Loving my CS. My first HDR display. It's mind boggling.

You should see it on the LG G2 83 😜

      • Whats the cheapest youve seen the G2 83 for?

        • +2

I bought mine for 7590 2 weeks ago from TGG during 20 percent off sale and thats the cheapest its ever been.

          • @bekirk: Thats a great price bekirk for the G2 83" . Ive been looking to pick one up but there are just no good deals.

Would you by any chance be able to share/PM your receipt? Might finally be able to buy one.

            • +1

                  • @bekirk: Will do. Looks like your PMs may be turned off? "Settings>messaging"

      • 83 G2s were released with the older WBC panels not the EVO WBE panels. Whether they have upgraded them or not afterwards I'm not sure. Even in the states I've heard its still older panel, so unlikely Aus have it for the 83 size. 77 inch has the WBE panel though. Same with the 42 & 48 inch C2, released with older panels. LG playing dirty and a lot of people are p*ssed off

        • Wherabouts is the informaiton on this?

        • Thanks to you both for providing the info :)

          • @jonoz: Edit: The panels are all WBE but this year they have the second gen WBE evo ex. Last year they had the first gen evo. LG have said they are all the newer panels for all sizes but 42 and 48 will not have the brightness boost because of pixel density. Thats rubbish as they knowingly put the older panels in them. Which was proven by many reviewers and customers, which did have a brightness boost when the evo ex panels were actually updated in the smaller sizes. Was a surprise for many at the 83 inch considering the cost. Hopefully by now they have updated them but who knows? They even changed the info in the service menu to stop people from knowing what panel it is. In Aus we dont sell as many TVs as US, so its a lottery of what panel it is. The CS was made because of all the excess first gen WBE panels leftover. Very hard to trust LG with all this

  • Was able to easily get this from TGG (inc. delivery) for $4195 yesterday as per an earlier thread. Paid partially with gift cards, so actual outlay was just over $4k.

    • How did you manage that?

    • +1

Yep that seems to be the going price at TGG. I paid $4205 on Friday and it's being delivered this morning.

      • +1

As per the other thread, I got them down to $4k with free delivery. Paid using $500 denominations of ultimate gif cards at 10% off. Brought it down to $3,600.

        • I ended up getting $4055 delivered at tgg. Although 2 stores and the call centre told me they couldn’t do less than $4500

    • +1

Can also confirm $4,195 Inc delivery from TGG, paid with TCN gift cards to equate to $3,565

good to see big oled coming down close to 4k. unfortunately 77" already is way to small. I switched to 85" (not OLED) 2 years ago, so that's the my new normal. If anybody has an oled 83" and bigger for less than 7k let me know. ideally Sony.

unfortunately 77" already is way to small.

      That’s what she said

I just got the 83" C2 from Good Guys for $6500 delivered - all I did was ask for it at that price.
Someone should ask for it at $6000, as the sales guy didn't even need to "speak to the store manager"

      • Good to know, I'll give it a try. Thank you.

        • Let us know how you go

          • @MKBHD: I've been in-store to compare it to my tcl85" but I couldn't justify spending 3x as much. The oled looks amazing, but not 3x as good, especially not from 4m away. I much rather have the size. Those big screen oleds have to come down another $2000 for me to consider. They are 2X as good but not triple.

            • @AE: What metric are you using to determine that it is twice as good but not triple?

              • @eccaz: Purely subjective. When I'm standing 4m away from the tv in the shop and it doesn't impress me I'm not buying it. I was already on the edge because the oled is smaller. So it would've been a size downgrade but picture quality upgrade, which isn't ideal. If I buy something that is more expensive it has to be an improvement on all fronts, no compromises.

  • Has anyone price matched this online? Harvey Norman live chat basically told me to go away

  • Typical. Paid $5,488 last week for the Sony A80K 77”, but haven’t had the 10% cash back tracked or any indication of the $500 gift card being issued. This would have been much more convenient (and cheaper).
