If I had a 3090 I wouldn't be thinking about upgrading this generation at all.

    • Lmao you need to research OLEDs man

      Fantastic for 4k 120hz gaming

  • Thanks Luke! Got one :)

  • +3

Also looking for someone with 3060+ for around $1200 like previous deals

  • -4

As always, buy at your own risk with TechFast. Poor quality control and borderline dishonest practice. I will never use them again.

    • can you explain further? There is another company selling machines similar ….campany starts with B, are they a better option?

      • +3

        Boobcomputer is definitely better

      • +2

I've bought 2 PCs from TechFast now with no issues.

First PC I bought they upgraded my GPU and activated Windows for free. Had a PSU issue 13 months after purchase, they sent me a new (better) PSU free of charge.

Second PC is running strong, no issues.

        • +2

Techfast wouldn't swap out my faulty GIGABYTE PSU, directed me to go through the manufacturer.

          • @abuch47: that's seems very inconsistent of them

      • -6

Sure, first of all, they put in a HD of lower capacity than ordered. When I discovered this, they refunded me the price difference between the lower and higher drive.
Secondly, they shipped the tower to me full of air pocket packing. No warning of this at all, when starting up the computer for the first time one of these plastic balloons got caught up in the fans after making a horrid racket.
Thirdly, their build quality was very sub par. In assembling the computer, they stripped several of the case screws, the case rattled horribly and the side was just never attached properly.

Ultimately I paid another store to source a new case and move over the internals for me. They did a great job.

        • +1

I only see the third as an issue. First one you were refunded for the difference. Second one was on you if it had a glass side panel. No way you could have missed the air pockets while removing it from the box.

          • +1

@Vita85: It did not have a glass side panel, it was a solid, cheap metal case. Do you think that it is reasonable for someone purchasing a brand new computer to have to open up the case (Possibly voiding warranty) to check for shipping materials that were not disclosed or expected? IE: should a layman buyer reasonably be expected to know to open up the tower of their new computer prior to switching on with no prior warning?

Great they refunded the difference in price, but I specced the computer a certain way for a reason. They then wanted me to drop the computer off to them to rectify their mistake. As I live semi regional you can see how that is a problem.

            • @FilePeter: um yes, all desktops shipped has that. stop being lazy and scared to open it, its normal, its shipping protection.>
your really upset over this. move on

              • @Rukiata: Who is scared? If there are steps to be taken before using an item, do you not think that the customer should be informed?

    • +3

Bought two systems from them with no issues and good after sales support.

Is this a valid neg since it relates to your personal grievance and has nothing to do with this offer being a deal?

      • +3

It's kinda yes and no, it's not related to the deal, but it is to the possible experience.

I think if you took it to the extreme and had "Company A" offer goods at really good prices and only honour half the orders a negative response would be valid on their next bargain. Kinda more like a buyer beware neg, not a this deal is bad neg.

      • +7

Good for you, I am glad that you had a good experience. I had a terrible one and will share it if I like. Relevant to the actual deal? Maybe, maybe not. But if I had read a warning like mine prior to making my purchase, I certainly would've reconsidered.

        • +2

          Furry muff. Thanks for clarifying.

        • +4

I agree. I would prefer to be warned when people have a terrible experience.

      • +1

The community can decide by negging his comment and then his deal neg will be auto removed.

But perhaps warning against cheaper computer retailers is not a bad thing, generally.

    • Mrs and younger brother both bought PCs from TechFast over 3 years ago and they're still going well.

    • +1

I had a great experience with them a few years back.

    • +2

I've bought one PC so far which sadly came with a massive dent on the top of the case. I had to return it and wait quite awhile for a replacement. The 3080 was also faulty and had to wait 6 weeks for it to be repaired. However, CS was polite, helpful and prompt so I would still come back as the value and CS is hard to come by.

  • +12

Won't downvoted because this is a good price for a 4080 pc, but I would strongly discourage people buying 4080s.

They are already looking to be poor value against the 7900xtx in the US, but Nvidia has tossed on an extra few hundred after the US to AUD conversion (plus GST) for fun. AMD don't normally do that so the 7900xtx could possibly flog the 4080 here.

    • +1

fingers crossed amd does well in productivity this gen

  • Where are Gainward in the GPU World as in quality? Never used them before… are they lower tier or middle of road or ??

