wow hows it so low? i wasnt a massive fan but we all have a price….

    • +1

Like you I have tried it and was not a fan, because it's just far too bland. That said, the kids loved it (they tend to view anything that is not bland with utter suspicion). At this price I'm going to buy some if I can find it, and experiment with free ways to jazz it up … like a home-grown herb/salt rub 5 minutes before it's finished, all done in the air-fryer, etc.

      This will be fun.

      • +15

you know, you could just buy those korean chicken chilli sauces and dip them in it..

          • +24

@GnarlyKnuckles: you did say you wanted to jazz it up, i offered a suggestion. :)

i find it's okay as it is, nothing fantastic, not bad either.

for me it's not spicy enough for me, so i'd always go with some chilli sauce.

          • +12

@GnarlyKnuckles: You have mates who give you sliced tomatoes?

            • +8

@smy: Bastards won’t even give him a whole tomato.

          • +1

@GnarlyKnuckles: Wow, 22 downvotes for some simply-phrased opinions/suggestions about cooking cheap frozen chicken and Aldi pizzas. Lesson learned, I guess I'll stop commenting on OzBargain posts for a while.

            • +2

              @GnarlyKnuckles: I gave you a +
Couldn't understand the Negs myself… Bit extreme !

              Keep Commenting !

              • +1

@GC67: It's one of the reasons why I love OZB

                The comments, banter, mud-slinging etc.

I mean, not many places you can spend an hour reading comments about cheap fried chicken on sale..

            • @GnarlyKnuckles: ftr, i didnt neg you.

        • Any suggestions on decent store bought Korean sauces? I've gone through a few bottle of the Di-namite Gochujang but always on the lookout for others.

          • +1

@Cuddlah: have you tried mixing with sriracha or tabasco sauce?

            • +2

@slowmo: We do make a mixup of Sriracha and Kewpie or Sambal and Kewpie that works really well, but I'd love to find a store bought sauce akin to the Korean Fried Chicken restaurant style ones, if such a thing even exists…

      • +4

This stuff is super spicy. Not bland at all. Unless you bought the other flavour. There are a couple of tegal take outs that look similar

        • I agree - especially the next day

      • Airfry them, then toss them in a mixture of franks and blue cheese.

  • +4

Not sure how you got it for $2.80. It shows up as $14 for me. Not obtainable.

    • -2

Try different postcodes. I'm in NSW and have found them available online in every woolies near me. I picked up 6 at St Marys shopping in-store last night (there was no sales tag on the shelf) and 12 at Mt Druitt this morning. I have 10 in my online trolley and have been planning on checking availability over the weekend.

    • So, Unobtainium ?

    • +15

Don’t think neg vote is appropriate in this case

  • +1

    Says it's $14 p/KG?

Where do you get $2.8 p/KG from?

    • it does show as $2.80 for me but im not driving 30 minutes for it. no stock at my local (NSW)

  • +2

    Showing $14 for me?

  • +36

Ton of short-dated stock came from warehouse for select stores (at least in WA). Expiry will likely be 4th November 2022 for those who have it at $2.80 at their local.

  • -1

I can confirm it showed as $2.80 initially. Now it’s showing OOS and the 2 that I added to cart disappeared

    • +1

Try pick up from another store.
Or try Direct to Boot from a third store.
      Or go for delivery.

Every time you change this, the list of stores change.
May be you will find some in a store near you.

You can also chose a further store and make the pick up on the weekend.

Note that some say it might be short dated: 4 November.

I will confirm when I pick up mine tomorrow.

      • +3

It's a frozen product so date is kind of irrelevant.

      • Got mine.
        Dated December 2022.

        That’s okay for me.

  • +2

    I’m getting $2.80. I’m in Melbourne

    • +2

      May I ask which store?

  • +1

Still showing $14. Although can recommend. I didn't think they were too bad. Usually come on special for around $7. At that price they are good value

  • +5

Bought 6 @$2.8, it's legit, may depend on the store.
Allow the substitute, so woolies may provide similar item without higher price.

    • I did tick for substitution - hoping for Louisiana but there was PLENTY of Nashville. I picked up 12 and have another 10 in my online trolley to see how long it takes them to sell out.

      • Wish I had a big freezer.

        • I've shared most of it, I was just thrilled to score the deal. :)

    • +5

@@ I didnt even notice any spice. It was super salty though.

    • +7

      username doesn't really check out

  • added to cart and logged in then it changed to $14. :(

  • Thanks op, got $2.80

  • Any chance this price will be in-store too?

    • +1

yes i actually bought 2 packs in store

      • What's the best before date?

