At $365 AUD shipped you will be hard pressed to find a better value performance card. Keep in mind these are not reference cards and are capable of 30-40% overclocks in some cases. At those speeds they can outperform gtx 680's at a fraction of the cost.

  • Just tried it then and it allows you to ship to Aus. Nice find :)

  • dont forget 20 mail in rebate, if you can be bothered

20 bux - postage to us

    • forget it needs a us address to send a cheque back

      • Use borderlinx.

This card is cheap. I wish Amazon would ship the Gigabyte 670 Windforce though. That would be a killer price and better value for money.

    • forget it. rebate period has expired

  • Should I wait for GTX660Ti or buy this one?

  • so how does this compare to the Gigabyte 670???

  • I just bought a gigabyte windforce 7950 from Amazon. Its $349.95 US and cost me $368AUD delivered. I'd take the giga over msi. :)

    • Did the Gigabyte have a reference cooler though?

Any chance you could link to the exact model?

  • +1

    what are reference cards ?

    • Stock cards 'as designed' with no factory modifications. This one probably has an extra fan and a redesigned heat sink to allow it to stay cooler.

  • Price gone back up!!! :( dam it…. I was doing a bit of research .. and missed it….. that will teach me.

  • Amazon's price is still $339. $399 is TigerDirect's price.

    • woops my bad, for some reason its defaulting to another vendor. price is still correct, I think ill have to buy one now.

"At those speeds they can outperform gtx 680's at a fraction of the cost".

That's a pretty brave, if not outright foolish, claim. Unless it's based on using crazy settings on one card and stock settings on the other - which still makes it a foolish claim.

    • Agreed, Tom's hardware puts GTX 680 two whole tiers higher:

      Tom's GPU hierarchy chart

      • -1

He's talking about oc it by 30 to 40% and you linked to a chart showing it not oc.

        gj.

        • So you're saying that if you overclock one card and not the other, they're even. Not a sensible argument.

      • IMO after a bit of researching on guru3d.com, tomshardware.com & anandtech.com :

        I agree it shouldn't outperform a 680

So should I get the gigabyte windforce 7950 mentioned above or this?

Check the link. Personally I bought the giga. Please be aware there is no international warranty, either card will have to be shipped back to the states if there's a problem.

The giga is $455 here, $368 shipped from the states (the price of a 7870 here). These cards overclock really hard and will near match/beat 670/680.

      • Huh?

Those benchmarks don't show it beating the 680 nor does it show the 670 in the graph.

        http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-review…

Don't forget that you could probably overclock a 670 as well which will more likely put it in the lead of an overclocked 7950.

I'm not saying this deal is bad.
Just wanted to mention the above in case people are considering purchasing thinking it'll out do the 670/680 cards.

At the moment the price point is pretty good and I'm really tempted to go ahead and get one of these cards.
Will have to take a gamble and wait for the GTX 660 to be released in 1-2 months.

        • That's because its comparing giga and msi 7950's????. Answering magoo's question.

  • what's a frozr, and why do I need two of them?

  • Is it time to upgrade my GTX580?

    • No. In 2 years time or when PS4 arrives.

    • yes I will happily take it off your hands for $50 :)

  • Great price. How much is it locally, $429?

The GTX 660 is rumored to be released in a month or so and should improve prices of most high end AMD cards.

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/NVIDIA-Prepares-GeForce-GTX-6…

    • I couldn't find the Twin Frozr locally, $429 is for the lower MSI model.

I'm very tempted to pick up either the MSi or the GB windforce but the 660Ti will be released by the end of this month supposedly, that will either bring us a decently performing cheaper card or at the very least bring down the price of these AMD cards even further.

    • I'm hoping it's not just speculation.

      The original article:
      http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=sv&tl=en&js=n&prev=…

No mention of the high end AMD cards dropping in price though.
Hopefully the midrange cards drop which will make them much more attractive

      • Think I might take the plunge, anyone know how accurate those Amazon shipping times are?
        Seem a bit long lol

  • You can get almost the same ~$20 more expensive if you buy from pc case gear at:
    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=19…

I know it's a different price but it's also from Australia and their reviews are great. A friend of mine had a graphics card that broke after two and half years and they replaced it with a newer one of a higher purchase price because they didn't have a replacement card.
