        • How have you gone with the conversion to JB HiFi cards? Is the site blocking you/how many have you done? Cheers

  • $50 everyone has discount?

    • +1

      Yes it does

  • +7

I asked a staff memeber if they hand any stock out the back… Did you guys know these displays opened up?? https://imgur.com/SED6B0X

    • +1

Yep that's where they're all stored

    • +1

looks like opening a treasure chest lol

    • has anyone opened it themselves and grabbed it from there

  • Plenty at my local of all of them, went for 5x $50 Everyone, more stores at the expense of lower domination. I think only Him and Home seemed to be available in $100.

    • -2

      Everyone isn’t on special

      • Hint: It is. Coles are very meticulous with their wording of these specials. The phrase in the catalogue was “15% off Ultimate Gift Cards” and nowhere did it say “Excludes all other Ultimate Gift Cards not shown above.”

      • Yes it is

    • +1

Active & Wellness, Style/Shopping, Her, Beauty & Spa are all sold in $100 denominations at Coles, but I'm assuming you're not particularly interested in those? None of them have the holy trinity of Ultimate gift card participating retailers (JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Officeworks)…

Baby & Mum exists in $100 denomination, but I dont remember if Coles sells the $100 denomination. I mention this, because Blackhawk Network (accidentally) added The Good Guys to it at the end of September 2022.

      • +1

Maybe I didnt notice some of those but I think it was only Him and Home, cant imagine the other sold out either.

Funnily enough, I've probably spent close to $3k on both Ultimate and TCN cards in the last 6 months and dont think I have ever used them in JB Hifi, TGG, or Officeworks. Or even a particularly large purchase at any other retailer. They have usefulness beyond the holy trinity.

        • +2

          Fair enough!

Ultimate gift cards certainly have its usefulness beyond the “holy trinity” (and I only call them the “holy trinity”, because OzBargain is generally skewed towards tech deals, and as soon as you lump in JB Hi-Fi and/or The Good Guys and/or Officeworks into a gift card deal, people will get excited). I have definitely used Ultimate gift cards outside of the “holy trinity”, but I’m not like you… my redemption of them is definitely skewed towards Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys…

          • +1

@WookieMonster: I've simply run out of tech things that I need. For example, I have 3x 65"+ TVs that are under 2 years old. Pretty much all my household appliances are under 2 years old. I actually have a TGG gift card from a phone plan signup that I havent spent yet, I have no tech or appliances to buy.

          • @WookieMonster: I want to buy gift card that can be used at officeworks but none seems to have, so can I know if there is any option?

            • +1

@mo6842: Look at the Ultimate gift card website, as it will tell you the types of Ultimate gift cards accepted there… or look in the table in the deal description.

      • Blackhawk Network accidentally added TGG to Baby & Mum gift cards as a participating retailer? Should I be concerned? I'm looking to use Baby & Mum gift cards at TGG in store. Their website still lists TGG as a participating retailer.

        • +1

Yep. A Blackhawk Network rep told me during a previous 15% off deal:

These brands were not intended to be on these cards for this promotion

As soon as Blackhawk Network realised that JB Hi-Fi was accidentally included on the Ultimate Thanks gift card and The Good Guys was accidentally included on the Ultimate Baby & Mum gift cards, they removed them from those gift cards. That caused a lot of backlash (e.g. chargeback requests) and Blackhawk Network quickly added them back onto those gift cards.

Blackhawk Network acted within the terms and conditions of the gift card when they did this, but you have to admit it was a dick move to remove them…

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Thank you. Looks like it's wise to either convert them to physical TGG gift cards (I think it's possible) in store or just use them at TGG in store as soon as possible.

  • Does anyone known How many cards are you able to use (I.e split payment) at Amart Furniture?

  • +5

PSA: Kogan was added as a participating retailer of the Ultimate Home and Ultimate Everyone gift cards within the last 48 hours. I know that Kogan doesn't exactly have a great reputation, but yay for more participating retailers?

As a side note, I spotted IKEA erroneously listed on the Ultimate gift card on the All Retailers page a few months ago, so I wonder if they will one day join the scheme…

    • +3

The issue with Kogan, and other online retailers is not being able to do split payment. As you know the alternative is to exchange for a gift card but Kogan doesnt show up as an exchange option.

Its nice when there are online retailers where:
      1. You can exchange for gift card
      2. Can exchange for custom value (bonus points if the minimum is low)
      3. Can use multiple gift cards in one online transaction
      4. Use of the gift card does not prevent use of discount codes or cashback

Personally I've spent hundreds of dollars at The Iconic I wouldnt have because it meets the 4 above points, making it great for clearing out odd balances from ultimate gift cards.

