$15 less than JB/HN/TGG/BL, who I am sure would match or beat.

cheaper here with coupon code $1,095

You'd want to use Click and Collect for that, as the $80 postage charge kills the deal (well, it would still be $5 cheaper but you catch my drift).

  • Pretty good tv. Recommend

    • How you have you had it so far may I ask?

you how you have you had it you have had it so how have you had … wat?

      • Were you having sex typing it?

  • $1079 from Samsung EPP

  • Hmm. Hard to make much sense of the very vague display specs.
Is it edge lit, direct led, full array dimming, mini led, QLED??
    IPS or VA?
What the heck is "UHD Dimming"? How many dimming zones?
"Mega Contrast" ?? What is the actual contrast ratio?
"2200 Picture Quality Index" Yup. Got no idea what this means either.

Does anyone know what panels Samsung actually uses on these lower end units?

    • "2200 Picture Quality Index" 😂

If its similar to the prior year model, it is a VA panel with high native contrast ratio; edge lit, see https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/au8000.
I have the previous model and it is a good picture for casual TV viewing. The audio is really very good, no need for a soundbar. It is not going to amaze anyone, but it is good value for money.

    • How is it for sport watching? I need to get my parents a replacement for their Plasma that failed, but keep getting stuck as most TVs in the price range I was looking at ($1200-$1300) seem have average motion flow compared to a Plasma. People told me they'd get used to the new set after a few weeks as their eyes/brain would adjust to it.

      • It is fine for sport, watching free to air footy etc. For good motion processing, either this or a TCL..
