I have this printer and paid around $749 a few months ago. Stock was hard to come by at that time. It's a solid and reliable colour laser printer. Good bargain found by OP.
EDIT: It's heavy and bulky too so its a bonus getting delivery! ;)

That's true. The box is huge.

I was in the OW carpark and had to pull it out of the box as it didn't fit in my small car. 😂😂 Hat off to the OW employee he took all the packaging and disposed of it.

        • I bought the black and white one from officeworks recently and it wouldn't fit in my boot, I got pretty worried for a while until it just fit in backseat!

    • +2

Cheaper than I can get from supplier.

    • yep, surprise to see these on sale, given few months ago barely any stocks, got the MFC-L3770CDW on the previous deal, it is bulky, so you will need a space dedicated to it, put mine in the cupboard, the good thing is it does wireless scan/print, so you can put it anywhere, and only plug it in when you want to use it.

  • Very big and heavy but fantastic MFC. Great price.

Anyone finding Amazon no longer delivering to Perth and for things not in stock at Perth warehouse, January 20 delivery times?

    • I think it's probably because of the flooding in central NSW and how it's affecting (closed) the rail lines between Sydney & Brisbane to Perth. Had email from Star track, Aus post, & Sendle saying there'll be delay in shipping between those cities for up to more than 1 week!

    • My local Brisbane warehouse delivery times have pushed out to a week. Usually happens after their big sale events.

    • Yes they do. I just done so

Does it block third party toners? If it does, can the firmware be downgraded/hacked to support them?

    • Same question

    • I am not 100% sure but my supplier did quote me price for third party toners

    • +2

I bought this a few months ago - I do a lot of printing. By default, I found the printer setting turned off for automatic updates - which is what I googled was necessary to use third party toners. I have already replaced 2 toners with generic ones and have had no isses.

    • +1

I also got one of these earlier this year. I have gone through 3 black and a set of colour toner - all generic ones. Firmware is also always up to date.

      • Wondering if third party toners will void warranty

        • Found this on Brothers website "The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem caused by the use of unauthorized third party supplies."

So, if a problem was not caused by the generic toner, shouldn't be an issue, I guess.

I thought this over, and decided I don't need it and will stick with my monochrome Brother laser.

My Brother mfc 9330cdw was only $350 2 years back and has same features as this. Works with 3rd party toners also.

  • not sure who this printer is for?

  • all gone ?

  • Looks like this has been Ozbargained already :-)

  • Sold out unfortunately

Anyone know if these printers have the updated firmware that disallows third party toner?

  • Too late to the party it seems.

  • So disappointing, missed this opportunity. Hoping it goes on offer again.
