      Just signed up for gas and electricity through them.

      The site mentioned 90 days before the gift card is sent out!

      So hopefully it does go through.

    Interesting that Alinta knocked me back last time due to my 'credit history' even though I've never in my life had a bill go overdue or defaulted on anything. The only thing that could possibly go against me is using econnex previously!! Be aware guys switching electricity every few months with these guys can have negative consequences.

      If that is the case Alinta is abusing the "credit history" allowance and should be challenged. The government is obviously encouraging the shop-around approach to stimulate competition in the energy market.

      might be worth checking your credit with one of the providers. If someone has used/stolen your identity it can impact your credit. Probably a long shot and unlikely but better to find out and start fixing it now. also provided more grounds to go back to them and challenge their call.

    Can anyone explain how this Econnex thing works with Shopback?

    I see I can sign up to Alinta through Shopback but when I try it - it looks like the rates that Econnex are advertising are worse than the rates through Alinta directly?

    Basically 4% off reference with shopback and 6% off reference through Alinta direct.

    Am I missing something here, or are the Econnex rates just not up to date and Alinta will just charge me the rates of their plan? Or is this all just lies to make you think you're making money in shopback but they just recoup it with higher rates.

        Yes same thing happen to me. The post code I am using is 4300 Springfield Lakes, QLD. Econnex shows me this rates:
        Daily supply charge - 116.597 Cents per day
        Peak All usage - 24.387 Cents per kWh

        While directly on Alinta site, it gives me this rates with the same post code and suburb as above:
        Daily supply charge - 112.321 Cents per day
        Peak Usage - 24.387 Cents per kWh

        Econnex Daily supply charge is more than if going direct to Alinta.
