Apple iPad Mini 6 Wi-Fi 256GB $879 Delivered @ David Jones ($835.05 Price Beat @ Officeworks)

750

Happened to see the 256gb model on sale at David Jones. Grey, starlight, purple and pink colours. Office works price matched for me as it was the same model number. Seems like a good price as I prefer the smaller screen.

I have an iPad Mini and iPad Pro 11inch and think the mini is my preferred size. Happy to recommend for what it's worth :)

    • If you're okay with the size, this is the fastest non m1 iPad. I could see this not working out too great though - as new features during this tablets life may become more and more m1 and above exclusive.

Previously you didnt miss out on too much

If you’re used to an iPad Pro though, the pro motion feature is something you’d miss. The 120Hz makes such a difference.

        • I’ve had every 12.9 Pro since 1st edition and don’t miss anything except the extra real estate going back to Mini.

      • I doubt it.

    • I have an iPhone mini 12 so it’s a good combo so far!

      • Waiting for a mini pro to do this combo (maybe waiting forever).

Didn't like how they added side bezels on this version of the mini. Seems/looks/feels cheaper than the old one (IMO). Better aspect ratio for movies but the same number of pixels as the old one / worse for books. Old mini size was perfect, wish they'd just shrunk top/bottom bezels rather than making them the same size all around. Would be an easier sell if this wasn't so much more $$$.

        • I don’t hate the bezels but they still seem to be touch sensitive so a bit pointless. I miss having Face ID, which the pro versions have… a mini pro would be great. No regrets on purchasing this though it is the perfect size for my use.

    • I had a Mini4 and then bought a Pro for the full screen. I like the mini footprint too. The 11” is a bit big for my bag. The problem is our first mini was under $400 and this price is a tad steep.

What was AUD/USD exchange rate when you bought your first Mini?

        • Good point, I would need to look this up but we are looking at double the price now so I don’t think it would be that bad. However, the new ones are much nicer.

          • +1

@try2bhelpful: Don't forget inflation of the USD along with AUD inflation on top of the lower exchange rate

  • Decent prices given the recent price gouging hikes (education stores included). I think it's been like this for a few days because I checked Amazon recently and they seemed to be matching DJ already.

  • Any deal for smaller storage size?

I find the jelly scrolling on mine actually quite entertaining when I’m killing time

I still have an ipad 2 from almost a decade ago?

Very slow but still works and good battery life. It’s as fast as current model lower end Android tablets, which says a lot about cheap Android junk.

It’s amazing how well the iPads age.

I still have a few lying around. And have tried to switch back to them for a few days. And was pleasantly surprised that I can still browse the web and watch some videos without issues.
