  • What is this a credit card?

    • +1

Its an offer you can get if you hold a Citi Credit Card already. Basically a cash advance but you get a $200 gift card for doing it. The fee works out to be ~$24.75 so its a ~175 profit.

      • Is that fee based on $2500 over 6 months, including interest? Do you save any if you pay off early?

        $2500 x 0.9% = $22.50. Is the rest interest?

        • There is no interest.

          It’s a once off upfront fee %

No, paying it off early does not save you any money

          • @00: Repaying it within 16 wks cancels gift card I think

            • @grasstown: Thanks. My offer (in my account, didn't get email) is 1.45% for 6 months, so FPO fee is $36.25.

              Still probably worth it.

(Just an FYI - the link goes to Ready Credit which is not the same thing.)

Alas, my most recent offer was a 3.99% fee and no gift card, which is no good. Will have to wait to get back onto the Ready Credit gravy train it seems.

  • Cheers applied and got $2501 instant in my account
Cannot figure out how to setup auto pay for installments

    Easy $175 reward

    • Payments automatically deduct/charge to your card account

  • How does this work if you use the credit card? Does it open a separate line of credit to your month to month payments?

    • +1

Whatever you choose to receive takes it off your credit limit. So a $6k limit with the $2.5k citi cash will leave you with $3.5k.

      • Awesome - so I assume you can pay it back separately to using the card?

  • +2

Don't touch this if you are doing Payall, last one ruined my limit and payments until I payed it off in full (thus breaching terms for gift card). Lesson learnt to leave well enough alone

    • Presumably okay if you have the offer on a different card from the one you are using for Payall? Or does it screw the whole account?

      • Nah just screwed the same card , different accounts should be fine

        • If I do 2.5k and still 2k payall every month. Would that work?

          • @freedomofspeech: That's what I tried, but the 2.5k cash adjusted my credit limit by 5k (double). They couldn't fix it, and as such my payalls wouldn't work. Not worth the risk imo

            • @cook99: Ok i see.. took 2.5k which reduced my limit by 2.5k and then for each payment it lowers the limit as well for that month.
Considering just overpaying the credit card by 1 or 2k so it should be fine

              • @freedomofspeech: If you over pay the card that is treated as paying off the Citi quick cash early (ahead of payment schedule) which voids the gift card

  • I have a 0% balance transfer on my card which runs to next May. The same card also has this offer. If I take it up, will it affect the BT?

  • damn it. didn't receive the offer :(

  • does it affect your credit rating? i.e additional credit enquiry?

    • +2

      No

      • thanks, figured that out from previous responses. thanks anyway

  • They must be desperate.

    Recieved same offer today again.
    Previous offer expired 31/10

I called them, and it's a "new cycle", meaning eligible for the $200 giftcard again.

  • Hi all, I applied and received 2500. However I never receive any email re. the 200 e-gift card. Do I receive the email link after few days? Or I will receive the email right after I received the 2500? I got the 2500 few days ago. Thank you so much.

You need to wait 16 weeks for the gift card.

    • Did you get billed for 1st installment yet

  • They still havent billed me for 1st installment so i transferred a monthly amount equivalent to my credit card and it just reduced the monthly installment.

Any insight on how to pay installments

  • Just got yet another $200 egift card offer for the citi quick cash (min $2500 with 0.99% fee)

At this pace i may need to increase my credit limit to allow for one offer per month lol