      • Kogan sells eGC directly on its website so that it may work like JB HF.

    • +1

Thanks for this info. I had a HOME card from last year and it just worked on Kogan. It has an odd balance on it, but with some calculation and balance with Kogan points payment towards a purchase, I made the card balance to a whole dollar balance again. It makes much easy to clear every cent on it for me from now on.

VISA version definitely gets the lastest update.

  • @WookieMonster Is there any workaround to the bug where you cannot add random cards to Apple Pay or Google Wallet?
I have made sure the card was first registered with MyPrepaidCentre. However, that made zero difference.

These are 5x $100 Home GCs. The first one added fine even though I wrongly specified the expiry date to be 12/25 instead of 12/29.

    • +2

For physical Ultimate Home gift cards, the only way you can add it to a mobile wallet is by manually adding the card in the mobile wallet. You cannot use the MyPrepaidCentre route, as the Add To Wallet function (which I think is still broken) only works for Ultimate eGift Cards.

I think I know what the issue is, so I'll send you a message shortly.

      • @WookieMonster please send me that experienced instructions to add these cards to my wallet smoothly. I would owe you a big thanks.

  • If cards are loaded to google pay will you still need the pin? Would be easier to convert to gift card if don't need Pin

    • +1

You do not need to provide the PIN if you are making a purchase from the gift card on Google Pay, even if you are redeeming more than $100 or $200 in the transaction.

However, if you are doing a refund transaction back onto the gift card on Google Pay, you will be asked for the PIN for any amount being refunded.

  • Still plenty of stock on Ultimate Everyone Gift cards in the two coles stores I visited today.

  • +1

Plenty of stock at my local Coles here in Ballarat. The staff didn't even seem phased that I went through twice in a matter of minutes with the same cashier. Got 10x $50 Everyone, even more, are still there. Cheers OP and Wookie for all your help!

I even sighted some Visa Kids, Teens and Him cards with rebel and Supercheap on them! How rare!

  • +1

Plenty of stock at sb hills pinelands for Home $100

  • Thanks, picked cards and bought Apple watch series 7 (after doing price match of amazon's 30% off JB HIFI). 45% discount on apple. NICEEEE

    • I hope you scanned a $10 perks coupon to add some icing on that sweet deal.

    • How can use do that since price match just work with online purchase?

      • You can go into the store and price match as long as the deal is still active

  • can i use 4 of these in an online jbhifi purchase?

    • Only one

  • I have been trying to add 5 ultimate home gift card into apple pay or google pay, only first card works, rest 4 cards does not work. Any ideas what went wrong ?

    Thanks

    • +2

It is a known issue, and BHN is doing f*** all about it.

      • thanks for letting me know, I think @WookieMonster might have a solution here ?:)

        • +1

          Nope.

Based on conversations with a number of OzBargainers, it is a systemic issue with Ultimate Home gift cards with particular card numbers, so Blackhawk Network will need to fix to investigate and fix the issue.

  • +1

Has anyone try to use Ultimate Gift Cards to buy Coles Group & Myer GG? e.g. with or without mobile wallet? If so, where and how? Online or in store?

In the OfficeWorks, use Ultimate Gift Cards to buy WW GC, can be done in store or online? Better with or without mobile wallet?
Then can we use OfficeWorks GG to buy Coles Group & Myer GG? can it be done in store or online? Better with or without mobile wallet?

    Thanks very much for help!

    • I would like to know this too, please.

    • Only if OW sells Coles Group & Myer GC. A similar example is: I find my local Coles Express has stopped stocking it so that I can not buy it there any more, using flybuys dollars.

  • What does the exchange for egift option do?

    https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/

    • The exchange facility allows you to exchange part or the full balance of an Ultimate gift card for a digital gift card from a specific participating retailer (e.g. The Iconic).

You will need to the webpage for the Ultimate gift card you have or interested in to see which participating retailers actually participate in this exchange facility. Most participating retailers actually do not participate in this facility.

      • ok thanks.

Was just trying to use mine on weber.com but doesn't recognise the number, though it might have needed to exchange the card

        • What are you trying to enter on the Weber checkout page?

Where are you entering the card’s details on the Weber checkout page?

          • @WookieMonster: on checkout, entering card number & pin

it used the wording 'Redeem eGift Card' which made me think about the exchange thing

            • +2

@ellave: An Ultimate gift card (at least the ones featuring Weber as a participating retailer) operate on the Visa network, so its details will need to be entered into the section where you enter a credit/debit card. And yes, that means you can only redeem 1x Ultimate gift card on the Weber website.

