          • @screensaver:

thats for the 6 weeks free, for points only you can do just hospital

How do you join for "points only" when the eligibility criteria for the points offer says that you must provide the promotion code "6WEEKSFREE" on sign-up?

  • +3

Need to hold the policy for > 60 days for the points

    • If that's the case, then this is a 'no deal' from me.

      • +2

The terms and conditions on the app under this offer says must hold for 60 days and then 60k points will only be paid into our account in the third month after taking our the policy.

        No deal for me also!

  • points only or both is 60 days i think, 6 weeks free only is 30 days

  • 6 weeks free and 300 dollars is the best deal ever for health insurance

  • policy limits reset 1 Jan?

    • +1

      Yes

    • This is the real play if you have glasses. Get 2 pairs in Dec then another 2 in Jan and cancel.

      • Not sure that will work. It says that there is a 2 month waiting period on extras. That would mean you wouldn't qualify for the extras until after the reset date.

        • You're right, I'm just used to promos having the waiting period waived for those extras.

  • No booster in my Rewards app. Do you need to have the booster to get this?

    • My read is - no. Looks like you can get it direct from BUPA?

      • +1

Sweet, the 60k points is available on hospital only cover, so I can pay $69.44/month for two months and get $300 worth of points! Sounds like a deal to me… time to set a reminder to cancel in two months time :D

edit: saving this here just in case, archive of the T&Cs page - https://archive.ph/EQm9W

        • +1

I think this is correct but it may be better value to get hospital + extras as then you can pay only one month.

          • @drillvoice: hmm yeah.. you're right.. ah well too late now, $130-ish for $300 worth of points is still good :)

  • +1

I spoke with them over chat and they said you can combine the 6 weeks free AND the 60,000 points. So you'd pay for 30 days (min $90 or so) then get 6 weeks (42 days) free. If you can pull that off you are laughing.

  • Newbie to health insurance swapping so sorry if this is obvious…
Does the 6 free weeks start after the 30 paid days and the $300 of points credited after 60 days?
…so I would only need to pay for the first 30 days and then cancel after the 10th week - so essentially only paying 4 weeks for both these benefits?

    Thanks I’m advance!

  • +2

i paid one monrh, then the next 6 weeks is free, then i get the points

  • Maybe worth a try for any existing BUPA members to see if they'll offer something to retain members with such a great deal…

  • +1

Too bad I already have extras with them. Not eligible.

  • May be a good deal for right now but they were doing 10 weeks free up till a few days ago. I suppose it Also depends on which policy you’re after.

    • 10 weeks was 6 weeks free for first year then 4 weeks free on second. It was misleading

  • Does it work with OverseasVisitors Health Insurance?

  • No way I will be partings ways with Medibank.

  • Do they wave the 2 months and 6 months waiting period?

    • I couldn't see any mention of this

    • Looks like 2 months on most extras, although some like major dental are 12 month waiting.

Just revisited the website and they've changed the T&Cs to exclude Hospital only?

    Before:
An Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Policy is any single, single parent, single parent plus, couple or family or family plus on a selected domestic Hospital only or combined domestic Hospital & Extras product or packaged product issued by Bupa.

    Now:
An Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Policy is any single, single parent, single parent plus, couple or family or family plus on combined domestic Hospital & Extras product or packaged product issued by Bupa.

Good thing I got an archive of the site saved! https://archive.ph/EQm9W

I just got charged for a second month despite the 6 weeks free deal…messaging them now to figure out what went wrong (I suspect their fault).

    • @drillvoice how did you go? Mi second month is coming soon so I’m trying to get ready :)
      Thanks!

      • They charged me because of a pre-set direct debit. They happily agreed to refund that.
