    Really good system
    - The ATMOS immersive experience requires operation at a decent volume (but works really well)
    - Very wide sound stage
    - Most ATMOS content is 7.1 (adaptive mode will uplift to 11.1.4), but surround mode is closer to cinema.
    - Careful of the height, 65" is possibly the smallest TV to even consider this
    - Rears are best mounted on a stand, but you can increase the volume

      7.1 is traditional surround. Atmos isn't limited to static channels and will use whatever you throw at it. So there is no 'uplifting Atmos content' from 7.1 because it is not encoded as such (other than 7.1 being a fall back configuration).

      It is either native Atmos 11.1.4 or standard surround audio (unless you force either by changing modes).

        Let me try and re-word correctly.
        Regardless on content, ATMOS or otherwise;

        Standard Mode - Will only use 7.1ch
        Surround and Adaptive modes will use - 11.1.4ch

      Can I get clarification on this point as you threw me when mentioning height. Are you saying that the Atmos up firing speakers create a sound stage height that does not synergize with smaller TV screens? Or maybe you're saying that this soundbar is 123.2cm wide and looks odd under a smaller TV as it does not fit flush with the edges of the TV screen at smaller sizes below 65 inches?

        a) It is a wide soundbar, so may not fit in between the legs of a smaller TV
        b) It is relatively tall for a soundbar (still smaller then most centre speakers), so may block the IR or bezel of some smaller TV.s

        Guess what I am saying is double-check the dimensions before ordering.

      Most compatibility issues will be fixed changing the TV from eARC to ARC.
      eARC is for the LOSSLESS formats, none of the streaming services support these anyway.

      I have switched to a $49 Amazon Firestick 4k (Black Friday), and plugged directly into the soundbar (not the TV)
      Much faster interface than the TV, Adult\Kid friendly remote that replaced all the other remotes, just works great.

      Something to consider..

        I believe the issue was with sony TV’s and not with LG ? I am also running Apple TV plugged directly jntit the sound-bar and works a treat, really really good sound for what it is.

    wonder if the q930b at $770 and the rears seperately for $175 would be more worthwhile than this. technically that would be a 11.1.6 system @ $925 vs this 11.1.4 @ $1149 right?

    The 990b is a step up with a different subwoofer, extra speakers and some other minor features etc, really just comes down to your budget and your needs. 930b is still great though.

        Thanks for this! I called Samsung and they gave the voucher codes. It doesn’t work in the Samsung education store but worked in the normal Samsung account and used ShopBack 4% off on top.

        Ended up getting the Q990B for $1189 and AX90 air purifier for $424. It’s a steal for this price compared to their RRP.

    Hei guys, I was able to get it for $980 over JB online chat and with perks of $10 it became $970. I had some store credits with Goodguys, so went to goodguys hoppers crossing and was able to order one (no stock, but expecting to arrive the new stock in a week) with price matching $970. I can share the receipt if it's helpful for someone.

      When I first spoke to TGG, someone agreed to price match to appliance central. But when I went in, they said they can price match the website plus whatever they charge for shipping ($1245 + $59). Ridiculous! They know we are very limited option in rural and they are taking advantage of the situation.

      I ended up getting from Samsung.

    So glad we are scoring this premium soundbar under $1k. Set up mine and it is freaking amazing. I have a large living room too like 6x5 and rear speakers are not on stands yet. I’m going to do some more testing tonight.

        Went from old Samsung 320w sound bar to this and I was AMAZED. I mean they call it premium top of the range sound bar for a reason. I now watch Netflix shows on 25 volume and the auto EQ + Surround effect is SO good. I’d rate it 10 out of 10.

      I would think it’s the best value for sound especially for TV. Tested against Bose 900 and Sonos Arc at JB in store. In terms of the clarity of dialog and low bass as well as sound height for Atmos content. Hope to pull the trigger by tomorrow :).
