It's disgusting to me that you would abuse a helpless baby in this way. Everyone knows babies prefer Baileys and milk.

C'mon everyone knows it's a drop of Sherry in the milk!

    • Everyone knows long island ice milk works best.

What price do you put on getting a half decent nights sleep??? These things are great, highly recommend! Originally I was firmly in the camp of why the hell do we need one of these things for especially for the price they are! My mrs insisted we get one (wasn't going to argue with a heavily pregnant wife!) Ended up getting one secondhand as a compromise and it was great. When we were finished with it we on-sold for like $50 less than we paid for it. They hold their price pretty well if in good condition. Cheapest one secondhand on Marketplace at the moment is $1200 as an example.

        Okay dad.

Yes I am. Something wrong with being a father?

      • +8

Say no to all screens, electronic toys, baby monitors, baby sitters, day care centres, play pens, and safety devices too!! It is part of the responsibility of being a parent and nurturing your child and not tasks you can outsource.

        • +2

Thanks for explaining it to my dad. I feel you're much more suitable to being my father. Will you adopt me daddy Tock?

@Dollarino: As long as you fit in the Snoo… welcome to the family, son.

      • +8

Parents are generally better people when they get a good night's sleep. Each to their own, no comparison should be made as each parent and child is different.

But we have technology now? Why don't U go hunt for your food instead of taking the easy way out and buying from the supermarket? Fetch freshwater from lakes? Times change.

      • +1

You "outsource" a lot of your responsibilities with modern technology.

Where do you draw the line you Luddite?

Good price. We got one for our newborn - I was somewhat sceptical but after using for 6 or so months, it was amazing for us. Our baby settled very quickly in the bassinet every night/day and he now sleeps through pretty much every night in his own standard cot (10 months old) after using the weaning mode. I was able to get the baby down from a night feed or cry within 5 minutes using the Snoo. Our sleep was far and away better than any of our friends who had babies at similar times, and still is.

The swaddle sack is great, safe, and easy to use even in the middle of the night. White noise + movement = winner for us.
But of course every baby is different, your mileage may vary, etc. etc.

    • with this do you have to use the swaddle sack? Our little dude hates having anything held down so anything swaddle has been a no since 3 days old lol

      • The sack needs to be strapped in to operate and also allows arms out instead of swaddled.

        • Just saw an option where arms and legs are out but still strapped in like a diaper so that’s useful in my case at least! Thanks

Have you seen any videos of where it malfunctioned ?

  • +6

picked one up second hand, have been using one for the past 4 months for second baby.
Still amazed each time the snoo can sooth baby back to sleep without having to go and pick them up and resettle.

It's not a miracle maker but the extra amount of sleep we have received is worth the cost, especially as they hold value and can be resold.

You might want to wait until black friday to see if they have an even bigger discount though

    • First read this as "second hand baby" hahaha

      • Preloved

May be some good condom deals for Black Friday.

    • Why bother commenting if you have no interest in the product? Just travel back in time and get your parents to use a condom and save money wasted on education

use code SAVE20SMS for an extra $20 USD off…. having a 3week old newborn right now this is looking tempting

    • If you are on the fence about getting one you can rent them for $50 a week and see how you go.

      • There is 30day money back guarantee with free return shipping too

We’ve had 2 - tried it with my second. He hated it. Sold it for about $200 less than we paid. Friends continued to rave about it so stupidly we tried it with our 3rd and she also hated it. Sold it for a $300 profit. They have good re-sale value but I can’t believe how many positive reviews it gets. My kids hated the motion and the sound. It’s hard to get them back in after a breastfeed without waking them.

    • +2

We bought one new when the baby was a few weeks old so that we could use the 30 day returns policy in case he didn't like it. But ours loved it, and had a significant improvement in sleep, so it worked out for us. I think the baby's preferences are behind a lot of the polarising reviews

  • isn't the whole rocking to sleep hard to get rid of once they are used to this?

    • +1

you use the weaning mode to gradually transition to the crib

  • +4

Do they make one that's adult sized?

  • The way it rocks the baby in the video is meh.
I wonder if it's uncomfortable for the baby

    • No it's fine. The rocking is suppose to replicate the motion baby experiences in the womb. Same goes for the sounds.

I dont care what people say about this thing, it bought my wife and me countless of extra hours of sleep with our daughter.

  • Those who bought direct from HappiestBaby - I know it’s in USD, but are they shipping from US or from a warehouse in AUS? Or more to the point, is there customs duty on top of the purchase price when it’s delivered because it’s over $900 or whatever the limit is

    • Not 100% sure - but a friend bought theirs and it was delivered within the week. So I assume there is a local distribution network here in AUS.

As per previous comments, I was a non-believer of this expensive product at first. Used for 6 months with our son and we got much more sleep, the snoo worked for us. I would not hesitate to purchase one in the future. On sold ours for a small profit. Delivery from Happiest Baby was fast.

  • if you do buy a second hand one, you may come across some creaking or clicking sounds.

It's not a hard fix, and just requires the rubber o-rings to be replaced.

Plenty of instructions available on reddit or facebook groups.
