1

Whoever buys this will be flexing their virtual muscles to everyone they know and don't know online as much as possible saying they have this card.

Some people will buy it for that reason alone and hardly put game hours on it , compared to the random bloke who still has a gtx 1080 and puts 100 times more game hours on his card In the same time frame. I have more respect for the gtx 1080 bloke

  • Do you guys use it for bitcoin mining?

    • +1

Nobody has successfully used a GPU for bitcoin mining in the last 10 years

    • Bitcoin miners use ASIC miners, they're built specifically for mathematics calculations, there are rigs for that, this was for Ethereum mining, now that's POS good luck selling these at this price for long.

  • +3

    But Can It Run Crysis?

    • +2

Microsoft flight sim in the new benchmark.

      • +1

Unfortunately we will need a new one as this card can drive that at 200+ fps 4k :(

  • +1

    Does it have rgb?

    • Gotta have rgb. Not a gaming gpu if it dont have rgb.

  • +8

damn, wife caught me looking at this and I had to tell her I was looking at only-fans to avoid embarrassment…

    • Im on the hub. Honest.

  • should be another 400 dollar drop since in Asian market like China the preorder price is around 12000 RMB

  • Are there any builds with this card in them?

I've got no idea if I get this card, what machine do I use, I've been out of PC gaming for years but keen to get back in

    • Wait for the prebuilt machines with this gpu.

      Ready the kidneys to sell.

    • No it's just released. You'll have to wait a bit (though even if you are loaded and a gaming fanatic, it's obviously terrible bang for buck, a powerful PC with a slightly slower GPU would cost less than this card alone).

  • -3

4090 decimates the 3090 and 3090 ti, the price tho isn't to bad, even if you go with a 3090 you really need to ask what you need it for.

    4090 buys you:

1 ai driven acceleration under Ada's architecture to push rtx in a Verity of games being new and old, but you must buy into the 4000 series cards monopoly.

2 No Sli, but capable performance even if dueled for computational stuff like blender, or game development.

    3090 buys you:

1 sli capabilities at the same price of 1 4090, giving you 48gig of ram for those crazy tasks that you need (that is if you were doing stuff in substance painter and needed to create true blue texture assets.

2 cheaper price, but gutted performance compared to the 4090, but if you can work around rtx and not be bothered about dlss then the 3090's a great card.

Or wait til rdna3 comes out and see what amd has to offer.

    • +1

I'm still waiting for AMD/ATI to offer drivers that don't suck, 20+ years and counting

      • -1

        hehe Riva TNT2 FTW!

      • They don't suck now.

        • +1

My 3700X and 5700XT beg to differ

          • @dav3: i'm curious, i have a 3700x also, and why does it suck (from a driver perspective)?

          • @dav3: I am curious. What issues do you have. Zero issues for me with AMD.

          • @dav3: As would anyone trying to run modern console emulators like rpcs3 (ps3), ryujinx (switch), and still even today PCSX2 (ps2) among others.

      • -1

What and nvidia didn't make drivers to melt peoples cards and start house fires years ago, they are both the same on the whole.

    • sli hasn't been relevant for like 5 years now

  • +2

Posted on a site with Bargain on it…

    • Well.. technically it is a bargain.

      • What if next gen they boost the price to 10k but 2k off on promo (still 8k). Is that still a bargain?

  • +4

LOL, so many joke posts from poverty PC gamers.

    • +7

      Ghetto gamers gotta represent.

    • +5

Mummy and Daddy bought you one yet?

      • LOL I should be the daddy buying one for my kid.
Still happily gaming with my 3080 :)
You start saving your dole money for one?

        • -1

Interesting priorities. Gaming over taking care of the kids.

          • +1

@Heaps for Cheaps: Some can actually do both. Not everyone is on the poverty line.

            • +1

@pharcyde: Uhhh, gaming steals your most valuable resource, time.
I mean, if your kids don't want to be around you I guess go for it, or if you don't want to act your age and be responsible.

              • +5

@Heaps for Cheaps: Yes I am sure no sensible person has any other hobbies outside of taking care of their kids, and this definitely isn't salty cope from a poverty gamer.

                • -1

                  @pharcyde: Don't be a deadbeat. Do better.

                  • @Heaps for Cheaps: I for one am annoyed my taxes went to paying for your GTX 1060.

                    • -1

                      @pharcyde: That's not better, that's a loser mentality.

                      • @Heaps for Cheaps: This may be of use to you. Feel free to PM me if you need additional help or want to borrow some money.

                        • -1

@pharcyde: It's concerning you want to help me with making money, but only by taking our contact off a public thread and into private messaging. Is it sex stuff? !!!Stranger Danger!!!
                          sick 🤮

          • +1

@Heaps for Cheaps: Ohh Heaps for Cheaps, you must be the world parent of the year winner, now sitting on your high horse telling other parents what to do.

        • +2

Interesting calling people who don’t want to spend 3k on a graphics card a “poverty gamer”, yet you only own a 3080

          • @cille745: Because I am more than happy with the 3080 I bought this year. Why buy a new GPU when I don't need one.

    • lol

    • +1

bought the box, saving up for the card.

    • You get preformance lifts for free more or less as you wouldn't upgrade if you didn't. Seems people with money can be stupid too.

    • You don't see the funny side of a GPU priced at least 5 times what it's worth?

  • +2

Definitely getting one to drive my OLED 4k 120hz screen, but not just yet.
Prices are wild right now. Let's wait for the current gen stock to dry and AMD cards get released.
My 6800XT can't run some games the way I want but it can hold a little bit longer!

  • +1

    What are the chances we'll see a RTX 5090 for AUD$5090? Hmm…

  • Thanks op bought three, bargain.

  • what is the ok price for an used RTX3090 in this situation ?

    • +2

      $800

  • SO IT BEGINS

  • Gonna need a bigger case/PSU/overdraft

    • Gonna sell internal organs, pimp arse…… oh wait.

  • +2

Sold my car so that I could buy 3 of them.

    • +1

I might be able to get a half of it lol

    • +2

laughs nervously in a 20 year old corolla

      • They will make you buy a $60,000-100,000 EV soon because no sound reason. Makes a GPU seem unimportant. So i'd be nervous to.
