[Refurb] Epson Ecotank 2811 (ET-2811) $159 Delivered (Was $399 When New) @ Epson Australia

140

Have been on the lookout for one of these inktank printers because I'm sick of overpriced cartridges and flaky aftermarket replacements.
Was hoping for a Black Friday deal but the cheapest it got to was $359.
An ad popped up on my Facebook Marketplace with this deal, so I bought one.
The ET-2811 is the Officeworks exclusive black version of the normal white ET-2810.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

It cannot do a double sided printing

Not always required. I don't care about double sided printing, especially if it saves me dollars.

  • Thanks OP ordered one. . Was also looking to get a tank printer and coundnt find any good black friday deal yet . Decided to ditch my HP printer as the cartidge costs more than $100 everytime .Also annoying HP login everytime to scan. Will miss the document feeder though.

    • Yeah I ordered on Monday and it arrived Wednesday. I was a little annoyed it didn't come with ink bottles, but then I realised it still had ink in it, more than half full, so not all bad.

      • So these printers come with ink already installed? I was hoping to get one for sublimation printing and apparently you can't have any regular ink already installed (and flushing the old ink seems difficult).

        • It only comes in these ones because it's refurbished, so someone has already put the ink in. If you need one that hasn't had ink in it then this prob isn't for you.

  • They have an 18 month warranty one for ~$220 there too.

Be aware some of the ecotank models don't have user replaceable ink pads, so have 'built in' obsolesce as they stop working when the ink pad gets full (ie gotta send it in for maintenance) :-/

  • It looks very similar to my ET-2710. Probably a refresh of it.

Got mine in March 2019 and going strong. Definitely a reliable printer/scanner (or at least mine is).

  • I got a ET-4550 many years ago, still going strong and ink is very cheap,

well worth getting if you print a bit.

    • Yes, when I was investigating the best ecotank printers I saw a review that said they're not good if you only print out the odd page as the ink dries out. I guess with one of these because the ink is cheap we're more likely to use it for the odd print jobs rather than when we have cartridges.

  • Bought 1 on the day I see this post and got it the next day, however, the machine is dead on arrival, only yellow is working, cleaned the print head many times and still the same result.

I guess the printer is sitting in the warehouse for too long and print head is completely dried out.

Called Epson and they ask me to take the printer to the service centre, what a joke. I refused and asking for a full refund, now I am waiting for someone higher to call me back.

    • What happened with this? Did someone call you back?

      • They just keep asking me to take it to their service center for repair, what a joke, until I request to return and refund, then they organized another replacement to send to me and someone from airroad picked up the faulty one, the replacement is working fine, but I am not putting high hope on it.

        • Thanks for the update. Sounds like bad after service. I did end up buying one though.. maybe they'll send me your return.. ahahahaha. Oh man.. I'm bracing myself now!
