  • Motherboard issues :P and damn the design looks so old

Yeah I'd stay away from Samsung whitegoods at any price.

      Why's that?
I got a similar model 2 years ago for $450 and it's going strong!

      • Excellent, hopefully you get another 10 out of it.

All my Samsung products apart from the tv and phones have been unreliable.
Especially the washing machine and fridge which after purchase and after the first problems were rated poorly in reviews multiple sites.

The worst part is Samsung would replace the same defective components under warranty and when the warranty was out I was stuck with a giant paperweight.

I purchaed Mitsubishi electric fridge and Electrolux washer to replace and they've been great after many years, I did this after significant research.

        • Oh no :(
          I've had the opposite.
My Samsung phone has gone through hell and back and it's pushing 3 years old now and still waterproof and battery lasts 1½ days despite using it a lot to browse ozbargain 😅
Thanks, I hope the machine lasts me 20 years!

          • @Exprise: I agree about the phone (and TV's), great products.

Whitegoods though, just have a look at reviews from actual customers, so many fridges etc. have horrendous issues, mostly with water which causes the worst kind of damage, it damages cabinetry, it causes dangerous mould etc.

I'm not recommending spending a lot more money, get an Essato, Electrolux etc. they're good and on offer for the prices, roughly, often.

I bought a WF1752WPC almost 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

Same. It was a great bargain at the time. Just under $500. Coming from a $1.6k Asko that barely lasted 5 years, I wasn't prepared to spend big bucks again. The Samsung has been more reliable and much quieter.

A few years ago, it started leaking at the studio dispenser, but just siliconed up the gap in the plastic (with the help of a YouTube video) and it's been fine since.

        Don't overthink it.

From everything I've heard from repair men Samsung's white goods are the worst in longevity and durability, probably should stay clear

  • Looks so old, maybe good for rental

  • Had issues with the front loading doors…

  • +2

I had terrible experience with cheaper Samsung white goods.

    I've had:
Washing machine (I kept a collection of drain pumps in the shed)

French door fridge (relentless icing problems)

Dishwasher (2 warranty calls, then failed after 2 yr warranty.

    Never again.

Buy something more expensive, with the longest warranty you can.

The disruption to normalcy when these fail is too much when they fail. Warranty service can be a week, and it's bloody annoying.

    Poor man buys twice.

Anyone got a nice larger size (9 - 12 kg) top loader special?

    • I'm interested in this too

  • Same machine can be bought in Sydney NSW and regions for $645 (if not member Samsung EPP ) includes delivery installation and removal of old machine.

  • I thought you couldn't use $50 welcome code at EPP?

  • Does this include installation?
