Damn they really did up the price from a few days ago huh

    • +3

$20 more expensive, that's an 3.7% mark up from the pre-order price.

      • +2

Damn who let this guy out of the penalty box?

      • +2

your fault for using windows 11 tbh

  • +4

Crazy that this has been around the same price for ages now without dropping.

    • +2

They did drop though, with the recent price cuts earlier in the month. They were $669 for like 2 months prior, and was full price for the first 3 months it came out.

      • +4

that's the funny thing, these were on sale for ~$569+-20 here for a while before the official MSRP cut from USD$449 to USD$349. but that cut never seems to have trickled down under.

personally i'm holding out for that ~AUD$150 drop.

        • +1

349 USD is approx 518.34 AUD, add GST to that and you're getting basically MSRP?

          • +3

            @CYMA: you missed the point.

we were getting AUD$569+-20 pricing while the MSRP was USD$449.

Now the MSRP is USD$349, we're still getting AUD$569+-20 pricing

            • +4

@xrailgun: I think we just got the price drop a couple of weeks before the MSRP was officially updated.

            • +2

@xrailgun: Ah I get ya now. You really think we'll see that kind of drop any time soon? Can you link to stores in US selling for below the MSRP?

    • +2

      why would it drop

it's easily the 3rd if not best gaming CPU on the market,it's sold out EVERYWHER in the US and almost OOS in the EU

it's a bonkers good CPU for anyone with an AM4 or looking for a budet build

It beats a 13700k in a lot of games and is a year older

When can we expect Amazon's Black Friday deals to come through? Was hoping early sales starting today

    • +4

We'll probably see other AMD chips discounted during the sales, but I'd be surprised if there's signficant discount on this.

It's been low stock/out of stock at a bunch of places for a while now and seems to sell quickly as it's what everyone is after.

    • +1

I wouldn't be too hopefully due to the seemingly limited stock availability for this chip

    • +1

      This won't be discounted

The BReak even price at wholesale of the 5800xd works out at 515 bucks, anything lower than that and ur paying below wholesale cost..

Unless AMD offers the shop a rebate it's not going to go lower than that

7600x is going to be 399 For black friday i've heard though

  • +5

    Sub 400 then we talk

    • +4

good luck, as the commenters above have said, this CPU is in high demand right now. doubt any more are being made

      • +3

It will likely still be in production for a while.

These are effectively EPYC Milan-X chiplets and enterprise won't be jumping immediately to Genoa and Genoa-X hasn't launched yet.

Plus it doesn't cut into AMD's 5nm wafer allocation, it uses cheap 7nm, and there are so so many AM4 boards out there with AM5 products not competitive enough to Intel products. AMD would absolutely want to continue selling these rather than risking a customer upgrading to Intel.

  • +1

    5900X or 5800X3D ?

  • What’s the all time lowest price?

  • +3

Holding for $500 for Black Friday hopefully

    • +1

Seems like theres a bunch here looking for sub $500

  • I bought on the pre-order and people are getting theirs from this deal already.

  • seems to be 599 again
