LG 42" OLED 4K EVO C2 Smart TV OLED42C2PSA $1288 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys eBay

1660
SNSNOV

Previously this price was only available for NSWers through the Bing Lee eBay store. Was going to order one from JB last night for $1388 but thought I'd see what the morning brought, and luckily it paid off.

Stock was available for click and collect at my local, and eBay stock says "more than 10 available", only 2 (including mine) have sold since the price drop.

  • it says $1,318.60 to me

    worked now thanks

  • +1

    Shit.

  • Lucky Binglee sold out all near my place, was sad last night did not grab one in the daytime. thanks!

  • Will the stores match the eBay price?

    • +1

      Highly unlikely

    • They’ll match the pre coupon price since it is the same price as their physical TGG store

    • Brought a fridge and a washing machine at Bing Lee local store after haggle my way through for them to honour the EBay coupon discount. Also paid one delivery fees for two items unlike EBay. So good luck they might honour it depending on who you speak with.

  • Thanks OP just refunded my JB order

  • Why so cheap?

  • Bought one thanks. Very cheap

  • This would be great for gaming

  • +3

nice. it is so weird this year, so many deals but I am not buying anything

almost got convinced to pick up OLED TV and an Xbox, but nah.

weirdest week-long black friday in history

    • It's strange isn't it, I'm really debating if I should hold out until the new year and see if tv prices have dropped in general.
the past few weeks I've watched them come down drastically.

      • +1

yeah. I am not convinced to buy now

changed my laptop in September, and there's nothing better on the market to trigger an upgrade

upgraded camera to Sony with the deals around Sony cashbacks etc. around a month ago

and after DeLonghi carnage in the last few weeks

I don't think I need to buy a single thing

although I convinced myself to pick up a lens I wanted for my camera. there's that I guess, but could have lived without it, too lol but CR 10% off Sony and AmEx $100 off offer have been around for weeks, black friday just dropped the base price another $100 or so, nothing special

last few years black Friday was a marathon! but very quiet for me this year. so odd

      • spoke too soon! got monitor arm, Xbox X for $599, lens for my camera for $600, and a mew TV is incoming for $1000 lol

but I am selling my gaming laptop, so I won't be losing much actually

    • I guess because it's too many good deals, too many options

      • that too

  • Afterpay it is , was shooting for a 3423dw but c2 price is too good

    • I still can't decide. pros of each, main concern is that 42" is gonna hurt my brain being so big lol

      • Just set up my 42, I have a deep desk , it’s fine

        • thanks for feedback, gee you got it fast!

  • +5

Wish there was a cheap deal in the 55” C2

    • same same

      • +2

I ended up getting the CS after doing some research on it.

It is essentially a C2 minus the EVO panel, but in the "shell" of the C1 - the stand, the frame, etc.

The processor, inputs, and features are mostly the same as the C2.

Plus the remote control doesn't have NFC.

The main thing I would be missing is the extra 20% brightness that the C2 can push with the EVO panel, but from what I can see in store, the CS is bright enough already.

I think the stand and shell of the C1 looks a bit more elegant than the C2 (personal opinion).

Excellent price for the CS at the moment - around $1800. The cheapest the C2 ever got to was low $2k's I think. So $200 less for the CS which is "almost" the same as the C2 is pretty decent.

  • Waiting for the 65 C2 Black Friday discount but still good price

  • +1

Anyone know if JB will price match with ebay coupon?

    • No, I just tried and they said they don’t.

  • Nice find, thankfully was still cheaper at JB with gift cards so don't feel too bad :O

  • +4

    Powerland $1270 delivered https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/195485835159

    • Voucher only discounts $68.50 for me so ends up around $1300.

  • Anyone been able to get the code to work?

    • +2

I had an issue where the code would deactivate when choosing PayPal and click and collect, but worked when choosing credit card as the payment method instead of PayPal

  • so tempting… but 42" just seems small these days.

  • Not sure why this code doesn't work on the 55" model. When I applied this code, I could not choose the pickup option.

  • +1

Frustrating my 2 closest stores list as instock on Good guys website but checking out on eBay says no stock

    • Same, I tried 5 different times, and got the same message for all in stock stores.

    • I had the same issue. Ended up paying the $35 for delivery.

  • Thanks, got this for my Mum. Will keep an eye on prices over next few days and cancel this order if find anything better.

  • This or BRAVIA XR A80J 4K Smart TV? Not about the sizes but the technology and so on. I would want to use the new TV mainly for my PS5.

    • +2

LG c2 has four full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, the Sony only has two. That means no free 2.1 ports for on the Sony VRR/120hz @ 4K after you have the ps5 and an eARC sound system plugged in.
The Sony J models are also last year’s so might not get as many years of updates, can’t say for sure.
Both use the LG panel anyway, only significant difference for watching movies would be the processing differences between lg and Sony.

      • +2

only significant difference for watching movies would be the processing differences between lg and Sony.

Another consideration is WebOS vs GoogleTV

        • Absolutely true, I have both and don’t mind either

  • Damn thought I posted this comment already..

