    Wish it is 2k display

  • Anyone know what wattage the 3070 is? Acer's page for this is a 404

    • +3

      110w

Cheers, and thanks for the link above, was gonna recommend this to a friend but its time to HODL.

  • Last year I don't recall any insane laptop deals to be honest.

I don't game much(PS5), but it seems I need something like these these days to find a laptop i can upgrade ram from 16GB.

There was a 3060 laptop for $1000 last year.

      • Not just in one deal either, the Nitro 5 RTX 3060 model sat at $1000-$1200 across various deals for months.

When this Triton 300 chassis isn't a huge upgrade over the Nitro 5, I'm not sure if it's worth forgoing potential Black Friday sales for this deal as I don't think it will deliver 1.6x the gaming experience as a $1000 3060 Nitro 5

I don't trust Acer gaming laptops.

      They don't trust you either

    • Why is that?

Would recommend to pass. According to the Jarrods Tech Review, the RTX3070 is gimped by a poor power limit. It performs worse than full power RTX3060 laptops. Also, it’s single channel ram, so you have to have factor in the ram upgrade cost as well, bringing the overall cost closer to $1700.

    • Yep. Might as well spend another $300 for the Asus R7 6800HS deal posted today

    • Insane Acer is still putting in single channel ram, into a laptop with a 3070

  • +1

I can't recommend this model. 3070 in this model is rather weak, at the same price L5P with full power 3060 is a better choice

Wow was so impressed by this deal but after watching the Jarrad tech video, not going near this. Should always double check with reviews before buying stuff like this. Ty for the video links. Good find OP but Acer failed us all here.

You can get the 12th gen Acer nitro 3060 for about $100 more

    https://online.acer.com.au/acer-nitro-5-windows-11-home-inte…
Comes with a 230W power brick (mean less chance of battery drain during heavy usage.) vs 180w on the 11th Acer Nitro 3060

The 12th gen CPU will be about 10% faster
