  • Im assuming you have to wait until you receive the sim to switch (ie they dont offer e-sim)?

Wow! yeah the 90 days Kogans are all out of stock

    • +2

Miss those, I used them all the time as part of my sim slut plan.

    • I'm not sure if Kogan 90 days Sim are out off stock or they have discontinued that deal.

    • Is Kogan not selling their 90 days plan anymore?

    • +1

I mean Kogan $14.90 for 90 days. The discount ones

20GB/3 months so less than 7GB a month..the value is far worse than it was before..I miss the old 90 days with 20GB per month at $15.

    • Yeah that was a better deal but hasn't been available for a while now. An easy solution if you've got a dual sim phone is to grab some free Boost sims when they get posted & use for data.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. I am so used to the old deal I was about to complain about the extra $5, let alone the three-fold decrease in data.

  • Also they now have VoLTE.

yay! hope they bring in visual voicemail next

  • Esim?

thumbs up for the sim slutting description

Who doesn't love a good bit of Sim Sluttin'?

  • What happens if you activate this after 30 days?

Can port number over to this? Need to sim slut amaysim

    • +1

      Yes

There are usually issues with Optus to Optus porting though (both Amaysim and Catch are on the Optus network)

I would advise porting from Amaysim to a different carrier first then back to Catch.

        • Ah there's issues when optus to optus? Most others are optus these days with Kogan deal gone. Anything you recommend?

          • +1

@JL1: wait for another of those boost/cashrewards deals to come up again. or port to aldi mobile for $5

            • @tdw: Ah so you advice porting to aldi mobile first instead of risking it straight to this?

              • @JL1: you'd probably be fine. i've heard some anecdotes about optus to optus porting taking much longer than usual or hitting snags. i did amaysim -> kogan -> optus for one number and might just leave it with aldi for good (i really like that number lol)

                • @tdw: Thanks for the suggestion, I bought a cheap aldi mobile on special for $4, will then port to Coles. Hope I won't regret getting the Coles mobile if there's another crazy Black Friday Amaysim special!

  • Anyone know if international roaming is included with this plan?

  • Lots of sim sluts in here

  • why don't they make this as long-running deal ?

the last same deal ended a month ago

    • It is long running at $29.00.

  • My wife is using AmaySim at the moment. She complains about the connection strength. Anyone knows if Catch mobile connection is any better than AmaySim? Both uses Optus network.

    • +1

Most likely no difference. Maybe buy a Kogan sim (Voda) and try that.

      • +1

Ok I will try that. However it's annoying not to know when I have to connect if I get the Kogan 365 days / 120gb for $90. On Kogan website says by 31 December but some Ozbargains have stated they received an email says they have to connect by 30 November. If order a $2 Sim from Kogan I probably wont received it by another 5-10 days. I plan to try out for about 7-10 days, then port to another network. I plan to port back to Kogan using that 365 days deal. But if I have to connect by 30 November I won't make it.

        • The website says Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/12/2022. so take a screenshot.
It's against consumer law to mislead & we have the TIO if they refuse. I wouldn't worry.

Anyway I wasn't suggesting to port over, just activate a $2.90 sim with a new number so you can see if it's better than Optus in your area.

  • OP. Can I buy more than one SIM?

    • On Catch website I can read one sentence says "Limit of 50 per customer". And just little below another sentence says "Limit one per customer".
