if the CPU was a 5600.. I'd be sold

    • +1

I would also take 2 of these (kids - Christmas).

      • +1

Is circa $1000 the going rate now for kids Christmas presents? I must be a scrooge then.

    • +13

Hi, we have an upgrade option for the CPU which is 5600X upgrade. Hope this will fit your needs!

      • +1

        Delivered to SA before Christmas?

  • +1

    Great budget gaming PC!

  • +2

Case listed is different to the case pictured.

  • +1

    The Ram is - 2 sticks of Kingston DDR4 3200MHz 8GB, totalling 16GB

    • +1

      Thank you for reminding us!

  • Does it come with windows (not activated)?

    • Hi, we will pre-install Windows without activation!

      • does windows even need activation? just wondering what you get for buying it? cheers op

        • -1

          Yes for 100% security

          • @MuddyClear: What specific security features do you get from activating?

            • @Sarazar: You get more regular updates. Otherwise you have to wait for the major updates, which makes the OS less secure.

        • You get to change the wallpaper.

(And get rid of the watermark in the corner)

          • @mystarey: There is more to it…

            • +1

@MuddyClear: Like what? You're saying security reasons and an unlicensed copy of Windows has no impact on security. All you get is a watermark and may lose some personalisation options.

The only time I'd worry is if you're a business with volume licensing. Microsoft sure do love to audit them.

      • Can you provide activation key and how much on top?

        • You can buy one from a third-party key shop for 10$ or less rather than 100$, check allkeyshop from sellers and make sure to pay using paypal in the unlikely event the key doens't work for a quick refund.

    • Nah. My media PC doesn't have win10 activated, its fine. That said, MS limit what you can change in settings and you get a persistant "active windows" watermark on the screen. I barely even see it anymore, even when Im playing games like Darktide

+1 for transparency regarding parts. This is how it should be.

    • +8

      Better quality than TechFast

    • The techfast equation: Other than the cpu and rarely named gpu, the rest is bottom shelf / off the floor.

  • +7

Worth noting the RX 6700 GPU upgrade for $79. Should give a 10% performance bump in 1440p

    • +1

Looks to out do the 3060 GPUs in videos I saw comparing. So probably worth the upgrade.

      • 6650 XT is stronger than the 3060, let alone 6700

    • +1

Where is the option to upgrade the GPU?

    • i can't find that option

    • Me either. Will buy when it shows up.

    • Not seeing this option available

      • They must've removed the option

        • Meaning too many people jumped on it now no longer available sadface

  • +3

Also a mouse if you buy today it seems

Been happy with BPC lately, bought a Mobo, ram, air cooler and a couple of nvme drives with free delivery, Good to see their not bundling with those trash A320 boards that techfast are pushing. Agree with above that a 5600(x) would be the cherry on top

  • +3

Went for the GPU & CPU upgrade. Free mouse and games is a nice bonus.

  • Is there any chance that Siren Vortex BlackFriday GeForce RTX 3060 White Build Gaming PC be restocked?

  • +2

Hi Rep, sorry some dumb questions here
    1. Does the case have enough space to put 2 extra 3.5" HDD? (from my old PC)
    2. Can the case RGB be turned off? As I am placing the PC in bedroom and its too bright at night (tend to never turn off my PC)

    • +1

I want to know the same.

    • +1

Does have space for 2 x 3.5 HDD

      https://www.msi.com/PC-Case/MAG-FORGE-112R

And there is LED button on the top. Not sure if it just to change between light sequence or turn it off as well.

      • +8

        Just answer my own question
        After reading the manual
By long pressing the LED button for 6 seconds can turn the LED off

  • What is the B550 mobo in the wifi upgrade option?

    • +2

I think it's mentioned in original post towards the bottom "MSI B550M PRO VDH Wifi Most likely"

      • ah yes, see that now..

  • +3

    TEAM RED build

  • +19

ASRock B550M-HDV is $149 at BPC Tech.
MSI B550M PRO VDH WIFI is $189 at BPC Tech.
Difference $40, but BPC charging an extra $129.

@BPC Technology whats with the huge +$129 charge to upgrade from the ASRock to the MSI given it costs $40 using your own retail pricing?
Taking advantage of people who want/need wifi?

Same with the CPUs (albeit not as unreasonable)
    Ryzen 5500: $159 (BPC)
    Ryzen 5600X: $259 (BPC)
Difference $100, but BPC charging an extra $119.

    inb4 price jack

    • It's their model on business. No question about it offering cheap flight like Jetstar but with all these add-ons to make it appealing and hurt your wallet

      • +1

I think ethical business models should be rewarded, and unethical models shunned.

        • Well Apple charges a hefty amount for internal memory for the next step up. And nobody seems call them suss or shunned and keeps buying iPhones

          Same shit here

  • @BPC Technology any equivalent deals with the 3060/ti? Thanks!

