Plus $175 for a stand lol that won’t even work with a sound bar.

    • +1

Yep… don't forgot that it only comes with the wall mount in the box.

      • +2

My G1 came with a stand in a separate box. Even when they told me it doesn’t come with it. I bought from JB hi-fi.

Honestly if you are buying this and not wall mounting it, why are you even buying it?

        • -6

No worth wall mounting a 65”, 75” sure

        • I'm with you. G2 is for wall mounting. Otherwise save some coin and get the C2….minimal performance differences…

        • +4

if you are buying this and not wall mounting it, why are you even buying it?

because this is the best LG OLED model (better than C2 because of heat-sink), regardless of mount.

          • @AlexF: So shouldn’t be complaining about mount then if someone knowingly buys it?

            • @Pricebeat: The complaint is LG's a shit mount for best panel, not of panel or price.

              • @AlexF: The panel is meant for wall mounting. That’s why they don’t even include stand in the first place. If someone buys knowing all this then they choose and accept what comes with it. It’s like me buying Ferrari and then getting angry I don’t have bigger boot the size of a SUV. The optional stand is like towing trailer behind Ferrari to make up for the lost storage, it won’t look good.

    • When i got my g1 it came with a stand.
Said it didnt on the box but i got a separate box

    • +1

What do you mean the stand doesn't work with a sound bar? Badly shaped?

      • +2

        Too low

    • +1

      I have my 65" G1 on this stand and it's perfect - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DJ32DYK?ref_=pe_2361882_2972…

  • 55 cheap as well?

    • 2488 so yes

      • Bargain

        • HN is doing 10% returned in gift cards tomorrow, which means $259.50 returned on their $2595 G2 55". So $2335.50 if you don't mind having the rest in gift card form.

          • @mackdiddy: You can get the 15% discounted gift cards from coles and get it from JB Hi-Fi

            • @Pricebeat: No kidding! Is there a limit to how much in gift cards I can get or pay with?

              • @mackdiddy: Don’t think so, as long as you keep them peeled and ready to go I guess

                • @Pricebeat: Thanks! Probably better get to Coles early then…

                  • +1

@mackdiddy: Nah, those cards have been on sale for a couple of days now. Good luck finding any

                    • @mxTDD: Ah damn, oh well. I'll revert back to the HN deal.

                      • @mackdiddy: Those coles 15% off were 'limit 5 per customer"…so go through checkout a few times.

That said, wollworths have 10% off ultimate giftcards, and plenty in stock - bought myself $700 today for $630 to get missus the F25 escooter (price match david jones)

  • Great find! Bought the same model from the good guys couple of weeks ago for $3436 + Delivery. Time to claim pricing cover with my platinum CBA debit card!

    • Good luck, hopefully they print it in a catalogue!

    • I just spoke to them and they refunded me the difference in store credit

They’re selling for $3285 in store today

  • I'm waiting for the Black Friday deals.

    • Next year lol

To clarify the G2 only comes with the wall mount, no stand.

Last years G1 was launched similarly but then LG back-pedalled and offered a free stand (in a separate box), hence the confusion.

Older G series panels included both in the box.

The G series has always been pitched at wall mounting, and particularly with the C2 now also getting the Evo panel, there’s no real reason to buy the G2 and NOT mount it.

    • Can verify this.

Had last years G1 77" and came with a complimentary stand in a separate box upon delivery from JB.
Received this year's G2 83" and did NOT come with a stand.

Also, if you are NOT intending on wall mounting it.. get the "C" model.

      • +2

G2 > C2. Another option is to buy your own stand.
        I have my 65" G1 on this stand and it's perfect - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07DJ32DYK?ref_=pe_2361882_2972…

      • I'm looking at getting he G2 83" if any decent deals come up.

What were you roughly able to pickup yours for as a guide?

        • +1

Long story short. 9k with delivery and installation. (This included JB's 20% off all LG TV's which has happened around June/July for the last two years + free delivery offer +75" sized TV purchase at the time)
I had a bad panel with the G1 and then the replacement panel from LG was no good either so had the option of either:
          a. Get another new replacement panel
          b. New tv replacement
          c. Money back.
I chose money back instead since the G2 was announced and got that instead.

    • One reason is that the G2 with stand is roughly the same price as a C2 right now. C2 deals are few and far between at the moment, maybe that will change tomorrow.

      • C2 won’t be marked down, that’s what the CS stunt model is for.

Great prices on the G2 or CS though for anyone who was looking at the C2.

  • +1

Ah crap - do we think this deal will still be alive tomorrow for me to go in store and buy? :/ might be able to get them to chuck in a stand and/or delivery.
    Hmmm

    • +1

Likely yeah, would probably want to get in early as possible

  • Waiting for C2 :(

  • +1

Wow this is amazing value for the G2.

  • At HN it's $3495 ($3145.5 after 10% gift card promo) https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-65-inch-g2-gallery-series…

    • They have already matched JB, $3285 with 10% in gift cards = $2956.5

  • I’m planning to buy from a JB in Canberra but have it delivered to Brisbane (where I am moving soon).

Does anyone know if JB will do this, or will they direct me to buy online since it’s not a local delivery?

I’d like to buy in store, but if I have to order online because of the interstate delivery, I may as well order it now.

    Thanks in advance :)

    • I suggest to purchase from Bing Lee from the online store - which is the same price (they also have a cash back going on at the moment)

You can select delivery date I believe 2-3 months ahead, so that should allow you to select a delivery date from when you will be in the new place.

    Where's the 77 deals??

    • Check Videopro prices.. they’re selling it for less.. If it’s in stock, ask jb/tgg to price match it

      • +1

Is over double the price worth an extra 12 inches?

  • How about price match this at TGG and get $70 in store cash.

  • +1

I paid 4K for the G1 65” last year on release

  • Deal of the day. The 55 and 65. Current owner of the G2 55 had since EOFY sales at $2700. Buy this with a q930b Soundbar and simply enjoy. Live the dream!

    • Any rear speaker disconnection issues with the Q930?

  • +3

Would love a decent deal on a 77G2.

    • Reports were ppl were getting sub $6k walk-up/instore deals at TGG and JB - cheapest reportedly $5500

  • Got one!! Black Friday is killing me this year haha!

  • S95b at $2800 or G2 at $3288 :|

    • Do you care about Dolby Vision content? If yes, then G2.

    • Where is S95 for $2800?

Edit: also according to Rtings S95 is rated slightly better than LG.

  • About to pull the trigger on this and saw it was wall mount only so now delivery+wall mount install bumped it up to eat away the 15% saving.
I did see the CS panel there in store and it was great but the 5yr panel guarantee is worth the $100 a year thereabouts I feel..
Samsung was next on my list tho with the QD-OLED but i think the LG will cut the mustard for now
