    A7V is coming

    • A7R5? I think it will at least 1 more year for A7V release..

  • Still an excellent camera… And a sight cheaper than the a7V.

    • By over $1K+ with cashback and CR.

Exact sale price as Digidirect atm 😉

  • So tempted on the new Alpha 7R V 35mm …$$$$
    https://store.sony.com.au/interchangeablelenscamera-a7/ILCE7…

  • Hodl until A7 IV is lowered

    • IV has a few advantages… But III and a good lens will be a better option for most people.

  • Never seen a non-Leica camera body hold value so well haha

    • +3

It's just a great camera. And esp if you use it mainly for photos there's no real need to upgrade to IV.

  • I don't think any one from Australia ever reported a shutter failure on it, I have been using it for two years now and it's an absolute pleasure coming from Nikon

    • Lots of people on the Sony Facebook page reported the shutter failure though. I have only noticed 1-2 shots every now and then having a fine red line in the photos on the far left of the image. But that could be card related too you never know.

      • From Australia?

  • Thisbor Fujifilm XT5 or XH2

    • A7III is a full frame camera but the tech is a few years old but still a capable camera.

XT5 is a camera designed for photographers but quite capable with video if you are occasional video shooter.

XH2 is a hybrid camera for video and photo shooters.

    • I recommend fuji.

I grab a xh2 on the XT5's release date, because of the high price of xt5. Get xh2 at $2479.

Waiting for a decent price of A7M4 on BF or Boxing day.

    • If you are planning to shoot video, go with the XH2, otherwise this is the better choice.

asking anyone who has had a successful cashback + pricematch on sony: I have clicked through cashrewards and browsed to the product page and filled in the price match form which says its been submitted.

Not sure how this is going to go given that I'm assuming they will send me a link via email if the pricematch is successful? Do I have to click through cashrewards again before clicking that link?

    • Once Sony pricematches, the item will be added into your cart in your Sony account/ or the email used for the price match.

I’ve clicked through cashrewards then logged in to Sony account and checked out from there (ensuring not to switch tabs as advised by cashrewards and turn off adblocker if extension is on to ensure transaction is tracked) .

$400 cash back is claimed through the Sony cash back promotion. And the extra 12% through cashrewards. I’ve had my order successfully tracked with cashrewards.

for those holding an amex card as well, they're having $100 credit when you spend over $500

  • has anyone able to get a price match from SONY ? Submited request last night and still nothing so far

    • Follow up in the chat

      • Thanks .Live chat helped

However CR 12% is not tracked after purchase.. .searching through ozb it seems like a common problem with SONY store, have to wait and see after 7 days

Bought yesterday from digidirect for the same price but with less cashback. They do give qantas points so that’s a small bonus

Lodged the cashback claim with Sony last night and received confirmation that it’s been accepted this morning

    • @blonky did buy frim this sale? T&C stipulates that the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount. Hope you’re successful with the claim.

      • +1

Yes, I bought from the Click Frenzy sale. The staff at Digi said it's fine and cashback will go through + it's listed on the product page on their site so if there's any issues I'm coming back to them.

But Sony have already confirmed it's valid and that the cashback will be deposited in my account in 28 days. Invoice shows $2143 as the line item amount rather than $2679 less discount -$535

        • Thanks mate @blonky. Did you receive any code/reference after lodging your claim? And how long did you have to wait for it?
I clicked on ‘Track my claim’ and it’s asking for a code

  • Hey guys what the best not too expensive lens to accomodate this camera? For beginner travel photos

    • Sony 35mm f1.8 FE. Grab second hand for ~$500

Best middle ground lens - wide enough for landscapes and architecture but also not warped enough that you can use for portraits if needed

    • For travelling I’d suggest a zoom lens, 24-70 or 24-105. You are very likely come across situations where it’s not practicable to move closer or farther away from your subjects.

      • Thanks. Trying to get Sigma 24-70mm F2.8. Can't afford GM. They don't seem to have any deals going on atm though with sigmas

  • The cashback is not working, and I called them twice and online chatted with them twice all with case number and NOW i have to log the case to FAIR TRADING

    • What seems to be the error with claiming the cashback?

  • So we need to chat with Sony to get the price match…so how does Cashrewards work when we are completing the sale via Chat (if they accept to price match)?

    • Chat will just speed up the process to get the price match confirmed. In the end, an email will be sent to the email entered for the price match and the item will automatically be added into your Sony account cart. From there just ensure cashrewards is activated and can track your purchase.