    • +1

They are a small group but depending on their model, they rank pretty high. I have the Gainward Phantom 3080 which is an S class model within the 3080 series.

      • +2

        They are a small group

It's part of Palit, which is probably NVIDIA's largest AIB partner now with EVGA gone.

        • You sir are correct. I rescind my ignorant statement.

          • @ShinK0: They are a small part of Palit though, so I think it still kinda works

  • Any more 4090 offers upcoming @luketechfast?

    • Hi there,

Not at this stage. We may have something in the future.

      Cheers,

  • can this run Minecraft RTX

  • was hoping to see a around $1000 deal for Christmas, this is way way way out of bugdet :(

    • $1000 deal for a 4080?

      • +1

no, I am realistic, a $1000 deal with little bit more attractive specs than the previous $979 will be great.

  • hi have a a quick quesiton

RTX 4080 16GB (primarily Gainward in use) - is it phantom or the phoenix model for the gainward?

  • How about the rest of the parts? Will this be able to play games at 4K, 120fps no problemo?

    • +1

I highly recommend a RAM upgrade to 32gb total. Most AAA games need at least 16gb to run leaving you no room for windows+ discord + background apps.
      As for 4k/120fps:
I'm running a similar spec setup but with a 3070, and get 165fps @ 1440p with ultra graphics on most A-tier games. Dropping the quality or limiting to 120fps for AAA games is still solid. If you want 4k gaming however, this 4080 is what you'll need (definitely not the 4090!)

  • +3

Hey @luketechfast can we get an option to upgrade the cpu to a 5800X3D if you can source enough stock?
Feels like a better match to the 4080

  • +1

I'm still really happy with my 3080 build i got from them over 1 1/2 years ago, when 3080's were $3k each they were the real heroes selling whole systems for retail prices. I could have gone out the day i got my system and sold my card and made $500 and still kept the rest of my system, oh the mining boom you will not be missed.

  • +1

Hey, any 3080 deals soon? Last time you said there will be some in the not too distant future

  • Tempted by this, but really have little idea about computer components nowadays.

Worth upgrading the CPU? 100% to be used as a gaming PC. Read in previous comments that upgrading to the ram is a must. Will be split use between 4K120HZ tv and computer monitor, so would like to take advantage. Not much point in buying if I won't see much improvement over current gen consoles.

    • Yeah I think so, the cpu is a really good budget cpu but way underperforms the 4080.

      • Thanks

So upgrading the cpu means upgrading to water cooling. Silly question, but how loud do people suppose a system like this would be?

        • +1

No idea look into a review of the AIO - also in reply to your other comment 12th or 13th gen intel is a better match for the 4080

  • +3

I really can't understand TechFast SERIOUSLY.

If you want to make good deal with new 4080 VGA, why not 5800x3d? or at least 5800x or 13600k?

    5600 is effing unblanced and can't use 4080 100%.

if you want to seel remaining stock of 5600, sell it with cheaper graphics cards.

This is really a dumb combination.

    • 5700X an ok combination?

      • better than 5600 tho still not enough.

        4080 30~40% is faster than 3090.

people usually use at least 12700k for 3090 VGA.

    • +2

      From the description

As always, we've done our absolute best to deliver the lowest entry point possible into the new tech.

This deal wasn't made with top performance in mind

    • +1

You have to view it from the vendor perspective. The bundle effectively sells the 4080 at retail price (they lose nothing) while still making money off older PC parts that people have stopped buying (they make money).

Tbh this deal is still not bad overall since it can definitely play 4k games at really high fps, even when considering losing maybe 20-30% performance by CPU bottleneck. Other companies will offer more balanced builds with 4080 but the cost is like 5k for that extra 20-30% perf gain

      • +1

Agree with what you said but it's not 20-30% unless it's an extremely cpu heavy game. In most cases a few percent unless it's 1080p

      • +1

At 4k you will be entirely GPU bottle necked. At most even with the 5600 you might lost 10%. 1440 at most 15% 1080 you are an idiot don't buy this pc

        • So to be clear, if I'm getting this for 4K gaming, it's a fine combination? $3,000 is my upper limit for any hardware purchase.