  • @PC Enthusiasts… I was looking at building a mid-tier gaming PC, is this worth not bothering? My budget was around the $1000, should I wait for something slightly better?

    • i'm no expert. get the victus 15L from HN.

        • +2

yea. you get windows which is 100 by itself. a 3060 Ti!!!!!!! and 5600G. plus warranty.

          • @ilove: Waiting for the Harvey Normal flaming - but that is a good deal indeed! I was keen to buy this offer from BPC but shipping to WA is $74 if you want to avoid Aramex. HN is $29 shipping

          • @ilove: I agree with you if you don't plan to upgrade or add anything yourself to the build then HP one is good

    • +4

If your confident with building, there's no need to buy a prebuilt OEM PC (the one this guy linked), garbage parts with limited upgradability.

Knocked this up in 10 seconds:
      https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/tDL7Bj

$200+ cheaper than that HP but I don't know what games and at what resolution your playing at. This deal probably better overall though if you upgraded the CPU especially since it comes ready to go.

  • Is the upgrade to cooler - Jonsbo CR1000 RGB Cooler for purely aesthetic or it offers better cooling ability as well?

    • +2

Biggest reason to take it is probably that it'll be quite a bit quieter under load.

  • +1

Do you have any plans for a 3070 gaming PC build? If not, how much would it cost for a gaming PC without a GPU?

    • +11

Hi! We have a new exciting 12TH Gen i9 + RTX 3070 Build in the coming week! Stay tuned!

      • +1

        wets pants with excitment!

      • +1

Rough pricepoint? Been looking for something in the 1.5k range but this sounds like it's going to closer to 2k and wondering whether I go for another of your build with upgrades

      • Would there be any 3080 specific builds too? Or only as a possible upgrade option to the 3070?

      • Any updates?

      • any updates sir?

        • +1

Hi! The stock should be arriving soon these days. We will release it once we sort out the stock and confirm everything else. Cheers!

          • @BPC Technology: thanks big boi! $

          • @BPC Technology: Any updates sir ?

          • @BPC Technology: Hey Rep,

When do you expect the deal to be online?

            • +2

              @OTFile: Hey,

Sorry for keeping everyone waiting. We are also eager to launch this product.
However, we are still waiting for the Chassis to arrive tomorrow due to the logistic issue.

Once we receive it we will manage to list it on our website asap.

      • Wouldn't Core i9 12th gen make the price too expensive? I'm looking for a RTX 3070 gaming PC for around $1200-1300

      • Patiently waiting!

      • It's been over 2 weeks already. You lied

  • why use a pcie gen 4 nvme drive when the r5 5500 doesnt support it?

    • +3

Mostly because despite it being Gen4, it's still either the cheapest or very nearly the cheapest M.2 SSD they stock. ;)

  • +1

    Just a few questions…

    1. Can the RGB lights be turned off on the Jonsbo CR1000 RGB cooler? Ive read it can only be turned off on the ARGB version.
    2. Is the WiFi motherboard WiFi 6?
    3. The WiFi motherboard has 1 front USB C yet the case does not. How would this work?
    • +3

      1) Looks like there's no non-destructive method to do it, no. However being a standard, and probably pretty mediocre 120mm x 25mm fan, you could probably get a good replacement such as the Arctic P12 for under $15. Bear in mind these Ryzens are pretty much the most efficient mainstream CPUs in the market so something like fan selection is not something you have to optimise.

      2) Nope, WiFi 5 / ac only. The default motherboard has no E-key M.2 slot either, so you'd have to buy a regular WiFi 6 expansion card either way if you needed it. Perhaps we could lobby BPC here to add the Asrock Pro4 or Riptide motherboard as options so we can add the $35 Intel AX200 card for WiFi 6?

      3) The header will just sit unused in stock configuration. If you really wanted to make use of it, you could buy a USB-C bracket like this to make use of it.

  • +1

No GPU upgrade showing. Out of stock?

  • +1

In need of a higher end spec. Hope to see one pop up soon!

    • Techfast 4080 build for $2800?

      • +1

I wanted to try BPC for this build as I've noticed they tend to use better parts.

  • Is this a good buy if I need a new pc for photo/video processing?

    • It's more suited for gaming than that kind of work, but being a good value pre-built means it's still better than what you'll get from most computer shops. Even at $119, I'd recommend the CPU upgrade to 5600X

  • that SSD tho

  • +1

Hey rep does this come with extra SATA ports for my old 3.5" HDDs. Would it void warranty if I add one myself? Got an old one lying around

Also what is RGB RAM and what's the GPU upgrade option?

  • thanks, what's the best value for money config?

  • What would be a good monitor combo to compliment this build from their website?

  • OOS :(
