Click through the ShopBack app over mobile data to ensure Cashback is tracked successfully.

Where is this instruction from? Why would it only track through the app over mobile data?

    • I read that somewhere once, incase like your wifi router blocks tracking or something. It's not mandatory, just if your paranoid… lol

      • I think that’s in reference to adblockers and third party apps like honey. You’d need to turn it off for better tracking

        • +1

Some people run piholes on their home network too, so not entirely sure if they could prevent tracking with adblocking and tracking etc…

          • @simplerick: This.

I run a pihole and have this exact issue. When I purchase using CR or SB I have to try and remember to change my laptop DNS to something other than pihole, click through and then make the transaction. Once done I can switch the DNS back.

A bit of a pain but the only way when doing this from home as I don't know all the URL's I'd need to whitelist.

    • +2

It’s not mentioned anywhere in the T&C, prolly it’s an OP’s notes but I don’t see why using wifi would not track either

  • Shame it doesn't have Indian servers

    • +40

my local Subway has Indian servers

      • +2

And UK's main public server(Prime minister) is Indian, if that satisfies your royal heritage.

        • good to see India finally rule over the British public

    • Guess I’ll stick with PIA then for cheap subscriptions.

  • +3

Just letting everyone know this works well.

I signed up to Nord when the previous shopback deal was going a couple months ago and received the ~$100 the other day.

    Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

  • +5

Just letting everyone know Nord is not good for torrenting off a private tracker. It doesn't offer port forwarding.

    • as much PIA may not be the best, this is why I use them. That and to be able to split tunnel specific applications over the VPN.

  • Forgot to enter the SHOPBACK code during checkout. Is the 97% still going to be tracked?

    • Codes SHOPBACK or topdeal only give you the discount on 2 year plan for US $89

If you didn’t enter the code, you’d still get the cashback tracked at 97%

      • How long will it take to get %97 cash back?

        • Cashback takes 2 days to track
          Redeemable in 75 days

  • +7

    2-year plan ($2.99/mo) + 3 months FREE ($80.73)

Are these guys actually charging us for those free months?

    2 years charged @ $2.99/mo
    24 * 2.99 = $71.76

    2 years and 3 months charged @ $2.99/mo
    27 * 2.99 = $80.73

    • Paid AU$111.89
      Expires Jan 30, 2025

      Checks out

  • Do they have any Indian servers? Actual or virtual in india?

    • +1

None. I will not be renewing it. Since Indian servers are useful for cheap youtube and other OTT services.

      • +1

it must have had in the past. How the heck did I get Indian YouTube premium prices…that was like a couple of years ago, I checked just now a d indeed nothing there anymore.

        • +1

Yeah just a few months ago they removed the indian server due to indian govt changes/regulations.

THere are some free VPN providers that still do have Indian hosts, i am looking for the name of one now (ExpressVPN may do)

          • +1

@riklarkin: Surfshark removed it's actual server too from India, however they still have two Indian servers listed (one virtual and one Delhi). And they both work fine for Indian OTT usage. My surfshark subscription is due to expire soon, so wanted to check if Nord had it. But thanks for confirming. Will most likely renew surfshark for another sprint.

        • +1

I used free version of tunnel bear to get YouTube premium via India.

      Blame your own Indian government.

      https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/everything-you-need-to-kno…

I wonder which of these regulations Nord refused to comply to. This organisation also formed MOU with Shanghai equivalent it seems…that could be it too.

      • ExpressVpn offers Indian server via Singapore…Nordvpn should start doing the same.

        • +1

Surfshark does the same. I can access all Indian content using Sony Liv, Hotstar etc.

  • My three-year subscription just expires. Don’t they provide subscription for three years anymore? Should I wait for Black Friday in case three-year subscription rolls out?

    • +1

      My three-year subscription just expires.

mines in December, but this reminded me to go check and realised I still had auto-renew enabled
Glad I turned that off :)

      • Eep…thanks for the reminder. Turned auto-renew off.

  • I did it as described. Got an invoice and am connected but it's not tracking as a purchase in the app. Even did on mobile data.
Does this take a while or do I need to get my money back via 30 day guarantee?

    • Tracked. Took around 20 minutes. Just in case someone is concerned as well :)

  • If you have an expired plan, can this be used to sign up again on the same account?

    • +1

      NEW ACCOUNT

      • If I claimed a previous deal on Nord with shopback, can I create new Nord account and claim again with same cashback account? Will they know I used a shopback deal a few years ago?

    • +1

you must create a new account to get the 97% cash back

      • +3

Bonus spying from 5 eyes owned vpn service.

Nord has to get outside funding to operate since you're not paying to use.

        Enjoy!

        • Hmm nice one
Is surfshark in the same boat?

        • I like 5 eyes

        • Yeah lmao I'm pretty sure all these VPNs are NSA creations for the 5 eyes. Literally no other way to have 97% off deals literally every other day. In any case, if it helps not get angry letters from telcos for torrenting, then might as well lol.