        • March 2023

        • FEB 2023

  • Shows $2.8 for me, but my local is sold out. Oh well. Great find

  • +4

Value for money this is way better than KFC hot and spicy chicken. Would buy again at this price.

    • +4

It's way too spicy for young kids though, but for $2.80 harden tf up

  • Wow…Halloween

  • Is it OOS?

  • -1

Have to spend $30 for boot sigh for my local. Put better luck jump the queue in the morning.

    • just order some groceries, don't think it would last till tomorrow, and it may be online price only.

      • If you get in early at 7am, they still wouldnt have started packing the orders

        • I'll beat those 15-18 years getting $14 dollars an hour lol

    • wot?

      • I meant "probably" but came out as "put"

Local doesn't offer $0 c&c but $0 direct boot with min. $30 instead. Collection only starts after 9 am so it will be easily to pop in at 7 am and grab it myself instead of staff doing it.

        • Click to boot and subsitution accepted. Chicken tenders.

          • @Stopback: So OOS they will offer alternatives?

        • Allowing subs may get you the other $14 option.

          • @Neoika: How do I allow this? Big tick box on checkout under items.

            Submitted an order now.

            • @Sheng: How did your order go

              • +1

@Stopback: I ordered after midnight for a 9am pickup, with substitutions ticked, hoping for Louisiana. But I got all 12 bags of Nashville and the bags were all Best Before DEC 2022. I have 10 bags in my online trolley and am checking stock in the 4 stores nearest to me. 2 stores have 10+ bags and 2 stores updated to 7 and 8 bags, respectively, when I changed stores.

              • @Stopback: I got 6 bags and same DEC 2022.

                • @Sheng: Appears I got a box of favorites as well for shipping with them.

                  • @Sheng: They had a 3 pack of bonds trunks and 1kg of oats in trolley they gave me.

I was honest and gave them back

                • @Sheng: Actually 4 of them were FEB 2023

  • +7

Thanks OP, got 13 bags and a few tuna cans for the delivery

    • +1

All you need now is a stand for the local markets haha good effort

  • +1

Can confirm is at Kirrawee for $2.8 if anyone wants it , I still have the burgers from last time it was half price for $7

  • +1

I love this brand especially the nashville chicken

  • +1

Tegel chicken is nice. Bargain for $2.80.

  • Which is better, the Nashville or Louisiana?
I rate the Louisiana burgers but didn't like the chicken pieces. If the Nashville version is better I'll grab some at this price

    • nashville, it's way better than KFC if you don't overcook it.
a little spicy outside and much juicier inside than KFC.
If overcook it, it's similar to KFC.

      • I overcooked it a touch in the air fryer, the crumb went as hard as nails

  • Thanks OP…. Now to buy another chest freezer…

  • +1

What?! Show at $2.80 and in stock for me. Not sure whether to just go in the morning or buy online now.

  • +2

Woolworths either multiplied the usual price by 0.2 or divided by 5. Whatever they normally do someone's finger slipped on the number pad.

    • Exactly 10% of the original price smells like a typo doesn't it? Like they were changing it back to 100% after their 50% special last week and missed a digit

  • +3

wow, bought 10. Monday is gonna be a good day for kids chicken treating…mwwuahahha. Here u go Johnny, a Nashville wing for yah buddy yeaahaaarrr,

    • Wow that is a lot of freezer space

    • +1

You know it's cheap but not at all healthy. No wonder there's none for anyone else

  • Shows $14 for me unfortunately

    • Surge pricing

    • ACT shelf price shows $14 but scans at $2.80

      • +1

Tried scanning today. Still $14 in SA :(

  • Is it state specific

    • +9

      Why don't you tell us?

  • +1

The hot one is good, better than KFC in my opinion. We usually stock up when they are half price on special.

  • +3

showing $2.80 but when trying to checkout, it updates the price to $14

    • Same thing happened to me. Might send the better half for the naughty chook tomorrow.

  • +2

Tried about 15 stores within a reason distance of me and no luck. Congrats to anyone lucky enough to snap this up though!

  • Produced & Packed in NZ using ingredients from multiple origins.

Is the chicken pieces from NZ?

  • +3

Anyone finds stock at this price in SA, please?

  • still haven't finished all the chicken from the last deal

  • +2

Can't find any store in Melbourne for $2.80…
    Nothing for VIC

  • Thanks OP.
    You are a legend.

Got some for pick up and checked “Allow Substitution” so they can give me something else if it was OOS.

Hopefully they are not very short dated.

I can still see available 9 bags in Chullora, NSW 2190 for anyone near by.