  • im waiting for DDR5 ram to upgrade. no point if not getting every new spec

  • +1

nVidia fan boys are strong in this thread, a 4080 is really a 4070 more or less, check it out compared to NVIDIA CUDA Cores count:

    9728 vs 16384 - 60% (4080 vs 4090)
    5888 vs 10496 - 56% (3070 vs 3090)
    2304 vs 4352 - 53% (2070 vs 2080Ti)

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/graphics-cards/compare/

    • Be good to see some more data to back up your point. It certainly hints at something shifty potentially going on, but on it's own isn't strong enough to verify the claim that the 4080 is just a 4070. I mean, I wouldn't put it past any big company to pull this type of stunt, especially Nvidia with the current generation and the insane pricing.

Edit: if you look at it from a different perspective, maybe Nvidia are just going balls out at the high end this generation and the 4090 is just an overpowered product that breaks the mould from previous gens?

      • +1

Well it has a lower end die and a smaller memory bus, nVidia's Jensen Huang has said he wants his graphics card/bricks (mid-range) to cost the same as a whole next-gen console. There are videos on Youtube where people go into more detail, these bricks are clearly in the area of a 4070 and the 12GB 4080 was/is really a 4060. People should know they get performance uplifts for free more or less as there is no reason to upgrade if not, if I call a goose a dog it doesn't mean its not really a goose even if it can play fetch.

        • You’ve only shared one metric so far. Saying a creature has two legs and wings doesn’t make it a goose.

Which channels are you referring to? I’d like to be more informed on this perspective.

          • @sickaunt: "I know nothing about this discussion and refuse to learn. You're wrong, but you must spoonfeed me."

        • -1

After watching one YT clip by I’m A Mac last night, it’s obvious that the pricing change is ridiculous. Wth kind of justification is “I think it should cost the same as a console”. Reminds me of how much I fricken detest corporations and their mantra of always increasing profit for shareholders and (profanity) the customers raw. So yeah, from that perspective I agree.

However, as someone that never had the funds for high end tech when I was younger….actually nah, the prices are just (profanity). But that doesn’t stop me wanting a 4090 pretty badly (even at $3000), and I’ve already bought a 13700k and some DDR5 ram, plus I have gaming use cases where it fills a need my 3080ti can’t, so…take my money and soul Nvidia, I s’pose…

  • Nice deal. What's the warranty on the GPU alone?

  • +1

Highly considering this, was looking to buy new parts on BF and do a fresh build with a 3070 and 12th gen intel at around 2.4k. 4080 at cost even with the 5700X is decent, although after adding all the QOL upgrades the price of this goes to about 3.6k

Hard descision to make considering im not financially constrained and my current build has lasted 5years (1080 7th gen intel) might just be worth shelling the extra grand for a very strong gpu.

    • What QOL upgrades would there be?

      • +1

Personally i'd go with the upgraded CPU and 32gb ram as a minimum to avoid as much bottleneck as possible,
        AIO (+ Necessary case upgrade) and motherboard for better temps;
1TB m.2 ssd to replace my current 500gb and use the spare 1TB I have as theres only 2 M.2 slots

        Basically everything haha

  • @luketechfast Do you know if there are any deals on 3070, 3080 or 3080Ti PCs coming out soon?

  • Amazing price considering the 4080 just dropped! The 4080 is worth as much as the whole PC in some places, has good specs for RAM, and storage aswell!

  • Looks pretty good. Not sure which motherboard it is…
And the CPU would need to upgrade, as well as mem.
So switching to the 5700X and going up to 32Gb… it's 3,033.64 with the discount. Probably still OK.

  • You know, we poor people needs Christmas deal too :(

  • Hanging out for a good 3080 deal for Black Friday. The GTX 1060 system I bought from techfast about 5 years ago just carked it… At least I think, it's currently at a repair shop getting looked at.

    • I'd be curious what failed in the machine

  • Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached it's usage limit!

  • Has anyone received shipping notice on this build?

    • +1

No word regarding my November build order

    • +1

      Nope I’m still waiting

    • Nope, still waiting on my November order too - was told last week this was due to waiting on a shipment of 4080's - @luketechfast - any updates? :)

      • still waiting as well, was told the same. here's hoping that we get our PCs before Christmas

    • Didn't receive a shipping notice from Techfast, but I did get the Australia Post notification last Thursday and received it yesterday. Unfortunately can't get any signal to show but this is what I get for not paying for windows preinstalled I guess 😂 Have contacted support about it and yet to receive a response just yet.

  • Any reviews on how the 4080s are from those who have received them? Cheers in advance.