  • Thanks.
Paid $111.89 with $105.26 tracked cashback.
Not quite 97% (probably from currency conversions) but good enough.

    • Paid $111.89

How did you manage to get it for that price? 1 year plan?

      • Use the code SHOPBACK to drop the 2 year standard plan to $80.73 usd

        • Yeah I got that, but how does it work out to be $111.89 AUD when $80.73 USD = $125.87 AUD?

          • @HomeAlone: That i do not know, it's amazing is all I can say

          • +1

@HomeAlone: Yeah I'm not too sure now looking at the usd price.
I remember I was charged in AUD with Google Pay method.

The invoice says $111.89 and my card was charged the same too.

It says my plan expires January 29, 2025

      • +5

        2 Year + 3 months plan
I changed the country to USA zip code 97062 for no tax.

        • Thanks for the tip

        • Sales tax 0% - A$0.00
          Total: A$111.89/2 years

          cheers mate!

  • How is "new" customer defined? Can I just sign up with a different email address?

    • +1

Yes. New customer just requires an different (unused) email address.

      • what would be a good place to get new email account ? gmail and hotmail keep asking for mobile details etc

        • +1

I've signed up to both recently with no mobile. Gmail only yesterday.

        • Maybe mail.com ?? Just google free email service providers and see what pops up.
I’m not sure which providers need a back up phone number, though I’d assume most need at least a backup email address to send a forgotten password to.

      • Awesome, thanks!

  • They charged me: $123.08 @@

    • Why is that? Isn't it 80.73 for 2 years + free 3 months?
Okay it is usd i guess

      • Yes, something goes with the USD GST and conversion fee

        • Will paying in usd Revolut card help

  • Any Feedback….I am unable to cast anything via Google Chrome cast to my TV after installing VPN Nord on My Phone.?

    • You will need to disable the VPN for your local LAN, should be an option in the app somewhere

  • Hi,

How long will it take the %97 cashback

I used nord vpn for trial purposes before. Should i sign up with a new account?

What if we don’t get the cash back? Is it easy to get our money back?

      • Those who have used NordVPN under a free trial are considered existing NordVPN customers

      So use a new account

  • Any good PIA deals?

    • +2

I just ShopBacked PIA this afternoon, I've always used them without issue so why change now

If you search for them in the ShopBack app (Private Internet Access) it says 90% on 1 and 2 year plans, I did the 2 year plan and it'll end up being around $7. To me the extra familiarity is worth the extra $4 or so compared to Nord which I haven't used before :)

Got confirmed tracking email within the hour of order

      • How does PIA compare to Nord being in USA?

      • I got PIA, they have also moved the servers out of India , Is there any other way to connect to Indian app store.

  • Is apple pay working with this deal

  • I cant pay with paypal
    Nor apple pay.
    Can anyone please
    Help me

    • Hey mate, sorry to hear you had trouble at the checkout, I'm not sure what's gone wrong here, were you able to get a hold of the deal in the end? If not, we do run pretty frequent comparable VPN offers if you're able to wait a little. Let me know if I can help with anything.

  • +1

Paid AUD $111.89 for 2 years an (plus 3 months bonus) and got cashback tracked at $105.26, available on JAN 13th 2023

  • How long does it take for the cashback to be tracked? paid A$111.89/2 years but hasn't come up on my shopback account

    • What payment method did you use ??

    • Hey mate, tracking can take up to 2 days for Nord, so it make come through today for you if not already. If not, do reach out, I'm happy to take a look.

      • All good it came through!

  • Looks like the Shopback deal ends in 1 hour folks. Not sure if it will renew again shortly after, so maybe take the plunge now if your on the fence.

Otherwise, they run these deals on a monthly basis so you will always find a deal at some point

  • Hi all, how do I check if I was successfully used shopback for this? Is there anywhere we can check shopback for tracking

    • You should get a tracking notification around 30min to 1 hour after clicking through the app for the deal.

Also, seems the deal is still going for now…

Deal is now updated to 95% Cashback, was 97% earlier today

    • Hey mate, tracking can take up to 2 days to come through from Nord, though typically it take a lot less time than that. If you've not got any tracking notification via email by the end of the day, let me know, I'm happy to take a look.

  • What happens if it doesn't track? Can we ask for a change of mind refund like most VPN services?

    • And there within lies the problems with such a cashback promo of such.

    • NordVPN has a 30-day money back guarantee. At least, that's what it said when I did the signup.

Give the tracking a little time, especially if a credit card is used. Paypal can be the quickest for tracking based on some experience.

  • product is good, but customer service is garbage. - continually has problems with passwords not being recognized…which the garbage customer " service" is aware of and does nothing to solve.

  • Didn't track yet for me, on the two year plan.

    Edit: tracked, $103.09.

  • Showing $99 .63 USD on the app yet USD 80.73 via desktop

edit: forgot to add the coupon
