Can anyone who has the knowledge differentiate between this one and the HW-B450/XY Samsung B450 B Series Bluetooth Wireless 2.1 Soundbar/Subwoofer 300W (comes with subwoofer) and even cheaper.

I had the B450, its only connected via Bluetooth. This one has HDMI and hopefully it has a better connection than the B450. I returned mine, and bought the B650, now using it on Samsung Smart Monitor. Sound of B650 is way better than the B450.

    • The B450 lacks most of the features this one has. Besides the lack of a discrete centre channel (used for vocals) the lack of HDMI Arc would be a deal breaker for most buyers.

  • if you're not in a "metro" area, delivery will sting you. Eg: I punched in a Wollongong postcode and shipping was $31.46

I had last years version of this which looks exactly the same minus atmos (not like this one has upward firing speakers anyway).

I paid $280 and even then felt it was lacklustre for the price. The centre speaker was not as clear as I was expecting, and at lower volumes the only word I can think to describe it was “muddy”. Sold it on 6 months ago and started using 2 HomePod minis via an Apple TV 4K. Honestly even that sounds better. Good enough that I’m still using that setup despite thinking it was just a temporary stop gap.

Bottom line; would not recommend this.

I paid $400 for it new, don't think it was marked as being on special either.

I don't think it's worth $400, it's not very loud, sound quality is decent but nothing special and I had a hell of a time trying to get it to work with my Samsung TV via ARC.

If I remember correctly it doesn't have many other input options, something to consider.

I bought it and paid more than I thought it was worth because I thought it would suit the same brand TV better but I now know that was silly.

  • $339.15 delivered on Samsung EPP if you have access to it.
