  On Windows you can probably just get away with using the free WinMerge. On Mac though, Beyond Compare seems the best option (albeit paid).

  There is a good business opportunity for the budding developer (with lots of free time), to go through all the nice open source software built for Windows and try and adapt/convert to run on Mac and then sell $. It won't be a simple exercise, but not impossible either.

  Been using this for years too, well made piece of software. You can also add buttons to Directory Opus (deal also posted on OzBargain) to launch BC with the selected files.

  Great software, been using the trial version for a long time, for some reason it has never expired.
