$1589 from the same place 2.5 years ago - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/515861

    Some real hyperinflation there

In Thailand where these are actually made, they are going for about $1700 AUD

Like everything Honda in Australia, massively overpriced

    • Our pricing is very compatible in Australian market free shipping to Australia wide including, Australian 4 year consumer guarantee

    • Seriously, look at houses 2.5 years ago - less. Fuel 2.5 years ago - less. Did you know that when I was a kid minimum chips was 20 cents! Clearly my local chippy shop is oned by Hampton MowerCentre to dare increase prices over the years….

Who wants to be camping next to a noisy petrol generator anyway? Taking that city sound to the bush with you.. Battery generators are where it's at in 2022

So your Tesla can get some top up when you are out and about. The eu32i is the best, small yet powerful.

Not sure why they call battery a generator. Battery is battery.

What the hell is a battery generator?

What the hell is a battery generator?

Certain companies like making up their own terminology, Outbax camping being one of them …

When you are out in the great outdoors camping, and you fancy running a few appliances to get your coffee hot and charge your phone, you might need a battery generator

      • Haha you got me, caught out on lack of sleep.

I meant to say a battery station like the EGO here:
        https://www.amazon.com/EGO-Power-PST3040-Portable-Included/d…

Not sure why I couldn't find the Australian version but point is, petrol is being phased out where batteries are an alternative.

I love Honda, have Honda line cutter and 21" mower but I'm gradually switching everything to the EGO line. Just, better, easier. Each to their own though.

They serve two different purposes. I use a petrol generator in addition to the solar panels, lithium batteries and inverters in my caravan and 4x4. I'm traveling long term pretty much exclusively on unpowered camp sites and you can't always depend on getting enough solar to top up your batteries, especially if you use a lot of power. I don't really mind the generator being on, either. I usually put it 30m or so away if I can so I can't hear it, but if I have to put it closer, it isn't usually so loud that I can't just ignore it for the hour or two that it's on.

The last point I'll make is that if you need to power high wattage appliances here and there while camping, a generator is the cheapest way to go. Way cheaper than buying multiple batteries, big inverter, solar panels, and expensive battery chargers, plus all of the wiring, terminals, fuses/breakers, cost of getting it wired up if you don't know what you are doing. I haven't ever seen a decently priced battery station like the one you posted, and I've never seen anybody use one either, not in almost 2 years of travel. I have seen heaps of generators being used, though.

    • Honda have quietest models in the outback you need efficient reliability to last

  • Price gouging during floods. Oh dear.

  • I've seen these on facebook ads for like $50. Although the difference here is they will actually ship you a real product unlike the fb ad.

    • For $50 you only get a photo of one
