All your baseus are belong to us.

    • Interesting - I bought a 30000 65w powerbank from the last deal - they sent me another because the 1st died within a day. The 2nd lasted around 2 hours - both fail to charge… Maybe a bad batch but just returned them today! Tempted by this one but would have preferred the 30000mah

      • Yeah, mileage may vary. My first two romoss power banks were DOA but the last two have been solid.

This will be my first baseus power bank so hoping it's good. Btw, any power banks over 26800mah require airline pre-approval so something to consider.

      • I got the 20000mah 65w during last sale. Charged it 3 or 4 times from 15% capacity. All seems good. Doesn't even gets warm during changing, though I am changing it with stock phone charger.

    would prefer different form factor

  • Sadly mine was DOA but didn't know this until a month later when I had to use it.

Yeap, It is always an idea to open anything new and check it works.

With power banks, perhaps consider fully charging (as should be around 75% out of the box). Then fully discharge followed by a recharge back to 100%. This way it gets calibrated and hopefully at the same time you will know if something was amiss. If faulty can then return.

  • https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004801381350.html - I just saw this on Aliexpress - very likely not legit but thought I'd put it out there… the 65w is listed for $28 or so also!

      0.0% Positive feedback

Why would you throw away money like that?

Different things i.e. that one is 30000 mAh and chunkier and made up of 18650 batteries. Max output 65w. Is cheaper by over $10.
The one here is slimmer and perhaps nicer looking and made up of a battery pack.Max output 100w.

Personally I prefer power banks that contain 18650 batteries as can be replaced down the line. Ultimately, it comes down to what you want it for and whether form factor/size is important.

Pity none include DC output socket as they are handy for powering other things.

      • Wanting to charge up my mini laptop via usb c as 45w is what’s Required so 65w vs 100w is more faster charging I presume ?

Looking at the specs as a comparison, don’t really understand the rated capacity meaning, 18000 vs 12000

        And also energy conversion

        • @Temptation:100w does not mean faster and only representa max capable output. Volts x Amps = Watts.

Check your notebooks power adaptor to see what it says i.e.the output Volts & Amps. Then check what output the power banks include. Both offer a selection of capable voltage output where as the max amps on the 30k one is 3.5Amps, where as the one in this post is 5 Amps. If your notebook doesn't require 5a then it will never utilise it.

Also, Energy Conversion is going to be the same across them all for the most part so not really applicable here.

      • Where does it say it's made up of 18650 batteries?

        • Look at the picture down the page under "High Capacity". I have also found that most of the fatter ones when disassembled contain 18650's. Not all but most.

          • +1

@Borg: That is an image describing how it isn't like the photo on the right, but is like the photo on the left. It's saying that the one on the right, with the 18650s, is inferior, not that it has 18650s inside.

            • +1

@lulzenberg: Oh yeah, good spot, I see what you mean. I never even read each comment and glanced over the pics!
One has to laugh at that description i.e. "if capacity is low, it runs out of power after a few times" What a rubbish comment unless a dodgy 18650 was used. Same issue would occur if a dodgy single power cell pack was used…like below comment noted. :-)

              • @Borg: Yeah.. they definitely need someone to re-do their description spiel. It wasn't really all that obvious what they were saying unless you compared all of the images to see they are trying to say they are the left and "others" the right.

    • I bought one of these - it died within a couple of days and wouldn't charge - they sent a replacement but that died within 2 hours! Could have just been a bad batch.

  • Yeah i paid $84 last week! Ouch!

  • thanks OP, grabbed one after seeing this has decent reviews

  • for some reason, these 20,000 mAH is CHONKY. far chonkier than the anker with the same capacity and voltage

    • -1

Interesting indeed i.e. Chonky describes animals that are adorably round, plump, pudgy, or otherwise heavier than average. It was originally applied to fat cats, but has since praised dogs, squirrels, otters, and even some humans.

Perhaps you meant CHUNKY i.e. heavy, solid, and thick or bulky :-)

You may find the Anker is thicker but you haven't noted a model to compare against?
