There is no price error in the title, it is simply a futuristic style of date format that we don't understand yet.

  • How’s this one compare to the Zeiss 55mm f1.8 in terms of corner sharpness? And is there quite a noticeable image quality difference compare to the 35mm f1.4 GM? Just use it for street or travel snaps

Why are you concerned with corner sharpness for street / travel snaps? You only need to care about corner sharpness if you're shooting test charts or landscapes where you actually have things of interest in the corner. For street of travel snaps, your corners are going to almost always be out of focus when shot at wide apertures, and everything is sharp when stopped down anyway.

FWIW, owning most of these Sony lenses, a 35mm and 55mm lens gives quite different perspectives, so are not direct substitutes for each other - i.e. not really a good comparison. Both are very sharp. Compared with the 35mm f/1.4 GM, the sharpness is practically the same, but the GM will have better build quality, better usability and durability, and of course, the f/1.4 aperture. Get the GM if you want to shoot it at f/1.4. If you're always going to shoot at f/5.6 in daylight, both are the same.

      • Thanks, already got the 35 1.8, very happy with every aspect, especially the sharpness and focus speed, it’s even quicker than the 24GM. The build quality is quite good but not superb. And it’s so light. I believe this is one of the most useful everyday lenses. Especially for someone hate changing lens constantly and want something easy to carry with good photo quality.

  • What would be a good lenses for travel?
We are thinking of getting the
    Sony 40mm f2.5 G
    Sony 24mm f2.8 G

    • Depends what kind of shots you feel you would normally take more often, but personally the versatility of the 24-105 G with OSS is hard to look past. Has a wider focal range than your standard 28-70, and yeah sure its one stop slower, but the OSS is incredibly useful when youll for sure be shooting the vast majority of your shots handheld.

      • I do feel like most of the time we want the lenses to be compact and lightweight to bring around.