Anyway can anyone comment on this vs the other ozb fav the FV43U as both a PC gaming monitor and for work?

Edit - just thinking…wouldn't most work laptops be stuck outputting at 60hz on this too?

    • +2

I can’t speak to the fv43u, but I’ve had my c2 for a week now. I came from an X34P

Yes, you’ll be stuck at 60hz. For me this is fine for work tasks.

Text clarity is good. There is a distracting blue tint that comes in off centre when viewing at monitor distances.

Gaming is great, Oled blacks are sexy, I also actually enjoy being able to turn the pc off and just browse YouTube.

      • Cheers mate :) I'm using one of the Xiaomi 34" right now but this is mighty tempting to upsize my AOE4 haha!

  • +2

Great deal thanks OP, I opted for click and collect (vic) and have just opened the box, look it's pretty big lol will take some time to get used to as a work monitor!

  • Will it be safe to assume this these are the WBE panels? If anyone has picked it up and checked, I'd really appreciate knowing.

    • +1

I got mine from the bing lee deal, can confirm it's a WBE panel with a May production date.

      • Thanks so much for the response. I had a feeling they might be using the older stock with the WBC panel for Black Friday sales. How do you recommend checking it?

  • Thanks, ordered one!

  • Thanks, also ordered one. They sent me an SMS a few moments later, delivery scheduled for Friday 🎉

    • Mine was scheduled for Friday delivery but I phoned the warehouse and went and picked it up instead.

  • Are there any stores that have this in display? Want to see if it's monitor size appropriate

    • One at good guys nunawading but they have none in stock.

    • You can try any brand TV in 42” in store to get an idea about size suitability.

  • Will there be any sales on the Sony A90K 42 inch?

  • Thank you OP, I bought one! Guess I'll be needing a new graphics card now lol

  • Yoloooooooooo
RIP my work but YAY my gaming

  • This is so damn tempting….but I feel this is still too big for everyday desktop use.

  • Fyi showing 2 at bayswater good guys but didnt want to drive there. Also 5 were at jb nunawading if you guys cant find stock. Ebay smashed there stock lvls. Mine i went to pick up was sold..

  • Wondering if I should sell my fo48u and swap it for one of these as I mainly use the monitor to watch media as opposed to game

  • Would people recommend this for a PC monitor/ occasional tv or would the dedicated Dell or Samsung OLED monitors be the way to go? I'm thinking burn-in and not being built for specific purpose as potential challenges…

    • Sure hope it works, that's what I bought it for! I'll be rolling out every trick out there to avoid burn in issues and see how it goes.

    • You can get an extended warranty with JBHIFI for $131 which they say covers it for burn-in for 5 years. I bought one the other day and added this, my friend messaged JB and they said the warranty covers burn-in.

      • +1

sadly burn-in is NOT included in the JB HiFi Extra Care.
i clicked the terms and conditons, and just looked for burn-in.
its on the upper left part of page 10 of the JB HiFi Extra Care document.

i was about to return my unit and repurchase with Extra Care as i forgot to add the Extra Care when I initially purchased it. had a quick search about burn-ins in their document.

i do hope i misread it wrong, but from my understanding, it is NOT covered.
        happy to be corrected. 😊

  • I’m surprised these are still available!

  • I wanted to get this one as a monitor. The price is really good compared to spending $2300 for an ASUS OLED pg42uq which would only be available earlier next year. However, I am a little worried that using a TV as a monitor. Certain functions would be missing, such as automatically turning itself off.

  • This TV is going to hit sub $1000 in 2023

    • Why you think?

  • Anyone seen any Deals for the LG C2 55" (LG OLED55C2PSC) ?
Still holding out to find a price closer to $2k, but I haven't seen anyone get even close to that number yet….

    • +1

I don't know why, but this black friday sale period retailers / LG appear to be discounting the CS models in 55/65, rather than the C2. Maybe it's a supply issue? Hopefully boxing day…

    • Honestly for sub 2k i would go for S95B

  • +1

I went to TGG store, Chadstone refused to price match then I tried another one in Dandenong, the manager did price match, paid with TGG gift cards, another 15% off, whoo-hoo!

  • I can wait until Boxing day, but will there be a better 55 deal than the A80J?

  • Anyone have a wall mount recommendation to get this very flat? I see there's an official one but rather expensive…

  • Received a phone call this morning.

6 weeks wait on back order.

    • This is a worry…
Did you get a msg asking you to book a delivery date?
Edit - actually I can see mine is with Toll. Sorry to hear your luck all the same mate.

  • Lol. Toll picked up my TV from a store in Brisbane on Friday, and expect to deliver it to me (within 15km of the store) by the end of the week.
Imagine a courier taking 5 days to deliver a parcel in the same city…
There's a reason I buy everything from Amazon these days.

    • It probably goes into their sorting system to get processed, etc.

I've had a parcel (via Aus Post) take a whole week to be delivered to the destination which is a 5-10min drive away from me.
