StreamFab (Streaming Video Downloader) US$279 (~A$413, Bonus US$40 Amazon Gift Card) @ DVDFab

52

Subscriptions to streaming services required separately.

Bit hesitant to post this as it's hardly cheap (works out to be A$355 if you subtract the Amazon card) and might be considered illegal. Maybe better a forum post? Really wanting to know if anyone knows a better option.

IF it works - it can download shows from multiple streaming sites (Netflix, Amazon etc) so you can watch them later. Some of these sites allow you to do this now, but maybe with a limited amount or time to watch it. Mac or Windows.

It might be worth it for me as I travel for 3-4 months and don't have enough data to watch my Netflix, Amazon etc (which I subscribe to) or out of signal range.

You can try it for 3 videos (with limited quality) from each service. It is from China and does ask for some weird permissions (like Chromium key chain) so conspiracy theorist's will not like it.

If you don't want to buy the whole lot you can get each service individually or bundle deals (2 for US$140, 3 for US$160 example prices). They're normally US$80-100 each. Or you can get them for 1 month or 1 year. There's also an Android version of the multi site app for US$130.

I've just tried the trial version for a Netflix movie and it did it fast and in good quality. It didn't capture the subtitles correctly - only half a sentence shows each time someone speaks.

They also now have an Android version for US$99 (normally US$129). Doesn't do as many services (pretty much just Netflix, Prime & Youtube).

I'm sorry, but why pay for a tool to download specific content when you can just torrent/usenet everything for free? $412 for piracy software is not a deal.

    • Yes, it's a fair neg. Take off the Amazon card and it's A$355. Still a huge amount - and it could stop working any time. It does look easy to use.

This!! Usenet along with Sonarr, Radarr, NZBGet and there is everything needed to set and forget when it comes to shows or movies. No torrent so no concern with you sharing to others and the P2P police coming knocking.

It could even take away the need to have Netflix, Amazon Video, Paramount etc. I don't have any of those and am never hungry when it comes to having stuff to watch.

      Just a thought.

Probably best in the forum, a quick google comes up with some complaints on reddit of download limiting and not everything being available in 1080p. I wouldnt trust it.

    • If it was cheaper (much cheaper) you might take a punt, but A$355 is silly money.

TubeDigger costs around $30-40 lifetime license worked with anything i've tried, never with services like netflix but has a free trial, presume because of Wdevine DRM would only capture SD netflix

    • US$25, Windows only

  • I travel for 3-4 months and don't have enough data

Why don't you just get enough data ? Then you can just watch the services you're already paying for.

    • It's not in Australia. It's in countries that I can't get a sim with enough data.

Paying to download content you already pay to subscribe to - bargain of the year

  • TPB etc is cheaper.

  • Can give you link to that?

  • Just found a decent looking option called PlayOn Cloud & PlayOn Home (Windows).
