    Photo Frame, where my Wii!

  • im using 3 computers here and 2 internet connections to get on the damn site.
    its not working

  • Has the site got worse? I used to be able to get 1 in 10 refreshes working.. I havnt had one working in the last 20 or so

Might as well just work in the time I'm wasting on this site and pay full price :\

What a joke. This reminds more of a guy running a website out of his bedroom than a legitimate business.

  • i think the Wii will gone very fast…so it is every hour per item…i guess the stupid wii will come out at midnight… haha

  • +1

This has turned into COTD's Birthday Bash into Bash COTD's Birthday LOL.

  • FYI, Daewoo 7inch Digital Photoframe is $39,95 with $9.95 postage. The Wiki is locked by some guy for another 10 minutes.

  • can any1 predict whats next? the electric MOP?

  • Has anyone actually managed to buy something?

  • All this pain and suffering for a $29 Steam Mop!!

I just want a Steam Mop :( I have good intentions and I'm a kind person so what have I done to you COTD to deserve this sort of treatment??

Seriously though, I hope this little exercise will backfire big time on these jokers, to the point where people turn away from COTD in droves.

    I know I will!

    • yea their credibility just went down the drain.

    • The steamp mop is $32 buy it now on ebay.
      Save your time!!

  • has anyone been successful in buying anything? did the pages work smoothly for you??

i'm about to give up this whole thing..

  • Actually, I'm not going to buy the photo frame - JB Hi-Fi have one here for the same price - http://www.digitalhome.com.au/Digital_Cameras/Soniq/7_Inch_D…. I definitely would have bought it if their system let me, but that impulse feeling wears off after you see a "Sorry!" image a hundred times.

    Still keen for that steam-mop!

    • Hands Off cyssero, I saw it first!!

      • Settle down mate, or I'll mop the floor with you!

    • The JB one is $49.95 and the u have postage if ur gonna get it online of $12.95 o_O

      • You can pick up from JB = no postage.

    • TRUE!

It's not an exclusive bargain after all..

Rather than wait, here's another one I found after a quick search.

Go Lo and Crazy Clarks are selling 7" photo frame for $49.99

      http://lasoo.com.au/portal/offerdetails/digital_photo_frame/…

  • you guys are still here?
lol, 2 hours of your life gone.

we need more people visiting the website to get it shut down haha

  • As with others I'm gona give them a -ve vote. Sure the prices are good…but if your going to stagger the sale with only an hr an item then you better have the bandwidth to manage it. I very much doubt companies like Amazon ect go down when they do their similar sales otherwise they'd lose millions, and while obviously this is a much smaller site I think it's still bad for consumers when they get a "sorry" sign constantly for something that was promised to perform well.

    Shame, I like CotD myself.

  • do you have to reload the page on the hour or does it automatically refresh to the next item available? (yes, I'm new to this so don't laugh!

    • need to refresh

  • From whirlpool: Nano @ 3pm. TomTom @ 9pm, PS2 @ 10pm. Don't know how accurate/how the person got those times.

  • site is now totally dead - got connection error now.

  • its 49.95 + 12.95 postage at JB Hi-Fi. how much is postage for the frame at catchoftheday?

    • Well you can pick-up from JB where as COTD you must use postage. Both are just under $50.

    • If we were to get it from JB, for most of Australia, it would cost a $2 bus ticket…

And we wouldn't have to wait ages for a broken site and delivery

  • COTD can lick my battery. I had given them the benefit of the doubt until QQQ came on and said they had allowed for 5 x normal traffic. Surely you could predict that the promise of $99 iPods & Tomtoms & $199 Wiis would mean a 50 or even 100 fold increase. Clowns.

    • (the internet ate my first comment, I think)

I agree, this is clearly a pulicity stunt and they probably already have ACA or Today Tonight or Women's Weekly lined up to cover it.

  • I got to the confirmation of order page.. clicked it and waited for it to load… then popped up the "sorry blah blah…" message… cbf clicking back… if it went through good otherwise oh well…

  • waste of time trying

  • I explained the idea of this sale to my mum and her response was, what great marketing sense. She didn't get the idea of the surprise item every hour, she was like "C'mon someone take one for the team and buy the daewoo photo frame so we can move onto something better". I'm trying to get my mum into technology and using her computer, keep the posts coming guys, it's been fairly entertaining.

      go to school

      • Go to school? You're an idiot. I work from home and my mum is a pensioner. Can we get a mod to delete the dumbass comment above or possibly give him a kick up the rear.

    • Photo frame sold out ages back :O

Now for some reason my login and password dont work :(

  • What a crock - COTD should really be shutting this down & announcing they'll try again at a future date - once the gremlins are ironed out. Very disappointing & very unprofessional. Bunch of amateurs.

  • When preparing for today's increased traffic.. COTD has probably added an array of those unsold $498 ASOOOS EE PC to load balance their web server systems

    • LOL

  • hey guys,

just to share my horrid experience.

i put the RC chopper into the cart, and checked at 130pm, it was still there. then i put in the DVD player into the cart too, it still showed the RC copter.

and now all of a sudden my cart is empty. i did not log out, did not do anything except refresh the fricking CoTD website |||||^1000 times.

    they are so buggered.

