Seems like a decent deal, im looking to build my DeWalt collection.

  • good price

  • Looks like its in store only now, I picked it up from Amazon.

  • Can you use this for wheel lug nuts?

    • 200nm shouldn't be a issue for it.

    • I hope so.

    • my dcf887 205Nm can’t work it out

    • +1

Lug nuts on most cars and 4×4's are done up to 80-120nm of torque. A caravan and boat trailer are at 150-180nm depending on the size. A lot of people want more toque and want 800+….. which seriously, the average user would never use. Only things that need that sort of power are head bolts on an engine and i don't see too many people who would even know what to do with an engine stripped down that far lol. It can be VERY convenient to undo/breakaway bolts/nuts, but doing them up, use a torque wrench and manually do it.
As for the 887, it is a impact drill. A impact wrench has gears as to not snap your wrist when using it. 2 totally different mechanics of tool.

  • 203NM …..

  • +1

    203NM?

Most current impact drivers have this amount of torque.

My old Metabo impact wrench which still gets a lot of use has 400nm.

  • Any battery on sale?

    • Costco until next Sunday but of course you need to be a member. Can always join, buy, cancel etc.

      • Marketplace? Classifieds?

      • Costco don't sell batteries seperate?

    Not the Brushless model

  • 200NM? my ryobi 220Nm can only crack my wheel lugnuts i torque to 100Nm

    • -1

From my experience, a 200nm wrench can tighten but can't apply that amount of torque when trying to break. I needed a 400nm wrench to break 140nm tightened nuts.

      • I can back that up. Torque in these cases is measured as the maximum, which is only reached when the tool is spinning. That happens when you tighten a bolt, but to undo a bolt the torque needs to be provided from a standstill.

So theoretically this might have enough torque to undo a wheel nut, but to achieve it you'd have to first get the bit spinning in air, and then jam it onto the nut in the space of 1/30 of a second with the right orientation.

  • Pity it's In store only. I have the big big wrench which is great, but I seem to use my baby ozito 200nm much more than any other. It's a small convenient size. I also have a more powerful driver that. This, but having the 1/2 anvil is much much better than using a small adaptor.

  • Good price but seems a bit misleading given its not for delivery and Amazon doesn't appear to have any :(

    • It was delivery but switched to in store soon after it was posted. Amazon are on back order so can still be ordered.

      • Understand but still can't see it on Amazon

        • Must have oversold, it was available with see all buying options and thrn through Amazon Commercial.

As a previous customer I'd just say…..NEVER EVER buy anything from sydney tools online! If you have an experience like mine, you'd need to take the cheting bst*rds to court to get any satisfaction. And my experience was with an over $200 item delivered dead on arrival….. and their own repair tech report stated that the item was never fully wired up at the factory or anytime after that. Lots of other internet posts about their integrity (or lack of!).

TBH, Total Tools has way better customer service than Sydney Tools in either online or in-store purchases.

      • Sydney tools i've found employ absolute tools of workers. Their knowledge-base is very weak and my ex found she knew more than them and educated them sometimes lmao! One day i sat back and cracked up when she educated them about nails. Nobody in the shop knew what a ring shank nail was.

      • Second this. I have a Bunnings, Total Tools and Sydney Tools in the same location. My Total Tools has always been super friendly and helpful. Sydney Tools treated me like a criminal when I walked in with a bag on. No excuse me or do you mind leaving your bag at the front. Walked in and yelled at from behind "leave your bag at the front".

Though, they did come through with a ride on mower. All other mother places had no stock until late Jan, but they got me a unit within two weeks with a $300 discount. So, there's some good there as well.

  • Two available at Brookvale NSW.
