Generic or brand name, these are quite useless! Vacuuming water from a window :)!

That could not be further from the truth for us. We get quite bad condensation in our house in winter (which can lead to other problems if not managed) and the Kogan one i bought has been fantastic so far. Wish i bought years ago.

        Glad it works for you.

A nice cotton cloth is easier and takes away more moisture than any of these machines.

        It’s the corners this doesn’t get…..at all….ever….!

        • For us, total opposite. There must be crapper versions of these machines as the one i'm using doesn't leave any moisture on the window except for maybe the very bottom or corner if i am not careful, but thats like less than 1% of the moisture and a little wipe gets it. If all you're trying to deal with is like a bathroom window or something then yeah i agree not necessary but for us its big bedroom and living room windows. I was having to use bath towels to deal with it even when trying to use dehumidifiers (old house). I've not tried to use it washing windows or whatever other features but for moisture removal from windows it's much better than using cloth/towels. This is probably subjective to what you're trying to tackle i guess.

I'd have to (kind of) disagree - a boring old squeegee cleans the window just fine, but will drip dirty/soapy water on whatever is below the window.
I use one of these things for drying car windows after a wash. Very fast, doesn't make a mess of the paint, and leaves the window 100% clean unlike a towel.

For the outside of your house, agree it's probably not that useful unless you're fussy.

      • Gah what a good idea! I've been wiping car windows like a pleb while the one my wife bought sits in storage

    • Been there, done that. Bought all these gimmicks thinking it would make life better, but sometimes the simple things in life really are the best.
Secret ingredient to having nice, streak free, clean windows is not Windex but a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap.

      • And use paper towel for streak free.

  • Nice find. Been wanting to give one a go and the price is right

  • Thanks OP .. Got one!

      Kmart has everything it seems

  • This or a steam cleaner?

I pay a professional $200 a year to do my whole house. That’s enough for me

      • That's pretty good, who do you do it with and which city are you located ?

Edit: I forgot I had tiles. Why not now 🤣

Original comment: Use water/dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle. Save ya $$

  • Grabbed one! thanks OP!… swish on :)

  • Nice, I combined it with the targeted 7OFFPICKUP code to get an extra $7 off.

  • I have one of these, use it most days to vac shower screen to minimise condensation, works great, battery lasts ages

    Looks like they've all gone.

    • Bummer, was spending a few minutes reading reviews and comparing with a Ryobi One+ version and had decided to buy this one then they were all gone.

      • I bought one during one of the previous specials and just wanted to get a screenshot for a price protection claim, and I even missed that.

  • By the time I looked at the other ones it'd gone! I snoozed, I losed.

  • Aldi has these last year for under $10. They were really good.

I wonder how one of these things would go with floors? Windows I don't care about so much, but cleaning floors its always a pita when you have to wait an hour for them to dry

    • I don’t think it’d be good for your back. Go with regular wet vacuums that exist.

  • Hahaha tried these and they are useless.. No matter how slow or what you do is a gimmick

    • So, you've tried a Bosch one or just an el-cheapo from KMart or Aldi?

I find it works really well - the blade is the same as Bosch windscreen wipers - i.e. really good.

  • It was available again a few minutes ago and it said "80% claimed; ends in 1hr 23m" then I had another look and they're gone.

Bought a Black & Decker one for $9 long long time ago and no issues at all. Don't know what the hype is lol.

    • How is that appropriate use of the neg? It is not.

  • Good advice from Tom’s guide: “A window vacuum cleaner is essentially a squeegee combined with a vacuum. So, if you’ve got a dirty window and you spray some water or cleaning solution onto it, then use the window vacuum, it won’t work. You need to first clean the window before you can vacuum it dry.” That's exactly my thought, same as steam mop.
