      • It doesn't appear to be on sale at Myer?

Okay, so what’s your daily skincare routine then? ;)

You don't want to know. It almost requires a spreadsheet :P

      Edit: Posted below

      AM:
      Cerave hydrating cleanser
Alternate between TO 2% retinoid emulsion and Q+A exfoliating AHA gel (on sale for ~$10 at Priceline atm, absolute bargain)
TO caffeine eye serum (mild and doesn't last all day but definitely reduces eye bags)
TO niacinamide mixed with Cerave moisturizing cream
Cancer council face wear moisturizing sunscreen

      PM:
      Same cleanser
Alternate between TO 23% vitamin C and TO salicylic acid. (TO vitamin C products are a bit meh, better to make your own serum)
      Same moisturizer
      Collagen gummy for good luck

Quite affordable and gets the job done nicely. Whole stack comes in at under $100 and lasts forever.

@TrulyUnicorn, thanks for sharing your routine. Just in case you weren't aware, the brand's own usage instructions for the TO Granactive Emulsion (as well as their other retinoids) is PM only. There is some debate about using retinoids in AM due to increased sun sensitivity, but it's good to see that you are using sunscreen.

      • Really impressive! Are you an active user of r/SkincareAddiction?

Also, how do those Bifida Ampoules feel, does it really add benefit to the skin? Where do you buy them? Have you ever used the Estee Lauder ANR and compared it?

Have you considered choosing between Vitamin C E + FERULIC ACID products vs The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension?

        • +1

I only check the subreddit when I'm looking something up.

The "Manyo Bifida Complex Ampoule Gel Cleanser" mentioned in my routine is a cleanser, but I have used the "Manyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule" and I love it. The Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule in my current routine has the same Bifida Ferment Lysate ingredient, but it's very watery and prefer the texture of the Manyo. So I'll go back to the Manyo next. Refer to my comment here about the different products containing the same ingredient including ANR

          Vitamin C E + FERULIC ACID

If you're referring to the Skinceuticals product then no, it's too expensive. I just mix my TO Vit C and resveratrol + ferulic acid. I don't really like the texture of the TO Vit C in silicone but I can't be bothered doing my DIY Vit C serum at the moment (needs to be remade every couple of weeks).

          • @moocher: Vitamin C E + FERULIC ACID

Yes, but no to the Skinceuticals product. That is too expensive, I am referring to similar products like the TIMELESS 20% VITAMIN C + E FERULIC ACID SERUM.

Just wondering if you’ve ever considered those.

            • +1

@MegFan: I've heard of the Timeless product and would certainly consider purchasing it but not until I've used up what I have in my stash ;)

        • +1

          Where do you buy them

I get mine from Olive Young Korea, they have a sale on now for the Manyo ampoule, 3 x 30ml for US$27.45 (with 10% applied in cart)

For anyone who suffers from dark and baggy eyes like me their caffeine serum works quite well in my experience! The trick is to just rub it somewhat generously on and around your eyelids and give it a good couple minutes to soak in before moisturising. Then when you moisturise avoid smearing the eyes. I notice results within 10m. It tightens the skin so it feels a little weird at first but that goes away.

If you use an exfoliant (especially an AHA) avoid getting it on your eye bags as well since this thins the skin.

It's not a miracle product but it's one of the only things that have helped in my case.

    • Also keep it in the fridge

    • Do you have to use it everyday to see results?

      • I do ( male here). I don't think it is an everday thing, but more of a needs basis

  • Are these products worth the money and better than off the shelf products like cerave?

    • They compliment each other. Cerave make good cleansers and moisturisers but doesn't make serums with high percentages of actives (even with their new release vit C and retinol products)

    • +3

Many of TO's products aren't anything special and are poorly formulated at times (like some of their Vitamin C products). If you're just looking for a good cleanser or moisturizer then stuff like Cerave is great and gets the job done cheap.

However, if you want a more expansive/effective skincare routine on the cheap then some of their products shine. For example for chemical exfoliants: their AHA's namely glycolic and lactic acid are cheap and work wonders to even skin texture, reduce acne, pigmentation, etc. Their salicylic acid (a BHA) is also great and affordable at preventing acne and blackheads. Their 2-5% granactive retinoid emulsion (ignore their other retinol products) is a nice cheap entry into a very effective skincare addition. They last quite awhile too since you need such small amounts.

They also sell a few lesser-known oils and hair products which can be quite good. It's just a brand at the end of the day but they did introduce a lot of affordable and effective products into a market that was otherwise quite overpriced at times.

  • I'm gonna try the foundation 😄

    • +1

Coverage foundation is great. I'm a big fan. Doesn't sit on top of your skin and in creases. also light enough and matte finish. Adequate coverage in my opinion. I have a few freckles on my cheeks.

Serum foundation on the other hand not a big fan. Quite opposite of the coverage foundation imo.

      Concealer also quite ordinary.

  • Hey, does anyone find that they finish The Ordinary products much quicker?

    • yes, the bottles are tiny!

      • hence, isn't the person better off paying a little bit more for a better quality product that last longer??

        • Lasts ~4-6months depending on product. A little bit goes a long way. I stocked up on last year’s sale and still have unopened boxes and most have a decent shelf life if unopened.

Just because TO price point is cheaper than most, doesn’t mean the product is poorer quality than the more expensive brands, it’s just not filled with unnecessary crap.

          • @slee123: So they say…? Have you tried Hylamide? It's TO's one level up pricier cousin, all of them apart of the DECIEM family. I've tried niacinamide from TO and Hylamide with TO not working as effectively as Hylamide. Plus, as some of the DECIEM staff told me, if I buy TO niacinamide I may run out within 1-2 months, whereas Hylamide is 3-4 months.

            • @PeeDee: Hylamide is being discontinued - you can still purchase from the website but once it sells out it's not coming back. Best to stock up now.

              • @moocher: Yep I heard about it. But don't you agree that hylamide is the better cousin than TO?

                • @PeeDee: I've only used Hylamide serums, they generally combine more than one key ingredient per serum or have a higher concentration (e.g. their C25 contains 25% Ethylated Ascorbic Acid whereas TO's ELAA has 15%). However, for anti-aging serums, TO Buffet with copper peptides is more potent than SubQ skin and the price point reflects that (also confirmed by Deciem staff).

In terms of serums I see no difference in terms of how long a bottle lasts, they are mostly still 30ml bottles.

    • Not really. You're supposed to use 3-4 drops for the serums, they usually last me about 6 months used once daily.

  • True OzBargainers use soap

  • My order placed yesterday is arriving today - it's express post. That's pretty good for free delivery

  • Does anyone know if the black friday sales will be better than this deal? Not sure if I should buy now or hang out to see if they are better

    • +1

The 23% off all November is their month-long black friday sale - for the official store anyway.

  • Free shipping has been extended for another 2 days.

    • Quick one mate.
With these serums, how much is needed (drops) face + Neck, per application?

      • The usage instructions generally say 'a few drops to the face'.