A workaround would be for you to use an Ultimate gift card to purchase a Weber gift voucher on the Weber website. However, I don’t know if there are any limits to the number of Weber gift vouchers you can redeem in one online transaction.

Just in case you were not aware, for physical Ultimate gift cards:

              • The expiry date is 12/29
              • The cardholder name can be literally anything
              • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks Mate, helpful to know. I did call a local weber store and they said they accept multiple cards for a payment. I was just trying to save a visit to a store, though may wait for another potential sale around xmas.

  • +6

Just to share, i just managed to use 4x$100 Home VISA type at Jb-Hifi instore for a Nintendo Switch OLED, followed recommendations to scratch off the pin. Get it ready, swipe the cards as you go, no dramas. But missed the perks $10 as the staff said that has to be scanned first before giftcards, but still got the $10 CBA cashback anyways.Overall easy to redeem instore without any issues.

  • +4

Managed to pick up the mrs’ 1tb iPhone 13max pro for $1997 at officeworks using the ultimate GCs so worked out to be $1697.

Hopefully she shows her appreciation in kind so double bonus 😉

    • Mrs….appreciation of Tech items…isn't that an oxymoron?

Or you have a very rare Mrs. My wife doesn't understand why we NEED so many TVs, speakers etc.

    • Can I ask you, if you did it online or in the store?

      • Multiple ultimate gift cards work instore only

  • Plenty of stock at Miranda

  • what is the minimum value of giftcard i can purchase? thought of buying these for the kids for christmas.

    • +2

      I think $30

    • +1

It depends on which Ultimate gift card you are looking at.

      • Teens, Kids, Eats, Students: $30
      • Thanks, Home, Her, Him, Style/Shopping, Baby & Mum, Active & Wellness, Everyone, Beauty & Spa: $50
  • I was using some of my Ultimate Him gift vouchers at JBhifi today and found that the $50 visa ones worked fine, but the $100 one EFTPOS one where you choose savings instead of credit was declined. On the card it has 6 retailers - sca, rebel, bbq galore, BCF, Drummond golf and Oakley. Does that mean I can only use the EFTPOS ones at the 6 stores listed on the card?

    • The EFTPOS version of the Ultimate Him gift card is only redeemable at eight retailers.

      Gift Card Participating Retailers (EFTPOS)
Him 99 Bikes, Barbeques Galore, BCF, Drummond Golf, Oakley, Oxford, Rebel Sport, Supercheap Auto

    Plenty of stock at Greenslopes

      • +1

Yeah funnily enough someone was in there when I was browsing. Suddenly the door swung open into my face and a human stepped out haha

  • Plenty of stock of all cards in a few of the inner city brisbane coles I went to today also

  • Does ultimate thanks which has Jb hifi on the front actually include JB Hifi. I'm at a coles now and they have it with the jb logo on it. It's the visa version. Any help greatly appreciated

    • Check their website for the most updated list of participating retailers. For what it’s worth my Baby & Mum gift cards (the VISA version) didn’t have TGG on the packaging but I was able to use them at TGG in store today.

  • Any recent luck using the Ultimate Home at Good Guys Commercial? Can you use multiple gift cards on there?

    • Not sure about TGG Commercial but for normal TGG I just used 16, no problem. Even a mix of Ultimate gift cards.

    • If you want to purchase an item at TGG Commercial pricing and want to use multiple Ultimate gift cards and have a physical TGG store near you that is convenient for you to get to, you can pay for a TGG Commercial order instore at a physical TGG store. Have a look at these instructions.

  • +2

Just used 16 physical Ultimate gift cards (10 Baby & Mum, 6 Everyone) at TGG in store, all VISA version. The Baby & Mum gift cards didn’t have TGG on the packaging, however it was fine as it’s listed on their website as a participating retailer. Staff was fine with it.

    • +2

      Staff was fine with it.

If you were buying gift cards, that's when some of them get their panties in a twist.

  • I went into coles to buy TEEN gift card that can be used at officeworks but don’t see in the list.

However, when I checked online the ultimate TEEN has officeworks but the gift card that I saw in store (which was TEEN one) does not seem to have officeworks listed?

    • +1

The Ultimate Teens gift cards you spotted at your local Coles have the old gift card packaging with an outdated list of participating retailers.

There have been multiple production runs for physical Ultimate gift cards, and only the latest production run (June/July 2022) included Officeworks on the front of the gift card packaging. This is due to Officeworks only starting to accept Ultimate gift cards as a payment method from the end of September 2022.

