  • Waiting for those parrot like ‘Not falling for this’ and ‘Uber is going broke’ comments..

    • Uber? They wouldn't be going broke in hurry. If they were, then a lot of other companies would be too.

      • -4

        Yeah ikr
Btw I didn’t say Uber is going broke but all these Hindsight Parrots might..

    • +1

Don’t forget the also common “I hate meal delivery services and refuse to pay extra when I can go and pick up myself”

    • -2

Uber eats is the most stable delivery service in Australia IMO
Just ordered from Menulog yesterday (to use the Deliveroo voucher) and status said "Delivered" with nothing being received
Never have such issue with Uber eats

      • +2

I've had ubereats mark stuff delivered that was nowhere to be seen on more than one occasion. I also had a driver cancel on me which resulted in a cold burger and chips when it finally arrived 30 mins late.

Everyone will have their own anecdotes. I've also had pleasant delivery experiences

      • Menulog has had the highest number of issues for me. My order last week was 2 hours late. For some reason, it's also the delivery service which is most likely to have missing items.

Uber has been is the most consistent for me though not without issues.

  • I still have about $200, from last offer Coles/Woolworths. Tempting but Not sure to buy more.

  • Thanks TA, good timing

Great, just in time to stack with Citi 5% cashback, bring it to 20% off

CashRewards will fall under MCC5734 'Computer Software Stores'

    • Thanks for the reminder

  • Anyone knows if Uber giftcards can be used for UberEats, and vice versa ?

    • +4

yes, Uber GC and be used in Uber Eats and vice versa, as the credit is stored in the same account

      • +2

        Thanks mate

      • Thank you. Ended up buying Uber Eats and applied it to my Uber balance.

Hi guys. For those messaging me on how to remove card details from True Rewards after completing purchase, please follow steps below. Have a great Sunday :)

    1. Go to payment for another gift card.
    2. Go to checkout - you'll see your card details just before hitting pay.
    3. Click the bin icon and it will be removed.
  • Just in time for all those xmas parties I'm crashing!  🥳

  • Do i still get receipt showing full price if i take Uber ? Thinking to buy gift card to get cashback but still have receipt for reimbursement from employer ?

    • +2

yes. you're paying $500 for a $500 uber balance which gets applied as normal. but you're then getting $75 cashback from CR.

    • +5

If you use Uber Cash to pay for an Uber trip, the Uber tax invoice you can access after you complete the trip will show the full amount you paid for the trip, but it will also show that you used Uber Cash as the payment method (rather than Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, etc). It would be up to your employer whether they reimburse you for an expense where Uber Cash was used as the payment method.

WookieMonster: The best in the business on gift card knowledge & advice. Absolute legend. Thank you :)

        • +2

The biggest hack is still eBay tax invoices not reflecting coupon codes.

    • -2

      Thats fraudulent

      • Why 😮

        • -2

You are being dishonest with your employer for a few dollars. Employer pays for your living

          • +2

@U30004: How is it any different to collecting credit card points? Should they be relinquished to the employer also? Frequent flyers? I don't understand your logic.

  • Thanks :) we are heading to the city tonight so perfectly timed for the Uber ride!

Why would one wanna have food delivered and not cook themselves??

    • +1

      Hmmm, let's see.
      -can't be bothered
      -lazy
      -no time
-nothing in the fridge to cook
      -no talent in cooking
-want to eat something that is not easy to cook at home

      Need more reason?

      • +3

Every food delivery deal always has at least one of these comments. Though I wonder why you even clicked on this deal in the first place. I personally only look at deals for products/services that I’m interested in.

        • -2

I look at the one i am not interested in at all

      • -2

So get someone else to use grubby hands to cook

    • +2

Why would one wanna buy food at a supermarket when you could go out and slaughter a cow themselves??

      Convenience, it's a hell of a drug.

        Being a vegan would help

        • +2

          Being a vegan never helps.

@freefall101: People will eat animals but love their dogs and wont harm them.

            • +2

@U30004: Dogs don’t taste as good as chicken or beef.

  • Even with 15% discount on uber eats.. the food is still costly through UE.

  • +2

Anyone else having issues adding their gc's to uber? I keep getting a 'Please try again'

    • +1

Yeah me too. They all worked until the last one, and it just won’t accept that code.

      • Exactly the same thing happened to me. Wonder if this is an Uber issue restricting adding too many gc’s or a true rewards gateway issue

        • +4

          @ozbargain2019 @libertine

I just pinged True Rewards about this and they confirmed the issue is at their end when you purchase 10 cards, and happens when attempting to load the 10th. They advised to please email them at [email protected] and they will sort it right away for you. Thanks so much :)

          • +1

@tightarse: Has anyone managed to get this resolved?

True Rewards support is now saying the issue is with Uber, not them.

            • @gilbarc: I got the same reply from True Rewards support. But I couldn't find UberEats Australia customer service number. Does anyone know how we can contact Uber about this?

              • @rickestrick: True Rewards has confirmed they’ve done further testing and now believe the issue is with the Uber app and possibly around card quantity and/or card value limits. There is definitely nothing amiss with the True Rewards redemption codes. They advise to please reach out to Uber support at this stage. Thanks.

              • @rickestrick: I'm trying the support chat through the Help section in the app. From past experience though, it typically takes quite a while for them to respond.

                • @gilbarc: Did they respond?

                  • +1

@ozbargain2019: They passed me off to yet another company.

Uber gift cards are sold and distributed by a third-party retailer, Launch Gift Cards.

As such, if you need any assistance with the purchase of your gift card, including refund or replacement requests, you’ll need to reach out to Launch Gift Cards directly for help.

Launch Gift Cards can be contacted via either of the below addresses:
                    [email protected]
                    [email protected]

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding.

However based on @tightarse's comment above about possible quantity/value limits, I gave the original code another go after 24 hours had passed, on the logic that it might be a daily limit. And it worked

So are the GC sold out or still available?

  • Do Uber gift cards have an expiry date?

  • Glad I have a motorbike. Works out cheaper than Uber eats!

  • I still haven't received the gift card, anybody had similar issues?

    • Hi. GCs are instant delivery. Maybe check junk/spam folder. Any issues, please call True Rewards on 1800 850 739 and they’ll sort it out right away. Please let us know how it goes :)

      • All sorted, typo in my email. Thanks for your help

        • Pleasure :)
