I don't know much about these systems, but I received an email from Pioneer advertising the above refurbished blu-ray home theatre systems at 50% off the advertised price from their online store using the code Pioneer.

Edit: The 40% off Digital radios (new & refurbished) is on again using the code: Pure

  • Any codes for the BDP140 blue ray player?

  • No the codes were only for these 2 units and all digital radios

  • Is the warranty on the re-furbs the same as brand new units?

  • Tempting and hardly control myself

  • 1 year on these particular refurbs

  • wish the rear speakers were wireless. hate too many wires in the living room.

    • Just take the time to plan & route the cable properly, then you'll never know they are there. You can use flat cable under carpet or behind skirting boards if necessary. I was of the same mind as you until I actually tested a few wireless surround options.

The sound of wired speakers will be far superior to wireless in every way. TBH, I haven't seen a set of wireless surrounds that I'd be happy with; they all have some sort of issue (hissing, dropouts, interference, poor sound etc) that would drive me nuts!

not really feasible if you're in a rental.

          One (hyphenated) word Keef…blu-tack! ;)

When i rented years ago I used to just have a rug in the lounge and run my wires under that to get to the rear of the room.

  • Just bought one…will replace my wdtv & panasonic dvd/cinema system. only 2 left…

    • None of the htz818bd left now. I wonder if these were all snapped up by people on ozbargain?

Are any of the digital radios worth a punt?

  • What was the advantage of the htz818bd over the other?

    EDIT:
Looks to be a wifi addon?

    • The HTZ808BD doesn't have any hdmi inputs, where as the HTZ818BD has two.

      • Thanks, all my stuff comes out optical so that will be fine.

  • Thanks OP, pretty sure I got the final 818 last night….after watching 8 in stock dwindle.

I've never had a "true" home theatre setup before, so I'm excited.

    @Dimtar - 818 has 3D Blu-Ray too.

    • Thanks mate, I only really want the kit for the sound. I have a PS3 for all the Blu Ray action.

  • One of the HTZ818BD's came back in stock so I snapped it up. :)

  • Has anyone had a shipping confirmation on these yet?

    • I haven't received anything, I doubt I will either.

    • Got mine on friday last week. The speaker box is MASSIVE! It is still sitting in the boxes at home as I have not had a chance to open it up. lol

  • Bought late Tues 26th, received Thurs 28th. I love it!…now to find an AV Receiver to match

  • My parents ordered the 808 on Weds 27th and was delivered Fri 29th

  • guys what's the condition of the surfaces etc? Always had some reservations about refurbs, regarding the basic finish of the product.

  • Ordered Tuesday last week and arrived Thursday. Quick delivery that was! Haven't got time to set it up but looking forward to it
