Does it still come with a null printer cable?

    • No cable.
      Download only!

  • Idk if im not understanding, but paying almost $50 just to move files? Just put ur files on an external ssd and move them there. Download anything else u need

This software is approved by Microsoft and moves/copies user profiles and all the data etc within. It’s much more complete than just copying files to an external drive. It will transfer windows settings, preferences, wallpapers, and heaps more. Ideally the user won’t even notice they are on a new physical device.

It’s suited mostly to enterprise use for when computers are swapped or upgraded.

      • Is it a lifetime upgrade?

          One time use.
So can transfer files from one PC to another PC.
If you need to do it again to another PC, need to buy it again.

Man this brings back so many memories. Laplink. A true blast from the past.

  • +2

Yep, brings back memories alright. Used Laplink back in the 1980's for work and made my own null modem cable so I could also use it at home (if was too expensive for me to buy for myself). A friend working at another company had the competing product "Brooklyn Bridge"… anyone else remember that?

Oh if only the later generations could have witnessed the fun we had seeing computers and peripherals move from floppies, serial cables, dot matrix printers, monochrome monitors and bulletin boards, 1200 baud modems to what we have today. What a ride! We went from understanding tech inside out to today's assessment that whatever is the shiniest and has the best packaging must be the best tech (looking at you Apple).

The kids of today wont know our struggles. Having to cut notches on 5.25" floppy diskettes to make them double sided.

Making your own null modem cables, serial cables. Changing jumpers on motherboards and flicking dip switches to configure a cpu to a particular board.

  • I can still remember dos 3.1 and writing batch files with replaceable variables. Ask any of the "windows" techs in most computer stores these days how to do anything without a gui and most teens are stumped, remember the use of copy con: vividly