What you need to keep in mind is that participating retailers change for at least one Ultimate gift card every few weeks, so the gift card packaging can quickly become out of date. For example, Kogan was added to the Ultimate gift card scheme (for Home and Everyone gift cards) in the last 72 hours.

The Ultimate gift card terms and conditions also makes it very clear that the full and updated list of participating retailers is on the Ultimate gift card website. This was also confirmed by a Blackhawk Network rep.

You should only rely on the gift card packaging if you are looking for an Ultimate gift card that works at rebel, BCF or Supercheap Auto. Those retailers are being phased out of the Ultimate gift card scheme, so only physical Ultimate gift cards with those logos on the packaging will continue to work at those retailers.

For reference, I purchased an Ultimate Teens gift card at Woolworths with the outdated packaging in October 2022 and successfully redeemed it at Officeworks.

      • Okay, thanks for the clarification.

  • Anyone think of using Ultimate Eats with MyMuscleChef? They look to be newly added to that card. My orders are always over $100, so wondering if I can use multiple Ultimate Eat cards and still get cashback with ShopBack for MyMuscleChef?

    • I believe you swap them for gift cards. Not sure if shopback allows gift cards.

  • It seems I am only able to add 5 of the HIM Visa gift card to apple pay before it fails / won't let me add any more. Even after deleting the previous old ones.

Is anyone else having the same issue on apply pay?

    • Yes I think they only allow five at a time and you need to wait 18 - 24 hours before they let you add another five.

      • Has adding more later worked for you? I recall someone mentioned on a previous deal it's a max of 5 per device, meaning you'll never be able to add more to that phone again, even if you delete them

        • Yes I was able to add more the next day but five max

          • @blob2004: update: the third day I was only able to add 1.
Idk how apple wallet's gift card limit works but I would just recommend trying every 24 hours.
I couldnt be bothered in the end and just swiped the cards at JB.

  • Keen for any help. Which card would be best/safest to use for JB Hi Fi online? I see some people having issues redeeming. I have a relative lined up to purchase the cards for me but living in rural QLD have no Coles or Jb HiFi for quite a few hours drive… I don’t want to buy them and go to purchase the Garmin Watch I am after to find out it won’t accept online…
I think from what I’ve read any of the cards so long as they are the “VISA” cards ? This is all assuming the card is available at the Coles store my family
    Member can get them from..

    • No problem using a single Ultimate gift card online (Visa version), as long as the value covers the entire cost of the item. The problem arises when the cost of the item exceeds the value of the gift card, as the online cart will not let you input multiple Ultimate cards as it is entered as a credit card rather than a gift card. If you want to use multiple gift cards, they'll need to be converted to JB-specific ones first.

      • Cheers rith. Do you have an idea what the maximum denomination card is? The watch I am after is the Fenix pro so $646 of cards. Perhaps easier for me to just use a membership I have to get 5% off any value.

        • Not sure, about to find out myself. The JB item I'm after is over $600 and I'm suspecting I'll need to get 5x$100 converted first assuming the local Coles has them.

        • maximum denomination on Ultimate card? I think it is $500, but that's not included in the promo. Unless your family member able to convert 5x$100 Ultimate GC to $500 JB HIFI gc for you. Also, I heard the maximum gc you can entered online at JB purchase is 5. May be give JB a call to see if they can help you manually do that backend.

        • +2

Do you have an idea what the maximum denomination card is?

The highest denomination for the physical Ultimate gift cards in this deal is $100.

Physical Ultimate gift cards also exist in a variable load denomination (which can be loaded with up to $500), but those are also excluded from this deal.

Various online retailers also sell Ultimate eGift Cards; some (e.g. Amazon) will let you load up to $500, whereas others (e.g. Giftz.com.au) will let you load up to $1000. Obviously, not very helpful for you at the moment, because those are not on sale!

Perhaps easier for me to just use a membership I have to get 5% off any value.

          Yeah, probably.

The 15% discount sure is enticing, but you will need to factor in you (or more realistically, someone else) having to go find the right Ultimate gift cards at Coles, then either going to a JB Hi-Fi store to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards or trying their luck at trying to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card on the JB Hi-Fi website.

I’ll leave it up to you whether the extra discount through this deal is worth the extra hassle.

          • +2

@WookieMonster: Cheers WookieMonster. I got a family member to buy them, all visa card ones. All identical. 2 of the 5 they got successfully converted online to the equivalent $100 Jb Hi Fi gift card the other three get declined…. dam. I will have to wait until they are in my possession to actually use them now.

            • +2

@swilso: My suggestion is to wait until 24 hours after the last successful transaction, as it sounds like JB Hi-Fi’s fraud detection system has kicked in.
