I need to hang up some posters and decided to invest in a laser level. Was doing research and reviews say green laser ones are more visible in outdoors/bright conditions and project further out than red but are more expensive and batteries don't last as long. After reading reviews, was happy with the red laser for my needs.

A few good deals on Amazon - I ended up going with Universal Level 3 Red Laser with 1.5m tripod for $125.99 delivered because it comes with 1.5m tripod rather than 1.1m in the cheaper version below plus it has extra functionality (that I'd never use) and also has a storage case for the device (but not the tripod).

For comparison, Bunnings has a lower specced Universal Level 2 Red Laser with 1.5m tripod for $179.99
Youtube review of Level 3 Vs Level 2
Professional version with tripod would set you back $245 at Bunnings

Other good deals:

Quigo Plus Red Laser with 1.1m tripod for $69.00 delivered
Not as cheap as back in 2018 but neither are the groceries or petrol

Quigo Green Laser Gen 2 with clamp but no tripod for $88.80 delivered
Cheaper than first generation for $96.75 that was a somewhat popular deal in 2019 and first generation for $90 in 2021

Combine with $7 off first pickup or $5 off by buying $75 gift card.
First promo didn't work for me but second one did so saved $5 just by buying gift card (emailed within 30 seconds) and redeeming it straight away for this purchase.

Don't forget cashback.

    thanks for the work!

Are you sure this one is green? The comments and the pictures of the laser suggest it's a red laser. I think they're being cheeky in the description and saying that the skin colour is green.

    • Reviews suggest red laser, good pick up

      • Even the youtube video of the laser shows it's a red laser

It's red laser. I see the confusion - I was trying to be helpful by sharing my research in case people need to work outdoors (that's why I posted one link for green) but I was happy with red at this price.

Updated description to make it clearer - thanks!

If you don't need one right now, might be worth waiting for a repeat of this deal currently @ $195.72 which gives you 360* line

    • Yep, that was a good deal (although without the tripod). Unfortunately not part of Black Friday special at the moment.

    • Don't know about the green line though - seems to have poorer visibility than red…

It'd also be worth having a look at the Uni-T ones, e.g. this for $78 or generic ones for $30.

You can get a tripod or light stand pretty cheaply.

    • Do you have experience with any of these laser levels? I'm about to do some tiling in a few weeks and looking to get one. Thanks

Picked up a cheap generic one from Ebay for $89 and works great for normal DIY person, similar ones branded are $500 plus.

  • I'm looking to invest in one to construct fence infront of my house. What and which to invest good for outdoor diy use?

I'm no fence builder, but I would imagine you just want a string line for that purpose.

This projects a laser onto objects… so not sure what you would project onto for it to be useful.
