  • Hi All,

I contacted Sony about their cash back offer terms, which includes this:
"the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount provided by a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer (“Qualifying Purchase”)"
This seems to imply the item has to be full price.

I got a (disappointing) response from Sony. I also rang their promotions call centre on 1300 887 096 beforehand to double-check, and I think a more senior person responded in the email.
It would be good if fellow OzBargainers who have already claimed the cash back offer could provide feedback on whether they've had success with discounted products.

    Good Afternoon,

We hope this email finds you well.

Unfortunately, this purchase is not eligible under the Sony cashback promotion 2022.

Any claims submitted to the Promoter where the purchase was made under another offer or discount by another participating Sony Australia authorised dealer, will not be valid.

Lay-by and purchases from duty-free, discounted or clearance eBay sales, refurbished products from the official Sony Australia eBay store, parallel import stores and second-hand purchases/retailers are excluded from this promotion.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

The Sony cash back offer terms includes this:
"the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount provided by a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer (“Qualifying Purchase”)"

This seems to imply the item has to be full price. Am I reading this correctly?

  • CR 12% cash back and Amex targeted $100 cash back at the moment. Now is a good time if you have been sitting on the fence waiting for a rare trifecta like this!

The cashback is not working, and I called them twice and online chatted with them twice all with case number and NOW i have to log the case to FAIR TRADING

    • What was their reason for rejection?

      • -1

I cant claim the cashback, the website is not allow me to claim, maybe the doggy company dont want people to claim the cashback.Ive tried https://promo.sonyanz.com/redemptions/sony-australia-bonus-c… and this https://sonypromotion.campaign.net.au/digitalimaging2022/Cla… both (profanity)

        • Yes I can see what you meant, it may be a glitch on their website. It's better to work with them so that they figure the web site's problem rather than take out your pitch fork straight away (same with all retailers I find, you get a favourable outcome dealing with them rationally first). Myself and many people here I am sure, have got cash backs from them successfully in the past. I very much doubt it's malicious intent on their part. Sure I had experienced issues with purchases/deliveries in the past with various stores but I mostly had them them resolved amicably to my satisfaction by not by hurling threats or abuses at them.

@Buy2Much: I dont think anyone can get cashback from the website, also Ive chatted and called them so many times. If I have switched couple computers and browsers, there is no way just unlucky.

            • @yuisakas: It was not working 2 weeks ago when I tried, I sent a support email and this week they emailed me saying it was fixed. I tried just now on Chrome, submitted successfully, and got an auto ack email from them. I think you were just being too impatient and not giving them enough time…

And I have chatted before with the online chat comfirm I can get cashback but for the doggy company you never know where they came to you

  • The first page when you choose state it got error: Please enter state/ State should have no number, the second one just can't log in,I have logged in at purchse page but at 2nd page just couldn't log in,everything is right seems logged in but show"An error occurred while processing your request.

    Request time: 09 Nov 22 19:38:16"