    • Mate, it's fair enough I reckon.

I know you intended to buy them but if everyone put everything their helicopters, DVD players into their carts without actually going through with it, COTD wouldn't have made any sale at the end of the day.

Just buy it when you can is my suggestion.

      • yeah i know it makes good business sense.

thing is, i was only holding out until SOMEONE (anyone) could clarify the combined shipping details for me. I posted here earlier asking that question, and I also emailed admin@cotd, and called them with a dead dial tone.

i would have gladly checked out my items if someone could confirm that combined shipping would still work with multiple checkouts today.

        anyone have any answers ?

        • Frankly I don't see any item will last (be available) for over an hour. And if you want to combine postage you have to wait for the next item to come out, but I'm afraid the previous item will already be sold out.

    • I'm not sure what you expected. Both items sold out? Putting them in the cart doesnt reserve the items as far as I'm aware nor should it. If everyone put it in their cart for an hr and then decided they didnt want them they've stopped anyone else buying the item and they don't make any sales. The perfmance of the site is inexcusable, but theres no point trying to put multiple items in the one cart.

  • Nice one COTD !!!
Its like inviting guests for your birthday party but then telling them sorry you can't get in. I hope you will drop by on our next birthday bash :)

  • Photo frames are all sold out haha……

  • put all my details in and said is sold out!

  • guys at Zazz must be laughing right now :)

    • lol zazz is so much better than cotd !YEAH ZAZZ!

      • yeah i've bought heaps of crap from zazz too. i like zazz because most of the nation is asleep by then so that's a good time to release a $200 wii over there ;)

  • Publicity stunt, I bet they already have ACA on the phone.

"Surely you could predict that the promise of $99 iPods & Tomtoms & $199 Wiis would mean a 50 or even 100 fold increase. Clowns."

    Exactly.

  • I've got a better chance of snatching Angelina Jolie away from Brad than getting on to buy something on COTD :(

    • I wish I can say the same thing but sadly my chances of getting something on COTD is still slightly higher, however slim it is… :(

  • so hungry gonna get some lunch - tried of waiting :P (losing interest). hope to be back for next item

  • I love that they didn't predict this many people and the slogan of the store is "More than you bargained for" :D

  • OMG MY HELI!!!!!!!
    Order Completed

Your order has been successfully processed! Your products will arrive at their destination within 7 to 10 working days.

Thanks for shopping with us online!

    YAYAYYA HELI YAYAYAYYA

    • My friend at work bought a similar one (possibly exactly the same) and he played only once.
He says it's crap. Let us know how it is when you receive it.

      • will let you know, i had it in my cart trying to complete the order for ages. I think paypal account is the trick…

    • When did you completed the order?
I saw the photo frame is sold out around 2:30 (Sydney time)

    • u got the frame?
it was sold out after i put in all the info and i use paypal

      • Using paypal makes it even more bloodly hard to place an order.

If connection problem occurs after you sign in into paypal and click continue to return to COTD, you will have re-do it all again…

  • I tried to vote negative but my account isn't old enough :( Having limited stock, a new item each hour and servers that can't handle the traffic… fine, it was to be expected. But once something goes into your shopping cart you should be able to buy it. It shouldn't disappear or tell you to remove it because it's sold out.

  • Im just happy to have got 1 item lol, beat the system once :S hopefully will again with the tom tom and wii :S

  • What's the whirlpool link?

    Edit: found it.

  • update from whirlpool:

wii goes on a 6 (so says the dude)

    time for a 3hr nap !! =)

  • have to see if the nano is next for it to be true

  • NANO IS ON…………………….

  • IPOD! IPOD! who wants IPOD.. IPOD's UP

  • damnit its the ipod! i got in but then the checkout page wont load ARGH!

  • website not loading!!!!

  • in the checkout!

  • Anyone know what time the camera is on?

  • OMG website is not loading and i want a damn ipod!!!!!

    • same.. it was the only thing i wanted as well :/

  • Wii at 6 TomTom at 9 apparently? Thats the two I wanted.

Maybe the camera but the specs sound chunky, is anybody sure if it is one of those nice compact ones they sellt hese days?

    • yup apparently those are the times.

the camera should be the samsung s860. just google it and get some reviews.
i think it's average, but for the price, it's a good deal.
yes it's chunky because it uses 2 AA batteries rather than those rechargable Li-Ion batteries.

  • argh sorry error page!

  • GOT THE IPOD!! WAHAHA, spammed 3 accounts just to get 3.

keep refreshing the website ull get in faster.

  • Yay !!! - I was successful in getting a nano.
Now who wants to buy it off me?

    • i will :D

      • How much do you want to catch it for?

        • i don know

  • To answer the big question of when the Wii goes on sale… 6pm. I found this from doing a bit of url hacking.
