OzBargain is turning 16!

As promised, I will be hosting a 2nd Sydney CBD meetup for those who are unable to attend the Chinatown Butchers Buffet lunch meetup for lunch, with the go-ahead given by @scotty

Date & Time: Wednesday 30th November 2022 at 7pm till late
Location: The Bavarians (York St) Sydney CBD
Address: 24 York St, Sydney NSW 2000
Cap: 55 people
Menu: Choose either $35 'All You Can Eat' Meat (includes free sides offered by manager) OR regular menu

Please note that attendance for this event will be prioritised for those who:

Rest will be filled later depending on cap etc

    So I'm thinking of a Groupon deal at 710 Split Bowling (Fairfield NSW)

    We can do the 12 person/$297 package ($25pp) which includes 2 bowling games, $120 to spend on food and drinks (menu) and 60 arcade tokens

    We have to share $120 on food between 12 people and share 60 tokens - each person gets $10 food, and 5 tokens, 2 bowling games at a rate of $24.75

    There is no limit on vouchers so whatever scotty approves on maximum for the event.

    Won't be in the city but T&Cs allow us Sun-Thurs after 5pm.

      But the Butcher's buffet dinner option is out of budget - He's limiting it to $40. With so many events, we wouldn't want scotty to go broke :)

        Capital thai takes ages to cook and the flame for bbq is not powerful enough

        I haven't been to Talays but the buffet looks pretty similar to capital thai

      I’m currently in contact with both Wingboys and The Bavarians and I’ll see what the best option is (along with the poll results)

      Wingboys currently has AYCE wings with many sauce dressing options + fries for $30pp

      The Bavarians have AYCE meat platters for $35pp + small service fee

      If you don’t want the AYCE, alternatively you can order other items from the menu

          So sorry about that, I've just removed it as it got too confusing and wouldn't work anyway in regards to checking in.

          Everyone who wants to attend should vote "yes" for now

          Those who voted on the deleted options (i.e. The Bavarians or Wingboys) should revote again on the "yes" option - sorry for the inconvenience

        It's always you that isn't suitable with any date aye :P

        As much as I'd love to ideally, we can't really cater for every single person's needs. It'll be pretty much impossible. One date might suit you, but it might no longer suit someone else.

        We can't win in this situation. I'm trying my best. As @kerfuffle said here, feel free to organise one next time if you keep having an issue with the date (However I think @scotty will not allow anymore CBD meetups as he needs to save money and fund other events too).

        That being said, there's the Parramatta event hosted by Cronium, Chatswood event hosted by dust and Strathfield event hosted by impostor. I live in Western Sydney and still I am making an effort to host or attend these events via public transport. The meeting is probably shorter than the train and bus rides to and from my home.

        I hope you can attend some of these events :)

    Quick update

    I’m currently out ATM, however I’ve managed to finalise the booking with the restaurant (The Bavarian, York St (Sydney CBD)).

    Meetup will be Wednesday 30th November 2022 at 7pm

    The general manager was kind to offer some things which I will put in the update tonight

    I also got a sponsor for some freebies to give out at the event too
