No backlight is a deal breaker for me.

      Deal made?

No, it doesn’t work the same.

Older model. Not 300 dpi. No USB-C. Only 8GB.

It's worth paying $20 more for the 2022 version when they go on sale.

Age shall not weary it, 8gb is plenty for an ereader, same with 300dpi. Mini usb is a bit annoying but you only charge it every month or so at most. Some people might prefer saving the 20 bucks

All the things you pointed out are worth knowing, just not neg worthy

    • 8gb Kindle can still hold 2000 - 6000 books on average, depending on size.

Kindle 2022 is currently $179…I doubt it will go $99 soon.

???? The 2022 version is $100 more, not $20 more lol. Not sure where is neg coming from

      • he did say when they go on sale
so lets wait for him to give some proof that the sale indeed happened in the past

@wolfhorn The 2022 version is not on sale right now, but you know it will be. Amazon devices go on sale all the time, often at half price.

@Jackson There's a noticeable difference between 300 ppi and 167 ppi. It's like going from 720p or below to 1080p or 4K. Once you have experienced it, you would not want to go back.

The cable is an issue because it's one more cable to keep around or carry with you when you are traveling. You might only need to charge the e-reader once a month while you are at home and read for 20 minutes each night. When you go on holiday, you have a lot more reading time, including hours at the airport and on the planes so you will need to have a charging cable handy.

Storage size isn't an issue but more is always better, especially if it's a free upgrade that came with a higher resolution screen and the convenience of usb-c.
