Switch is such old tech now and for Nintendo to still be charging $400+ for their OLED model is ridiculous. This is why I don't support Nintendo; they think they are above everyone else. Sony is going the same way.. I love PlayStation and I really want a PSVR2 but can't justify their greedy egotistical pricing!! Their head is up their a$$ because of PS5's success and sales!
Shouldn't Apple be added to this list? I liked Apple products but moved to Samsung for this exact reason. They think they can charge what they like and never have specials/reductions because people will pay and sadly they do.
Same goes for Nintendo, still charging full price for games that are 5 years old. Re-releasing old games on a new console at full price, never discounting.
But if people are stupid enough to pay it, you have to agree with the business model. The consumer is as much to blame as the company…
I tell the parents I work with to buy Playstation/Xbox as initially it's a higher price but long term the Switch is the most expensive console after purchasing games. Yes it's portable but it's also seriously lacking graphically.Well I could go on all day about those companies too lol but I was just referring to gaming. :)
You are so right about the consumer being blamed, world has gone mad, people will pay anything, believe anything and follow anything that is trending. Whatever is popular they have to like or have! Social media has killed society!
Nintendo wasn't doing too well until they pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the switch but now this portable console is getting long in the tooth and they are milking it, preying on kids who rely on mummy and daddy to buy the games and they have to pay it.Edit: I have a PS5, Series X & PC. I've wanted a switch but even though I can easily afford it, I can't justify paying $400 for ancient tech as opposed to my current gaming ecosystems. Nintendo can keep their exclusives they aren't worth it. And unless Sony brings a bunch of really good VR games or drops the price, they can keep the PSVR2 as well. I'll buy a Quest 2 instead or wait for something else.
Samsung devices are practically the iPhone of android these days anyway, their pricing is just about ridiculous, they got rid of the removable battery, aux port, sd card reader, just about anything that makes an android capable of being better than an iPhone, I really don't understand how you people can cry about Apple and then jump to Samsung of all brands.
I understand. Personally i was commenting on my experience a few years ago when i went to buy an Iphone and ended up with an S10+, at the time it was newer than the latest Iphone and at least a few $100 cheaper so even though i was happy with Iphone I felt like i was paying more money for the name, not the product. Perhaps now they are as bad as one another. My comment just reflected my experience and I was not quick to forget, perhaps others experiences differ from mine and i respect that (this is not the Ozbargain way, but I like to be different)

I agree, although I got the Splatoon deal cause I've really wanted a switch for ever, mainly wanted to play BotW (which I'm loving). I am very surprised how much games still are. I want to get MK8 but I'm not paying full price - just waiting for one to pop up on Gumtree. Got BotW for $40 on GT.

Currently playing through Mario Odyssey with my 9yo son. Amazing game, beautiful graphics and gameplay. If it was double the price it would be a bargain.
