Vevor Stainless Steel Rolling Table 760x610mm $75.99 Delivered @ Vevor

110

Who are Vevor:

  • Vevor is a cheap brand…. basically another "Kogan" who slap their label on a bunch of stuff. I've had pretty good luck so far. Anyway.

Is this any good?:

  • This is a cheap (as in quality and price) stainless steel rolling table.
  • The top is usually a thin 1mm skin of stainless over MDF or light-duty steel frame similar.
  • The stainless (legs, top shelf, bottom shelf are all 201 J2 Stainless, which is a cheap grade of stainless that only has moderate corrosion resistance — keep away from salt or salt water. This is still better than some products where the legs and bottom shelf are not even made of stainless.
  • Apparently the casters are pretty nice though, and they are lockable too.

How is this a bargain?:

  • Are there any thoughts around how well this would survive outdoors?

    • Poorly

For outdoors you would want 304 stainless at a minimum for continual weather exposure, and 316 ideally if you live anywhere close to salt water.

430 stainless (if it is that…) would be fine for a while outside, but you're going to see some staining of the top surface over time.

The legs look chrome plated, and the bottom shelf on these things is typically galvanized steel, so the edges of the legs and shelf will likely rust over time too.

      • Thanks for that, given me good ideas on what I need to look for.

It's just hard to say for this one, since we don't know what materials it is made of. For reference, most stainless outdoor BBQ's are made of 430, with some 304 for food-contact / cooking areas. For the price, it's hard to quibble too much. A comparable table made of 304 would be around $400 or more.

    • Mine lives outside under cover but still gets the rain.
been 2 years now and is perfectly fine.

Can vouch for vevor - bought a 135 inch screen for $370 (half of the cheapest on ebay) and the colour is awesome, also a $90 race wheel stand, works really well.

But I’m skipping this one - can’t see myself use it for anything 🤣

    I can vouch this table.
I purchased this exact one for $136 off eBay.
lives outside under my pergola next to my commercial wok burner.
very often gets rained on and no rust/stains/swelling.
I would 100% buy this if I needed another one.

    Thanks purchased!

  • Hmm wonder if Ooni Koda 12 would be nice on that with gas bottle on the shelf?

    • If you give your Ooni Koda to me i can try it out for you!!

  • For reference, I dug out the XRF gun, and sadly, the composition of the table is as follows:

    Table top: Junk stainless
    Top inner frame: galvanised steel
    Table legs: Junk stainless
    Table lower shelf: Junk stainless
    Castors: galvanised steel

The "junk stainless" is 201 J2 CrMn stainless - likely the cheapest stainless steel there is to produce. It's not utterly terrible for corrosion resistance, but it is weak and prone to cracking when bent. YMMV when leaving it outside. Keep it well away from salt.
